Here is a beautiful Oak Pier Mirror with marble shelf circa 1890. Measures 25" x 85" overall. With the marble shelf measuring 8" x 25" at a height of 18" The glass mirror is beveled and marked"Durand Process, Patent Silvering Trademark, May(date unreadable) This piece is all original and the oak looks great. The marble has been professionally repaired(a crack) and can barely be seen in the photo. Not noticeable unless you know it's there. The mirror has an area in the lower right corner with silvering issues(spots- see last photo) but this doesn't affect the overall beauty of this piece and is not detected in the reflected image unless you are doing a close-up inspection. The top of the mirror is hooded with turned spindles flanked on either side by drop finials. The frame features incised carvings down both sides. Three smaller mirrors adorn the bottom. The fascinating and unique feature about this great mirror are the two reeded lamp stands on either side. In the last photo I have shown it with two peg lamps(not included) The mirror has it original finish and I think is in beautiful condition. The original beveled mirror does show some clouding.
