Then I noticed it opened up and inside I found a clipping in German inside. Looks like it was put there during the War World 2 Era for Winston was mentioned. But I don't speak German. Gorgeous Rustic Primitive Old Vintage Hand Carved Wood Mirror With Copper Brass
Gorgeous Rustic Primitive Old Vintage Hand Carved Wood Mirror With Copper Brass I brought home a truck load of items from the auction last week. It was a farm estate. And I found some fabulous primitive antiques, as well as boxes and boxes of antique and vintage hardware that I will be listing for a long long time- someone clearly was a woodworker or dabbled in furniture creation or restoration. There’s something for everyone! O.K. I was getting so frustrated that I didn't think that my indoor photos were reflecting the color of this beauty correctly, I just had to run outside to grab some sub-zero accurate shots for you! This one is a beauty. It's a wall minor that is older vintage(if not antique- it's old, but the mirror is not wavy like oldold glass) and it's all hand carved wood, with brass accents on the corners and perimeter, ... moreand a copper pressed copper sheet accent layer on the inside perimeter of the mirror. It's a nice sized mirror- large enough to use, yet small enough to fit just about anywhere. The wood frame measures 9 1/8" wide by 13" tall and the inside opening/the mirror measures 7" by 4 1/2" It has and old rusty wire for hanging at the back- it looks like it may be original and, I think the backside is as interesting as the front. You can see an old browned paperboard at the back of the mirror, and you can see remnants of and old brown paper border that was adhered to the perimeter of the opening at the back. It's dark, and very brittle paper now, chipped off all over, especially the top left corner of it, which is gone. On the paperboard, you can see an old white tag with a red boarder- something used to be written on it, but it's worn in the middle and I cannot read. You can also see hand writting markings in pen- it looks like 37 1/2- 12, but I'm not sure- supersize and see what you think. Handle is 5 inches and the width is 6 inches. the mirror glass is BEVELED I have owned it for many years and have yet to find one that is even close to looking like this one. I have gone through every inch and can find no information where it is from and who made it. I took it to Rague's in Lambertville New Jersey, they are the Antique Road Show Auctioneers. Every Monday for free you may take up to 6 items to be priced. This mirror stumped them. Possibly from 1850- 1899 when it was common not to sign pieces. It has a Chippendale design. This is an antique French hand mirror in the Neoclassical Grecian style. I believe this to be a combination of gilt bronze/brass metal. The design is on mahogany wood. And is encrusted with precious stones. The top stone is a purple Lindy Star Sapphire, and the bottom two stones are Jade. This is most likely from the period 1880 to 1900's, but actual age is unknown. The mirror has been replaced and is not original. It is a double sided swivel mirror- Normal view- And magnifying views. The Art Deco metal work is beautiful- The base is designed in a floral. Leaf and rope pattern. Scrolling feather and a floral wreath run up the pedestal with a garland of flowers trailing up the sides of the stand frame. Mirror angle can be adjusted by the side screws and this comes completely apart so you can replace or clean the parts. Quite ingenious the way it is made. From the Victorian Era is this mini"Hand Mirror" It has a very detailed. Raised carved back stem, mounted on bronze. The stem appears to be silverplate, but I am not an expert on this and just relaying my opinion on what it looks to be. The front of the mirror has a gold painted pattern all the way around it. It was hard for me to get a proper photo of the painted edges so I hop you can see it a little but it is really detailed. It measures 4.5" long by 2.5" wide on the circular part of the mirror. Up for consideration is a lovely Antique Vintage Guilloche Enamel and Brass Hand Mirror. The mirror is approx. 14" long. I believe the metal to be brass or brass coated. It is a heavy hand mirror. The actual mirror has some wear under the glass(see Pict. 6& 7) There is lovely decoration on the side of the mirror(see Pict8) Also. There is a lovely enameled group of roses with a white enamel background which is in the center. The enameling is in very good condition- there is some variation in color in the yellow enameled area- don't know if it's dirty in some areas or if it has just worn this way(please look at pictures carefully) There is a plastic over the yellow enameled area. This is a very pretty old mirror and one for your collection.

This solid brass 30 pound mirror is absolutely stunning. Try as I may. I can't get my camera to do it justice. In unique early Hollywood glam style. The frame is adorned in hand painted pastoral images set in China, and adoptive of the style. This was quite likely painted by Katherine Henick, a highly sought after artist designer in the 1930s who adorned furniture with east asian and provencal art. Unfortunately, I can't find a signature so this is unconfirmed; however, style and period indicate this is a Henick original Measures 41.5 x 25.5 x 1 in.

Beautiful Early Brass and possibly early bakelite hand vanity mirror with features Paul Thumann's Psyche at Natures Mirror. This painting was purchased at the Chicago World's Fair in 1892 and the rights were sold to White Rock Beverages. Psyche the fairy topless girl became one of the top ten recognizable advertising characters in the country in the early part of the 1900's. I believe this mirror most likely pre-dates White Water's use of Psyche. Very old brass mirror with a reddish bakelite type of plastic. This is a beautiful Victorian or Edwardian hand mirror that I bought at an antique shop in Tisvildeleje. Denmark. The condition is somewhere between very good and excellent. To be honest. These little mirrors were made to be used and I am impressed this little thing lasted as long as it has! There is some warping of the picture, but the glass and colors are still vivid. The antique glass mirror is not cloudy nor is it cracking in the back. The details are exquisite and are stylistically Victorian. The most interesting thing about this mirror is that it is not a perfect oval. This means that the glass was cut in error. But the value of the glass mirror was high enough that they built the whole thing around it. Entryway beveled mirror and key/hat holder - hand forged antique/Vintage Brass
This is a very unique piece currently hanging in my hallway. Please look at the craftsmanship and detail including a beveled mirror. Dimensions overall are approximately 17" long and 12" high. The beveled mirror measures approximately 5" long and 9" high. There are two hooks. Very good shape. Ready to hang. Please see pictures for detail.

Vintage Victorian Look Ornate Brass-Ceramic-Jeweled Hand Held Dresser Mirror A very nice and highly collectible brass and blue enamel hand held mirror with light blue jewels-a quality item and surprisingly heavy! Very ornate and detailed- frame of mirror is solid brass. As is the handle, leaf design all around and on the back. The light blue jewels are not real jewels but rather"paste jewels" used for that time period. Mirror is in excellent condition. This piece has not been cleaned or altered in any manner.
