The three adjustable shelves each measure 9” in depth and 41 ¼” in width. This is truly one of the most beautiful Victorian Secretaries of its kind that we have had the privilege to offer. You will notice that there is some faint writing on the back of the piece(see the e-Bay photo) that probably indicates either the maker or the person for whom the piece was made. From what we can see it is signed M. Hall, Hannibal, MO. The details on this Secretary are absolutely wonderful! This beautiful Secretary is constructed of mahogany. And flame mahogany over a secondary wood and the details are exquisite! The bookcase top is graced with a beautiful open arch top with a lovely center foliate carved pedestal that is surrounded on each side with elegant applied scroll land leaf adornments. Up for sale is this beautiful restored large antique victorian roll top steamer trunk with key. It measures 35" long by 22 1/4" wide and 25" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained with minwax"cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane(light sand in between coats) The interior lining has been removed and the wood was sanded then stained. The trunk shows obvious aesthetic signs of age but these details give it the perfect patina and look. The structure of this trunk is solid and it is functional as a coffee table, blanket chest, etc. A great piece with tons of character that will be the focal point of any room. It is in original untouched condition and could do with a bit of care and attention. The two brass panels have embossed flower and fruit decoration with brass bead borders. A section of which is missing on the left door, and most on the right door. The shovel is missing from the back and there are yea rs o f minor knocks which add to the wonderful patina. The metal liner has lost its handle and has a piece of wire as a replacement. Otherwise it is very sound and working well. My photography skills do not do the item justice. Untitled Document Purchased at a recent estate sale in NC full of fine antiques. This beautiful ornate trunk was a nice rare find. It has many exquisite and elaborate details. Please see images. It measures 23" tall. 30" wide and 17.5" deep. A collector's item! Looks great for its age though it does have some wear. The only parts I notice missing on the exterior are one of the leather handles and it did not come with a key. There is a name written on the right side. See photos to judge condition. It has its caster wheels. Overall it is very nice and I believe everything is original. The inside seems to be original and in very good shape for the age. I can't even communicate how beautiful this chest is! All the painting you season the top. Sides, and front of the chest, is original! It needs a good wax job and a few spots need touch up on the edges- but it's so magnificent! It's great for an office. Bedroom, your cottage, or a nursery! It measures about 40" w x 18" d x 29" h. Short, Spring-Loaded Trunk Lock T-46 Nice Patina, with key and screws
I bought these brass plated. Spring-loaded short locks when I was building replica steamer trunks in the early 1970s. They have a natural aged patina. The lock in the photo is typical. The locks in my inventory are the same age so the patina is pretty constant. The one you receive will be this one or a very similar lock. Each lock comes with a key and wood screws with brass painted heads to install the lock.

For friends. In the early 1960's family brought this from Asia. It was known as"the rich bride chest" in the family. Now downsizing. No longer will have the space. Up for your consideration is a beautiful piece of wall art made out of the internal parts of a 1889 Western Cottage organ. The frame is hand made and the rest is actually all made out of organ parts. Antique Beals & Selkirk Steamer Chest / Trunk
Antique(circa 1890- 1910) steamer trunk by one of the luxury brands of its time. Beals& Selkirk. The company was founded in 1889 in Detroit before relocating to Wyandotte. Michigan a few years later. The trunks produced by Beals and Selkirk were considered to be amongst the finest of their time. These trunks were built to withstand the toughest of handling. They were reinforced with leather or metal corners, straps, bumpers. handles, hinges, and locks. After the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 left thousands of people homeless, Beals and Selkirk sent 6 carloads of trunks. They also mass produced a simpler style for the army during WWI and WWII. By the 1920's, the Beals and Selkirk company shifted from trunks to handbags, appliance covers, and doctors' bags. This particular trunk is is good working order. But is in need of restoration ... morein order to bring it back to its original condition. Obviously with its age. It has some bumps and bruises but still has lots of value, history, and would be a great center piece as-is. Beautiful Antique c19th Coromandel Portugese Colonial Brass Strapped Chest & Key
A stately Portugese colonial influence 19th century chest. Hand chased brass strapping to each corner with a spectacular central brass escutcheon. Solid brass tear drop handles at either end and four spandrels in matching chased brass on the lid surface. I believe the carcass is oak. There being a great weight to cupboard, while the surface is finished in the highly collectible coromandel wood, with its unique striated grain. The front right door is secured by a hidden two lever lock. And comes with an associated early 19th key which works the lock comfortably. The left door is secured shut by a concealed brass sliding lock, inset in the rear base of the door. The large brass escutcheon spanning both doors anchors the right door over the left with a smart little beveled overhang. Good quality design in this piece. The interior is completely ... morecovered in coromandel wood and revealed by the two robust doors is an adjustable shelf which can be positioned in either the higher or lower slot as required. And five smart little drawers well suited to stationery and trinkets. Perfect for a study. The patina is literally splendid. There being a high sheen all over the chest. Alligator Embossed Steamer Trunk 1872-1900 This slightly domed trunk with simulated alligator“hide” dates from 1872 to 1900 based on its patent dates and appointments. It is constructed of pine box framing with horizontal hardwood slats. The decorative tin is embossed with an alligator pattern and the trunk is secured with steel. Tin and brass hardware. Although its exact age is undetermined. The trunk’s hasp hardware shows a patent date of July 9, 72. Therefore, it’s fair to estimate from its overall construction and appointments that this steamer probably was manufactured between 1872 and 1900. A unique feature of this trunk is that the two front hasps have small levers that allow the lid to be secured in the closed position. The lock tongue is missing, and was not replaced in the restoration, but the lock plate when cleaned revealed brilliant ... morebrass details. This trunk is lightweight and measures 24 inches long. 14 inches wide, and 15 inches high at its crown. In the refinishing. The plain paper that lined the interior and lid was removed and the inside was cleaned, sanded and finished with two coats of clear satin polyurethane to preserve the natural color of the pine. A new floor of cedar was installed and a new tray was built and stained Early American. The exterior was refinished by sanding and wire brushing the tin. Then treating it with rust inhibitor and painted with Rustoleum Satin Black. The hardwood slats were cleaned, sanded, and finished with tung oil, with steel wool between coats to enhance the finish. The embossed“alligator” tin was cleaned and wiped with Minwax Dark Walnut stain to restore its original finish. It was then sealed with tung oil to create its natural look. This rare large(36"W x 21"D x 29"H, not including lid) old(1880's) barrel stave top style Saratoga trunk with metal edge binding and trim, double hasp brass lock and iron latches. It has five hardwood slats across the top and two across the front, rear and both sides. The body is thick pine and was probably covered in leather when new. The original working lock with spring loaded key cover and barrel key were made by Star Lock Works of Philadelphia. The ornamental cast metal clamps on the slat ends as well as the cast iron latches on the front were patented by Charles Taylor in 1877& 1878. These keys are Marked with the Sargent trademark signature that were marked at time of production. Each Key is marked or stamped with a different number and the bits are all different. It has been restored inside and out and is super-clean and ready to use. The trunk is very solid and sturdy. It is made from oak and the exterior is covered in tin and has metal trim with oak slats. It has all of its original hardware. The trunk measures 34.5 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 24 inches high. And it weighs 64.5 pounds. The exterior has been thoroughly sanded. The tin has been primed and finished with two coats of black paint. The oak slats have been refinished with two coats of tung oil as has all of the exterior hardware and other metal parts. Both of the levers that lock the latches work fine. Both of the handles ... morehave been replaced with very similar leather handles. The bottom was sanded and finished in black. All four of the original metal roller wheels on the bottom of the trunk are intact. The entire inside of the trunk and the oak tray have been sanded and refinished with two coats of polyurethane. The lid for the tray has been recovered in Victorian-pattern cloth. There is a reproduction Victorian chromolithograph on the top of the inside of the trunk lid. The lock is solid brass. Fabulous 1800's Antique Doll or Child's trunk. In great shape for it's age- very sound structure and no mildew or musty smell. Measures in inches approximately: 9.75 D X 16 W X 11.5 H. Has been in the family since the early 1970's. Features: Small wooden chest of square design with lovely red/brown lithograph paper bearing beautiful designs. Inside there is a removable. 2 compartment top tray. Tray rails are solid and existing. Tray fits firmly and is supported. All metal stays are solid and in place. Paper covering is original. No mildew or musty smells. Metal features are not damaged nor bent. Lid closes firm and completely aligned. Hinge tight. Straight and completely aligned. Inside. Hinge to keep lid from closing unexpectedly(I have not confirmed if hinge locks fully extended, but the lid holds itself up just fine with ... morethe hinge nearly extended to full position) Noteable known defects- see pictures. Leather side handles are missing. Water stains at the bottom. But no water damage inside Some missing paper at edges. Some edges and a section on top. Crack on top of lid and another one on one side. Depression in front side of tray. About the size of a finger. Edge wear. Including an exposed nail. No key- have not tried to latch the lock. Note: A long time ago a piece of paper covering. The size of a nickel came off and was stored inside the chest. I don't know where it came off from. It's included in case you wish to mend it somewhere. Antique Steamer Trunk Dome Top keenan brooklyn New York 1800s
Very nice wood dome top trunk in untouched vintage condition. Has part of the original label that refers to the keenan company that made high end trunks and luggage in downtown New York City from the Mid to Late 1800s. Please see all pictures for detail. This trunk may need some work to it and may need a little fixing up if desired by new owner. I think it looks great the way it is with the exception of maybe new handles. The gallery inventory card states it could be 19 th century and from the New England region. The chest as numerous knicks. Scratches, etc. There is a metal lock but no key. The sides have metal handles. The inside lid is pretty neat. It has a bunch of tied knots and labels indicating the knot’s type. When I pulled out the crocheted blankets I found a big. Family owned piece for several generations. Age not exactly known, but came over from England. Email for questions or more pics. This item is local pickup only, Here is Appraisal description- A Victorian chest of drawers. The three moulded frieze drawers above a deep drawer and three long drawers, the carved terminals with pilasters. Measurements: Height: 39 inches. Width: 46 inches, Depth: 20 inches. Date: Second half 19th century. This chest of drawers is in nice condition. The underside of the base may show ghosting from former feet if these attachments originally existed. This piece shares many of the characteristics found in British and American items of this category from this period of manufacture and it is not possible to verify the origin as British. The wood is difficult to verify from the images. Both countries produced these pieces ... morein mahogany but if it were found to be maple it would confirm that the chest is American as maple was not in prevalent use for furniture making in the UK at that time.

Old piece of domed leather luggage(is it a suitcase or a trunk? made by the Henderson Ames Co. for proper storing a Knights Templar Uniform. The name of member Brook Edmonston. Part of Comdy No.19 KT of Vallejo, California appears on the side of the case. The leather is embossed in an oval above the latch with: Henderson Ames Co. Kalamazoo, Mich. I believe it to be made between 1893 and 1923, as that appears to be the active dates for the company. Suitcase measures approximately 22" wide X 12 1/2" deep X 11" high. This auction is for a gorgeous wooden antique trunk insert- hat box? and it also comes with a beautiful early plush hooded hat. This lovely antique box measures about 8 1/2" tall x almost 10 1/2" wide and it is 11" deep. It is paper lined on the front and on the top(the simple design is lovely) and the pretty lady on the top is really stunning. This ancient wooden trunk box is incredible for its age. It is very neat and clean on the inside and the outside has age appropriate wear and tear and I can't say enough about how well this old box displays. Nice Antique Canvas Trunk with Antique Clothing
This is an incredible find! It is an antique travel trunk with some antique clothing inside and it seems to be made of canvas over cardboard? and it has an ancient leather(broken) handle on the top(and there is also a strip on the bottom) and some leather pieces on the corners as well(one is missing. The inside is paper lined on each end and the cover is too- and then the canvas is on the rectangular bottom and on the cover as well. It measures 22" x 11.5" and it is 8" tall. It has the most wonderful look to it and I was told that it is from the late 1800's but I don't know that for sure. It is in amazing condition for its age except it has discolored with age. It has some soil spots, marks, gouges, dings, lots of wear, rust spots, tears, water marks, etc. but even with all of these things that I have mentioned it is ... morestill a very beautiful piece and I can't say enough about how beautifully it displays. It has a wonderful red, white& blue American Express Co. decal on one end and it looks like someone wrote Belfast on it and then there is a label with a hand written name on it with very beautiful writing but it is hard to tell what the name is.
