Antique Gold Gilded Deep Round Mirror 19th Century Colonial Williamsburg Style
Exceptional old round mirror in wonderful condition without damage. There is not even any missing decorative gesso. The only minuscule crack I noticed is shown in pic#5 and is certainly in the category of normal for a piece this old. My guess is that it is from the late 1800s up to maybe 1920. Although I am not an expert. Most of my estimate of age is based on the patina of the finish and aging of the wood on the back. The paper dust cover is old but I am unsure if it is original. I know nothing about judging the age of mirrors so I don't know if it is original. There is a short faint line in the glass upon close inspection. The widest point is just over 23" the raised rim on the front is 21" in diameter, the mirror is just over 16" wide and the frame is 4" thick. The gold is more of a matte finish than the pictures, ... moreas the flash of the camera added some brightness.
