ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CARVED MIRROR WITH ACORNS AND OAK LEAVES.
Up for auction is a beautifully carved antique Black Forest mirror with beveled edge from the early 1900's. The frame has branches with oak leaves and acorns that wrap around a nice mirror. This piece has fabulous detail. The only flaws that I see with this piece is a small dark spot or discoloration on the left side of the mirror(I tried to get a picture of it, but doesn't show up very well) and four small holes on the back with a round mark(You can see in the last two pictures that show the back of the mirror. It might have had a leg on the back at one time so you could also display the mirror on a shelf which is were these marks might have came from, not sure. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. Measures 51 inches tall and tapers from wide to narrow at bottom. 28" wide at top. 25" wide at middle and 14" wide at lower end x 1" deep. Four 4 brass double hooks were probably added at a later time. Great for hanging a small beaded purse collection. Ties or scarves. Beautifully detailed hand carved Acanthus Leaf design on front. Hard wood board on back. Heavy weighs 20 pounds. Pick up only in the San Diego area. Mirror glass in excellent condition. This is a Victorian Beveled Silverback Mirror with Oak Carved Fan& Scroll Frame. 31.5 inches tall x 32 inches long. Item is in overall good condition with some silver back spotting in a few places and some light streaking. Mirror still displays well and shouldn't be problem for most. Top left corner back looks to have a parkay piece missing or a production flaw. Puzzling why it's like that on that side. The hanger and hardware attached are very sturdy and secure. Rare Cheval "Easle" Style Carved Oak Beaded Frame Beveled Mirror From England
This auction is for an older Cheval. Free standing floor type mirror that has an"Easle Style" back with a beveled edge mirror from England. It also has carved"knees" on both of it's legs. Carved trim across the top and the mirror is bordered with"beaded trim" all the way around the outside edge. It say's"Rare" in the title and Rare it is, this is only the second"easle style" cheval mirror I have ever seen in over 13 years of being in this business, we see chavel mirrors time to time but these"easle types" are far and few. I have seen two, and have them both, one is in our guest bedroom. This is a very pretty mirror and unit. It still works and with it's pretty and unique style adds interest and charm anywhere you set it. THIS IS AN ANTIQUE VICTORIAN HORIZONTAL. CARVED GILT WOOD MIRROR. THIS MIRROR IS IN NICE SHAPE FOR IT'S AGE, WITH SOME LIGHT SCRATCHES AND NICKS IN THE WOOD HERE AND THERE. THE MIRROR IS OAK WITH A MAHOGANY COLORING. THERE IS A HAND CARVED WOOD GILT MOLDING THAT IS VERY ORNATE. THE BEVELED GLASS LOOKS ORIGINAL AND IN NICE SHAPE. HOWEVER THERE A COUPLE OF DARK SPOTS SHOWING THROUGH THE MIRROR FROM AGE. THE WIRE HANGER IS STILL VERY STRONG. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE BACK OF THE MIRROR YOU CAN REALLY SEE IT'S AGE. 1800s Carved Tiger Oak Victorian Wall Mirror Coat Rack Cast Iron Towel Holder
Beautiful. 19th century hall/foyer/mudroom mirror. VERY unusual shape with beveling all around. Mostly quarter sawn oak construction. 2 quadruple, cast iron hooks with wonderful brass/copper patina. High quality tongue and groove construction. Across the top is a recessed panel with glorious acanthus trim. Just below that, is leafy carvings. Except for slight age cracking left and right of mirror, wonderful overall condition. It measures about 22 1/2 inches square. Many other Victorian architectural pieces listed. This auction is for a Beautiful Antique Victorian Quartersawn Tiger Oak Carved Beveled Wall Mirror. The mirror measures 40 inches tall by 39 inches wide including the wood trim. The mirror by itself measures 31 inches tall by 35.5 inches wide. We used the mirror in our master bathroom over a double sink vanity. But it can be hung anywhere. It has a wire hanger in the rear and can be hung in drywall using 2 50 lb. rated OOK picture hangers. The mirror weighs about 40-50 pounds. Local pick-up only in Montclair. NJ
