This mantle is marked 1893 and is made of gorgeous golden oak. This is a rare-to-find complete fireplace mantle with tile surround and cast iron insert. It must have been pulled out as a whole. The original fireplace celery green tiles are of high quality(probably TRENT) tiles and have soot marks that exactly match the wood surround and the same is for the cast iron fireplace cover. The tiles were removed with their original mounting board that was installed with the mantle. Everything matches up beautifully forming a complete mantle set as it must have stood in an incredible 1890's Victorian. Art Nouveau was all about bringing nature into the home. ... moreHere you have leaf and pea pod vine design and carved tree forms in the columns. It is a brief period where conventional design was replaced by whimsical concepts. The celery tile color and oak woods all combine to bring nature inside the home. There is even a free-form carved tree decoration at the top that is SO unique! Imagine selling this concept to the homeowner's decorator! This is a rare mantle for sure! This is also a ball& stick design which was popular in the late 1800's with turned spools at the upper. Mid and lower galleries. Metal inside lining with copper patina. Wonderful turnings and 11 flower medallions. Carved center crest. Looks great within an Arts& Crafts or Victorian setting. No missing pieces or repairs and in fantastic overall condition. In the shortest configuration it measures 41 1/4 inches outside to outside& 35 1/2 inches inside to inside. It is 7 1/4 inches tall and 15 inches deep. Expanded it measures almost 52 1/2 inches outside to outside and a little over 46 1/2 inches inside to inside. Many other architectural antiques listed. Antique Arts & Crafts Victorian Wrought Iron Fireplace Hearth Tool Set
This wrought fireplace set has been in my possession for nearly 15 years(in storage) I bought it at an estate sale along with many other antiques. I cannot find the maker of this but would estimate it to be 1930'2 or 1940's by the construction. The poker has some delamination at the poker end which tells me it was wrought. I will package well and ship the best way. It stands 32½ inches tall. It comes with brush. Shovel, poker and ember tongs along with the hanging stand.

Can be viewed in photo. This mirror has been in my home over a cherry buffet for over 50 years. But at sometime in it's life it did hang over a fireplace and hence the burn mark. It has a large shovel end with a lattice pierced pattern. And barley cane twist stem with a balluster terminal handle. A heavy and quality item and would guess made around 1810-1880 roughly. Authentic. Turn of the century, fireplace mantle. Mostly quarter sawn oak construction. Salvaged from a gigantic, triple tier, fireplace from IL. Victorian home. Fantastic classic design. Top board has no less than FIVE layers of beveling! At far left and right are 2 contoured, fluted corbels. Across the background are small, raised panel squares. In the middle is an ornately carved plaque on a textured background. Shows lots of dings, wear, scratches, imperfections etc. but very nice overall condition. This is a large substantial antique weighing in at 34 LBS. It measures 5ft long, about 11 5/8 inches, and 11 5/8 inches deep. Many other authentic architectural antiques listed.
