Antique Brass Framed Mirror with detachable John Scott Brass Lamps
This is a brass framed mirror with two brass lamps on each side. We do NOT have the globes for the lamp. Each lamp adjuster is stamped: one says"Made In England*Duplex* and the other says"Made In England*John Scott* The entire mirror is framed in decorative brass. The frame has a raised brass flower at each corners. And a brass decoration at the center of the top frame. Along each side. The mirror has brass bars. The bars are attached to the brass frame in two places on each bar. The right and left bars have the assembly for holding the lamps. The lamps can easily be unscrewed from the lamp base holder, which is a curved brass piece that extends out from the brass bar and ends with a screw in receptacle. Each of the four bars ends in a curlique. The bottom left curlique is broken off. We have the broken piece. It was taped to the ... morebottom bar when we got the mirror. As far as we can tell, the mirror has no other broken pieces. The glass globes that sit on the lamp bases did not come with the mirror. On the back side of the mirror is a heavy backing panel. With brass squares from the frame screwed into it. The hanging wire is already in place, it is attached to the back by screwed in brass plates and is quite sturdy. The entire mirror is EXTREMELY heavy- we weighed the entire piece at over 50 pounds. It is well made and only has aged patina and greening like you would find on an old penny in spots.
