Here we have a wonderful old vintage collectible USA FD Military firefighter's helmet. Probably from the 1940's or so. In used vintage condition. I believe it was made by the Mine Safety Appliances Company in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania. In used condition. Looks like it used to be black but was painted red at some point. These are very hard to find and are now obsolete. Looks like it is made of bakelite, a type of plastic used back then. Leather strap. Must have seen a lot in it's day. Badge on the front says USA, FD. Badge looks like it is leather. Ring on the back for hanging it up. Very neat old helmet and very collectible. Free shipping in the USA only.

Arts and Crafts Owl Handled Fire Tools, Early 20 C. Antiques, 3 Tools with Stand
These are early 20th C. Arts and Crafts owl handled fire tools with a matching stand. These sets are often attributed to Rostland Manufacturing Company. Milford, CT, but I am not sure of their maker. The stand is marked"651-1" MADE IN USA" The set is missing a brush that would have sat on the rear of the stand. The poker, tongs and shovel are 26.5"L, and the stand is 27"H with a 9.5"x7" base. There is significant oxidation of the finish from use in a fire place. Further, the stand's handle turns slightly, but this does not affect its use. The tools and stand are well made. Gerstenslager was the primer builder of Rescue apparatus from the 1940s through the 1970s, While some of these vehicles shared cowl chassis with commercial vehicles others, the larger ones shared components with bus and motor home chassis. Although the test is suppose to be"Standard" a close examination shows that the amount of hose layout and the Nozzle bore size has a great effect on pump volume. Also before the war(1939) new standards were proposed to measure the volume of water at 150 Pounds of pressure. However because of the war the increase bas postponed and then reintroduced again in 1949. Some departments adopted the 150 pound standard and it is identified on this test sheet.these 150 pound pumper became known as Class A pumpers and the Class B pumpers continued to run at 120 pounds during test. VERY RARE - ANTIQUES - COLLECTIBLES - FIRE-LESS COOKER
This is an extremely Rare Fire-Less Cooker. It was made by The Diller Manufacturing Co. Bluffton Ohio. circa 1910} It stands 16 inches tall, 12 inches diameter, and weighs almost 20 pounds. The exterior appears to be Galvanized Metal, the interior is Aluminum lined. These containers were extensively used by farmers, cross country travelers, and later, during WW I, by the Army to feed the Troops in the field an occasional hot meal. Food was partially pre- cooked by the field cook or farmers wife and placed inside in metal containers. Two very hot flat soapstones were also placed inside the insulated container{top& bottom} and the unit was transported to the Hay Field or The Isolated Battlefield Crew in a Fox-Pit.
