This is a stunning antique gold gilded cast iron wall or table mirror. it is extremely ornate and done in a beautiful Victorian style. the mirror is nicely beveled and held in by a screwed in iron plate in the back. the frame is nicely footed and wrapped with cut out scroll and floral detailing. it is a thick frame and has some nice weight to it. there is a pivoting arm in the back that stands the mirror up on a flat surface or can be pushed aside to hang on a wall. the frame measures 13 1/2 inches tall by 8 3/8 inches wide. in good shape. This auction is for a great old metal mirror. The frame is all metal. I am unsure of the age of this mirror. The metal work is very nice. The mirror measures 13 by 23 inches and the total piece is 17 by 34 inches. The mirror is quite heavy which leads me to believe it is old or very well made reproduction. It is in great shape. The mirror is perfect rectangle. I had to take the pictures angled due to the reflection. This is a nice sturdy heavy mirror. I would recommend a wall anchor when mounting on a wall.

Cast iron frame FLOATING mirror beveled edge vtg wall antique metal mercury hang
This piece has a cast iron or wrought iron frame that would hang on the wall and the beveled edge mirror fits within the frame. The mirror would rather“float” between the iron frame. It has two decorative hinge type connectors that would secure the mirror. I am not a very“handy” type person and I cannot get the mirror inside this frame. It seems too wide. But I know that is just because I do not know how to secure it. This mirror definitely goes with this frame, so it has to fit. I know a“handy” type person could get it secured. If you are"unhandy. like me, you get 2 cool separate pieces! The frame is a cast iron or wrought iron black metal piece in very good condition– no rust– very good condition. The metal has a twisted ribbon like look. I have yet to find any maker’s mark on this piece. But it could be that I do not know where to ... morelook. Due to the design– a maker’s mark could be hidden. The mirror has a thick rough or scalloped type beveled edge. I was going to say no chips. But on closer I think there may possibly be a chip in one of the scallops. Rather hard to tell due to the decorative cut at the edges of the mirror. Also. As you can see, the silver or mercury backing has worn off in several places. It is an old piece. Exact age unknown– I do not know if this is an older vintage piece– I assume collectors can tell by the mirror cut and the frame style- Size: The metal frame measures approx 12 3/4ths inches in length. The center cut-out measures approx 6 1/4 by 4 1/8th inches. The mirror measures approx 5 3/4ths by 3 5/8ths inches. It is approx 1/4 inch thick at the edges. Condition: The cast iron frame still looks very good. As you can see. The back of the mirror shows much wear. As stated above, the mirror has a thick rough beveled edge and it is difficult to tell, but there may be a chip on one of the scalloped edges. I am offering on Buy It Now a unique and rare cast iron mirror from the Victorian Period. This mirror is shaped like a horseshoe and has two looped ropes on the bottom for hanging objects. There are also two hooks for towels and such. I think this mirror was most likely a man's shaving mirror since it certainly doesn't have any female appeal! The mirror is beveled and the silver is in minor cracked condition. The overall dimensions are 5.5" X 8" and the hooks stand 4" away from the wall. This is a stunning antique 19th century gold gilded cast iron ornate Victorian wall mirror. it has a beautiful bronzed patina from age and made from very thick heavy iron. it is done with an abundance of very intricate detailing done in high relief. the top depicts a dimensional cherub with hand wrapping a large scroll. the feet are very detailed griffins/dragons with large wings and sharp clawed feet. it is in very nice antique condition and has a hanging wire on the back. measures 11 3/4 inches by 8 3/4 inches. Beautiful and different. 19th century hanging wall mirror. VERY unusual shape with the arched top. The inset mirror has beveling all around and is in great condition. Very dark wood, quarter-sawn oak graining visible. There are 2 quadruple cast-iron hooks with great brass/copper patina. The body of the mirror is one piece, with the decorative arch applied to it. There is a little nick out of the wood on the applique at the top of the arch, on the right side. It will disappear with a little stain. For its age, this piece is in really nice overall condition. It measures about 24" from the bottom to top of the arch, and about 21" side-to-side. This is a heavy piece and will take a large box. So consider shipping costs before you bid. A very fine antique. Circa 1900- 1930, Louis XVI style cast iron wall mirror with gilt finish and polychrome accents. Frame hangs by the handle of the basket finial. It measures 11-3/4" tall by 6-3/4" wide, the mirror 9" by 6" Excellent condition: iron with the original finish, mirror glass without chips or cracks- pale backing steaks. The mirror backing is heavy paper, which has chipped. We suggest replacing the paper with a sturdy material, the six securing rods to hold mirror in place are present.
