I did find another example of these and they were sold by a dealer in Europe, and they said that they were bronze and they said that they were made about 1890. They measure about 18 -1/2 inches tall and 12 inches wide and 4-1/2 inches deep. I have not been able to find any signs of damage, cracks or repairs. One of the cherubs is holding a little book and the other does have a small hole where something could have been held in place but it looks like the hole was never used and you have to look close to even find it.

The total depth measures 20' and they are 9-1/2' at the widest and 16-3/4' high(one andiron is 16-3/8' They are in good used condition. They still have a lot of their original shiny gilt surface but that shows age and wear(see photos) They will be shipped with the shanks removed.
