Antique Federal Brass/Bronze Mirror
This is an outstanding brass/bronze federal period mirror in original(as found) condition. The mirror has many interesting parts. At the top is an American Eagle perched on an oval(1.5" by 2" containing what appear to be the remnants of a heraldic crest. Under the crest is a larger oval 8.5” by 6.75" mirror also in original untouched condition. At the bottom of the mirror is a thirteen star shield representing the 13 original colonies. The back of the shield reads“Design Patented Nov. 25 1862” In total. The mirror measures 19" by 11.5” and weighs about 7.5 pounds. Please look closely at the photos as they tell the story, but if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. It would be very simple to polish this mirror with Brasso and have it looking shiny and new, but many people value the old patina so I have changed ... morenothing. This mirror has no breaks, flaws, repairs, replacements or damage of any kind. It has a beautifully aged surface. This is a set of two beautiful antique-style(not sure whether actually antique) mirrors from the Russian Ural region. Please see the intricate metalwork on these. I'm not sure what material they're made from: maybe bronze or brass. My family is Russian. And we received these as a gift from a Russian business contact in the Russian Ural in the late 1990s. According to the person who gave them to us, this type of metalworking, and specifically the ones made by this craftsman, is the pride of the Russian Ural. Antique Oval Small Mirror Frame Bronze Brass? Very Heavy, Ornate, Foundry Mark
This is a very old and very heavy frame. Probably made in the late Victorian era at the end of the 19th century, or the very early 20th century. It is marked on the back 217 and in another place it looks like NB+NY- not sure about this mark, the second part is hard read. Might be NV or even IW. I believe it is bronze or brass. I have seen this frame in a larger version many times in cast iron, and those are heavy, but this one is REALLY heavy. You may have seen frames like this that are usually a foot tall or more. This is a little guy. Only 9" tall and 8" across. The frame has been fitted with a mirror which is newer. There are 3 little tabs that more easily on the back. This is an antique French hand mirror in the Neoclassical Grecian style. I believe this to be a combination of gilt bronze/brass metal. The design is on mahogany wood. And is encrusted with precious stones. The top stone is a purple Lindy Star Sapphire, and the bottom two stones are Jade. This is most likely from the period 1880 to 1900's, but actual age is unknown. The mirror has been replaced and is not original. Ornate Antique Oval Picture Frame Cast Brass or Bronze Gold Baroque Wall Mirror
This cast brass picture frame has been converted from an easel back photo frame and to a mirror made to hang on the wall. The frame measures 11" by 9" across the outer rim with a 5" by 4" wide opening for the mirror. There is a metal plate on the back attached with four flat head screws and a wire that goes from each side to hang on the wall. This is not cast iron and metal is not magnetic. It is very heavy and metal feels cold. I have had this for many years and it looks very nice on the wall. You could remove the mirror if you wanted to use for a picture or photograph. This is a very nice quality antique solid gold gilded bronze Bradley and Hubbard Bacchus figural wall mirror. it is made from very thick bronze. Has a lovely gold gilded finish, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. it is extremely ornate and has a wonderful cut out floral/scroll design. it is nicely footed with a detailed hanging hook in-between them. the top has a very large dimensional portrait depiction of Bacchus. the original mirror has a great beveled edge and has a nice shape. it is signed on the back B&H and is numbered. in nice antique condition measuring 15 inches tall by 10 inches wide. very nice quality Victorian mirror. Pair Vintage Solid Brass Candle Sconces. Measure 24" high. 6.5" wide and 4" deep at widest points. They weigh approx. 8 pounds each before packing. The mirror have some age discoloration and will need to be replace it. The second mirror is missing and will need to be replaced. The brass has been gold painted and very light scratches on it. Some light tarnish on the back side of the candle holders. The bobeches have machine drilled holes on each for the addition of more crystals if desired The second hanging is missing 9 crystals. This heavy. Solid Antique 1800's Ornate French Table or Boudoir Mirror is in excellent condition. The original mirror is in great condition with no cracks, chips, damage, black or dull spots to the mirror. I have shown several pictures so you can get a good look at the mirror. Any specks on the mirror in the pictures are dust and are not permanent marks on the mirror. The heavy ornate gold stand is also in great condition with no damage. It still has the original green felt backing and original clips holding the mirror in place. The stand is very solid and holds the mirror securely on a dresser, dressing table or desk. It is embossed with the numbers 08576 on the bottom edge of the stand. It is very heavy and solid. This mirror has been stored in a dresser drawer for well over 40 years, until it was recently discovered, and was rarely ... moreused. I was told it was from the 1800's.
