Which it appears someone tried to remove- it is completely secure but is a little"off" as shown. Very light scuffs to silver here and there, mirror back has a few"pin-prick" like indentions, over all in amazing condition. The Webster hallmark(a W with an arrow-like symbol through it) is very light but can be seen beside the sterling mark on the mirror, and on the handle of the nail file, in the right light. Fine CHINESE ANTIQUE Bone Handle HAND MIRROR Bevelled Glass Carved Stone JADE NR
SEE INFO BELOW Rare Hand Mirror SEE PICTURE BELOW FOR CLOSE UPS Fine mirror with carved stones and probably jade plaque back ground still all original from an estate in Tucson. Arizona. SEE ALL 8 PICTURES BELOW. It is probably Chinese and the ox bone flowers that are cracked are in the shape of a bat or moth it appears? The cut stone flowers are lapis, malacite, carnelian(not sure about red) and the tiny butterfly looks like a very bright green wafer of jade which is different from all the pieces of stone. Even the tiny stems are cut from stone. The white ground appears to be a flat piece of mutton fat jade and almost every piece is still there. There is one thing missing in front of the butterfly as there is a tiny spot of old glue residue shown below. No other damage or repairs but there is some dried glue under the bone flowers where it ... moremeets the and offered as show. From a fine estate and well taken care of. This vintage hand held mirror is quite large- 15 inches long and 6 inches wide. Etched on the handle just below the mirror is the word"Pyralin" and below that"Mayflower" The beveled mirror is in almost perfect condition. This item is a vintage hand mirror which has a bevelled edge. Surrounding the mirror, itself, is a sterling silver frame. It is impressed on the top of the handle next to the mirror"Sterling" I tried to get it to show up on the pictures, but I couldn't. The glass is 4-1/2" across; including the frame, it is 5-1/2" across. It is 9-3/4" long from the top of the frame to the bottom of the handle. On the back is a substance that looks like glass with blue foil under it. I'm not sure what it is, but it is pretty. It is blue and looks like it radiates out from the center. It has some scratches and some damage. The mirror has some dark spots and some cloudiness and the frame is tarnished. Superb Porcelain Bevelled Hand / Wall Mirror with Cherubs & Embossed Flowers
This is the prettiest mirror I have seen in a very long time! It is probably a reproduction of an antique Meissen or Dresden hand held mirror. It can be hand held and it can also be hung on the wall. It is 10.5 inches long and made of porcelain. It is superbly and very richly decorated with the most beautiful little cherubs at the top and dainty. Embossed, encrusted, pastel coloured flowers all around- including the handle. It is in excellent condition and I can see only one petal on one of the flowers which is damaged. Quite and elegant and dainty mirror which can be hand held or hung on the wall as it already has a little hook on the rear. The rear has a green velvet covering. Spiritualism was a religious ideology that was popular from the ... moremud-1800s through the early 1900s. Followers believed not only that people lived on after death. But that they could be contacted with the help of"mediums" and people sensitive to the spirit world. In Europe, Empress Eugenie and Queen Victoria practiced spiritualism. Even Mary Todd Lincoln hosted seances after her and President Lincoln's 12 year old son, Willie, died of typhoid fever in 1862. Mrs. Lincoln was fascinated by Spiritualists during Lincoln's tenure. She used her powers as First Lady to enlist the help of several famous mediums. Lincoln, himself, was present at many of the seances. Later after Lincoln was assassinated, several Spiritualists visited Mary in the White House. The small Victorian hand- mirror up for auction belonged to a well known medium in the 1800s. It measures 4 9/16 inches long and 1 11/16 inches in diameter. The mirror has a deep bevel that's 1/2 of an inch deep and a domed porcelain back that has a hand-painted scene on it. This estate piece is such a unique find. The beveled mirror has real flowers and fern sprigs inlaid within(Under the surface of the mirror glass) The mirror is set into the wood in a copper bezel. The other side of the mirror is from one piece of oak. Nicely grained. It measures approximately 11" x 4 3/4" x 5/8" and weighs 12.2 ounces. Silvestri Trinket Box Bevelled Glass Silver Metal Mirror Interior Hand Crafted
Silvestri Glass and silver metal trinket box. It is 6-sided. It is about 5" from one point to another and about 2" deep. It has a hinged lid. The edges are done with a silver metal. Which I don't know what it is; but it makes it a little different from the brass ones. The glass is bevelled on the top and each panel. The top also has a bevelled line design. The bottom has a mirror. I don't see any breaks or chips or loss of mirror. The bottom sits on 4 round rubber discs. There is a sticker on the bottom which says: Handcrafted(copyright symbol) Silvestri Made in Taiwan. A little of the right side is gone and I am making the assumption that it says Silvestri and the"ri" is broken off. It is a lovely decorative trinket box!

Antique Edwardian Bevelled Mirror Photo Frame Hand Painted Flowers 16x11cm For sale: a lovely antique Edwardian mirror photo frame that dates from 1910 onwards~ beautifully presented with thick bevelled glass front and a wooden back with spring levers for removing the glass from the wood back to place a photo inside. There is a single wood back stand ~ the glass is mirrored and decorated with hand painted Forget-Me-Not flowers and the space for the photo or postcard is oval ~ the whole piece is very well put together and quite heavy. Vintage Hand Mirror Faux Tortoise Shell Large Oval Bevelled Glass Bakelite?
This is a beauty. The mirror could be Bakelite or plastic or celluloid. But the faux tortoise pattern is gorgeous whatever the composition. The vintage could range between the 1920s to 1950s, I am not sure. The surface of the tortoise shell is in remarkably good condition showing some gentle wear. The bevelled edge mirror is perfect and retains all of its silvering. The overall length of the mirror is 29.5cm. At its widest(landscape) the frame plus mirror measures about 20.5cm. The other widest measurement of the oval(portrait) is just under 14cm. It has a satisfying heft in the hand and feels well balanced. I am uncertain of its origins but was found in Australia. FOLK ART DECORATED 19TH C. AMERICANA HAND MIRROR WITH BEVELLED GLASS
This is a very unique piece of Americana. This tapering handle rectangular shaped hand mirror has its original folk decorated surface. The mirror back has an overall grained paint to probably simulate maple. It is then decorated with a six pointed star with round center flanked by two trailing vines. On the side with the mirror the upper part of the handle is decorated with an anchor. Additionally the mirror is framed with contrasting colored wood. Anecdotally the anchor decoration has led to the opinion that the mirror was made by a sailor for perhaps his girlfriend or wife. Also. It contains its original nicely beveled mirror. There is some age related discoloration in one corner of the mirror which you will see in the pictures. It is in outstanding condition otherwise.
