The deer heads and base are solid brass and were"antique" finished when I bought them. They can be polished of course but patina gives metal a heritage appearance so I never did. The weight with a sturdy cardboard box for shipping will be around 33 pounds. I cannot list a correct shipping price until I know where they would go and freight is the only sensible way to ship with this weight to consider. Measures about 17 inches tall and with the arms( I forget what they're called) are about 16.5 inches deep. Marked L and R and the fronts are stamped 1351 I think and the arms are stamped 1129 again. A pair of old brass andirons. Age is hard to determine. But I would think that these date to the first part of the 20th century. They screw together in pieces and mounted to a black iron rod. They appear to have been polished somewhat recently. They are a little lose, so the probably need to be taken apart and put back together(notice that the top cap of the left is a little cock-eyed) Each stands about 17" tall and their depth(with the black rod) is about 19" Please email with any questions. 2 ANTIQUE ANDIRONS Here is an interesting pair of andirons. They appear to be brass. At least the center posts do as you can see the brass under the patena and rust. The bottom leg area is showing some silver metal, too heavy and thick for aluminum, I would think. They are heavy, each weighing 11 pounds. They are rusty and may have been painted at some point. Within the patina are colors of red/pink, browns, gold and silver. The metal is thick. The back braces are cool looking. They measure 19.75" in height and 10" front to back. The back of each upright is marked A1 and a symbol I can't make out. The back bars/braces are marked D4. I would say these are very old. From the 1800's although they could be from 1900's. Vtg Set Virginia Metalcrafters Dolphin Andirons Brass & 3 Fireplace Tools Rare
From a recent estate sale. This is a fantastic brass and wrought iron fireplace set made by Virginia Metalcrafters. They are signed in the back of the andirons under the wrought iron dogs. They are done in the stylized form of dolphins. The main dolphins are brass and the smaller dolphins are cast iron. Even harder to find are the original tools. I have 3 of the original tools with no stand. They also have stylized dolphins that perfectly match the andirons. I have not found the mark on the tools, however, I am sure they are correct for the set. Someone tried to polish an area at the bases of the brass andiron dolphins. No actual damage, the fronts of the andirons can swivel partly as well.

Steampunk 1900s IRON Steel Brass GAS FIREPLACE INSERT REZNOR Orthoray Rare Vtg
Steampunk: The gas line could be used for the electrical line coming into the device and two brass balls could be removed and pipes could be connected to those square tubes to form the base for a double-sided steampunk lamp. The weight of the entire device would be sufficient to hold a nice size light fixture. Height about 24 inches. Width about 22 inches. Depth about 12 inches. The cast? iron/ steel appears to be in good shape. One of the finials on the left side- the brass ball- is cracked. The old ceramic inserts in the fireplace are not perfect. One is cracked in two and one does not appear to be the same as the others. We do not know if the inserts are original. But that should not detract from the beauty of this very old and interesting piece. Inserts are easily replaced. These lion's head andirons were used together with the tools even though they didn't match up the same but looked great together. The andirons don't have log holders attached because they were used with a different log set up. If you need a set they are easy to find. Each piece measures 20.5" tall and 9.5" across at the feet. They are very heavy. Each one weighs almost 10 lbs. The condition is very good. They do not need anything except polishing if you don't like the brass patina.
