My need for these tools will never be activated even though I love them. They have such class and will glamour up any useable fireplace. Downsizing as you get older can be painful when you give up many of the beautiful things you once lived with. BUT it is great that many of you are still shopping for(and have a use for) the nicer things in life for a good Price. The deer heads and base are solid brass and were"antique" finished when I bought them. They can be polished of course but patina gives metal a heritage appearance so I never did. The weight with a sturdy cardboard box for shipping will be around 33 pounds. I cannot list a correct shipping price until I know where they would go and freight is the only sensible way to ship with this weight to consider. This is a stunning pair of gothic cast iron fireplace andirons. They have a great patina from age and are made from very thick heavy iron. They have a stylized design and finial. On inside is imprinted: BURR CHROMIUM 100" which I believe describes metal that was initially used(1910-1920) to label the iron/steel mixture that helped to prevent corrosion. The back legs are also made from cast iron. For your consideration a very hard to find 1960's modernist"Acorn Deluxe'Porcelainized' Fireplace" Made of steel with a white and black. Splatter, baked porcelain finish. The condition is very good. There are no dents or chips to the finish. It is a recent estate purchase from a doctors home in the Boston area. It was in the master bedroom of the house and hadn't been used in some time. It measures about 37-1/2 inches tall by 24-1/2 wide by 21 deep. The fire box is about 23 inches wide by14 deep. The weight is approximately 80 pounds. It is designed to sit on the floor on its cantilevered legs as close as 6 inches from any wall. Included with the stove is a 12" section of pipe with a damper in it and a round two piece collar for a masonry wall or brick chimney installation. I know that I am a very new E-bay seller. In order to earn your trust I have attempted to take very good pictures and I will answer any questions about this item that you have. Just ask. I am listing it as local pickup only because I have no idea how to ship something this large. This is a wood and metal freestanding faux fireplace/mantle with metal liner. Manufactured by Wood-Craft Inc. Baltimore MD. Sticker indicates company was founded in 1933. I have no idea how old this unit is. I tried to research the company and/or the unit and can't find information anywhere on ebay or on Google. I would estimate it at over 50 years old based on the fact that there is no plastic anywhere on the unit. I bought it at an antique store to have a place to hang Christmas stockings: I put an little electric fireplace and used it for five years, but the ... morefireplace stopped working so I pitched that, and now I'm moving and hope to have a real fireplace. Measures 52" wide. 44" tall, and only 10" deep. Someone- not me- made small cut outs(pictured) to accommodate up to a six inch molding and allow it to be placed flat against the wall. Very stable, but if you have children or dogs that might bump it I would suggest securing it to the wall. The textured faux brick is made of metal. Not plastic, and the interior metal is certainly not perfect, but could easily be re-painted. The back of the metal has some light surface rusting. There are a few scuff marks here and there, and the solid wood top has some slight hairline cracks. I tried to show all of the imperfections in the pictures. Antique Small Brass Fireplace Tool Set Jester's Head Tops Figural Vintage Rare
Extremely unusual and very cute. Small antique figural fireplace tool set made of brass. The set consists of a main stand with three tools that hang from the top. There is a cute small shovel. A brush and tongs. The finial on the main stand is a jester's head that looks kind of medieval and very detailed. The top of the shovel and brush is also the same figural jester head with a loop at the top of the middle point of his hat so that it can hang from the hook. The tongs look like a large pair of scissors and are very heavy for their size. The highest point on the set which is the actual stand with the jester on its top measures 17" tall. The shovel is 9 1/2" high. The brush is also 9 1/2" and the tongs are 10" Condition is good vintage considering its age. The round base of the main stand is open at the bottom and ... morehas a few minor knicks or bents here and there. Not that noticeable. The brush has lost some of its bristles on the bottom from previous use, and the shovel and tongs have blackened areas towards their bottom part from previous use in the fire. We have not attempted to clean anything on the set and we are selling it in its as found antique condition. The tongs also have a problem at their joint area where they do not close properly.
