Antique 1877 Hump Back Doll Child's Steamer Toy Trunk Miniature Salesmans
Antique dome top style miniature trunk. The small trunk may have been a child's doll trunk or possibly a salesman's sample. The brass lock has patent dates of March 69 and April 77. The circa 1877 trunk measures about 15 1/2" long x 10" wide x 12 1/2" tall. As pictured. The trunk has the original leather handles and interior tray. The exterior of the trunk has stamped metal with flower designs. The antique trunk is in original condition with leather intact handles and rollers on the bottom. No rust through was found on the metal. The interior paper has wear and the tray has old inactive insect damage. There is no other insect damage to the trunk. Only the back side of the tray. The metal was cleaned with a brass brush and the slates were refinished. The side wood panels were also refinished; there may have been paper ... moreon the sides at some point. Antique & Primitive Six Board Footed Painted Pine Blanket Chest, Box, Trunk 47"
I get most of my items at estate auctions and sell them in an"as found" condition. I do no repairs. Alterations and very little cleaning. This is done in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible. Because the items I sell can come from anywhere. I can't guarantee they all come from smoke free environments. DESCRIPTION: The existing color is mustard but there are several colors underneath. Including a coat of blue and another coat of salmon. One of those two is probably the original color of the chest. It is not a dove-tailed chest but it's tight and sound. It does have damage on one of the corners of the lid(see photos) and there is some evidence that some gouges on the lid were filled at one time, and not an expert job. The piece is old enough that the the hand plane marks can be felt on ... morethe interior. The piece probably is no more recent than the mid 1800's and could be older. It is about 47" in length, 16" in width and about 17 1/4" in height. It comes straight from a farm barn near Odessa, Missouri. The metal handles are original but the hinges are not and do not match. Please do not ask for this item to be shipped. It is for local pick up only. No exceptions. A handling charge of $1.50 is included in the domestic shipping costs. Rare Antique Iron Bound Wooden Traveling Trunk - Mid 19th Century - Coffee Table
This is a rare 19th century wooden trunk in wonderful condition. This wooden trunk has a rich. Dark hue and is bound with iron straps. The rich patina and rivets attest to the age of the trunk. The hand forged handles on each end of the trunk are in perfect condition. The heavy iron hinges and latches are reminiscent of medieval iron pieces. The interior of the trunk is in very nice condition and features fine natural wood. This trunk is still in spectacular condition because it was built by skilled craftsmen. It remains a strong and sturdy piece and has no real damage of any kind. It measures 49 1/2" long x 28 1/2" wide x 20" high. I believe the original latches were altered at some point, but the trunk is all original and will be a fine piece for many years to come. Antique Primitive Lift Top Pine Blanket Chest Red Wash Country
Antique primitive or country blanket chest with bracket feet. Simple six-board construction with an unusual half-moon cutout to create the feet at each end. The lift top is held in place by modern steel H-Hinges and a brass finished rest that keeps it from reclosing unexpectedly. Beautiful aged red wash finish. There are large iron nails holding the chest together that look like they are handmade. This piece is in good condition. Especially considering its age. There is a split to the wood near the back of the lid as well as a little bit of separation at the joints. The nails have also come out of the wood a little bit. There are what look like water marks to the finish as well, including splatter marks on one end. Up for consideration is a very nice restored victorian trunk. It has been cleaned well inside and out. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. The inside has been tastefully recovered. It has dated latches that read" July 1. 73. Inside the trunk the lid stay is also dated 1870. Though it has been gutted. You could reline this if you wish. Evidence of some moisture damage on the bottom with warp and stains on the wood panels. The outside lid has a black silhouette of dancers. The wood is a walnut? dark stain. Not sure what is the wood. The thickness of the wood around the edges is about 5/8" The bottom panels are thin. The lid inside is nice with a convex print of George Washington and people dancing. The print in the frame measures approx 10" x 7.25" The inside ... moreof the lid is nice too. This is 19th century hand dovetailed domed top pine chest with old gray paint and traces of red. The name"Louis Becher" is painted on the side and top. The chest is a really nice medium size(39.5"W. 17"H, 18"D) it could be placed on a large table or on the floor. The exterior shows prolonged signs of use, but the interior is extremely clean. The hardware is all original but there is a missing clasp on the lock. It is very solid, the hinges work well, and it is otherwise completely functional. This auction is for a beautiful antique ABC Paper Litho Doll Trunk with the Alphabet and Children playing and it is older than the hills. It measures 14" long x 8 1/4" wide and it is 9" tall. It still has its two leather handles( one on each end) and it is in well worn condition but even so it has the most wonderful look to it. It has paper loss and paper wear- it is tarnished around the hardware and the metal trim. It has gouges, rips, dents, tears, scratches, dings, soil spots, lifting paper, cracks, splits, etc. in other words age appropriate wear and tear- and it still displays really well. Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Working Lock & Key & Tray
Beautiful Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk with Working Lock. 2 Keys and Tray My husband and I have refinished over 100 trunks. Each one is a treasure of its own. The history of each trunk dates back as early as the 1 800's. Each has its own unique story. While owning a trunk of your own. You can enhance the tradition and legacy with your own family. This is a very nice refinished flat top steamer t runk. The particular d iminsions for this are 30 1/4" length. 18 1/2" width and 20 1/2" heig ht. We refinished this particular trunk by taking off the old canvas covering and all paper on the inside. Next we sanded the wood on the entire trunk. Inside and out. A fter t his. We applied 2 layers of tung oil to the trunk and tr ay. After lots of research on rest oration. We have found that it is better to finish old wood ... morewith tung oil as it helps preserve the wood from drying and cracking from the inside out. The trunk has some typical small stress marks and small stress cracks which are common in wood of this age. Next we painted all metal parts of the trunk with a black or gold leaf paint. We then attached 2 new Amish made brow n leather hand l es. We also put on a new lock with 2 working keys. Th is trunk also ha s the two original latches newly painted and working properly.Attached to the lid of this trunk is the original stay so it will remain opened when wanted. Included with this trunk is the original tray. Newly sanded and finished. Working the way down to the b ottom there are 4 original metal casters that are securely in p lace and working properly. Up for auction today we have a lovely refinished antique Ca. 1860's Jenny Lind Style Trunk that has been refinished inside and out. Originally leather covered. The old dried leather was removed and the wood sanded smooth and treated with Old English Stain and Tung Oil. No handles and the lock does not work. The inside is gorgeous and ready to hold all your treasures, secrets, old love letters, photo albums, etc. Lined with fresh cotton fabric, quilted top and bottom. A trunk this age is not perfect and I have taken photos of all angles of this beauty. The back right side is missing some of the metal banding, trunk is solid- measures 30 x 17 x 16 inches. Antique Oak Chest or Trunk c. 1800's Country Folk Primitives
Wonderful antique oak trunk or chest. Six-sided construction with molding around the bottom. Overhanging top has a raised panel inside a frame made using mortise and tenon joints. A small smooth notch has been carved into the front to allow the user to lower the lid without crushing their fingers. Sturdy wrap-around hinges hold the lid in place and interior corner-braces help keep the trunk solid. A more recent looking chain is also attached between the trunk body and lid. This piece has a ton of character and has definitely been put to use during its time. Probably dates from the mid to late 1800's Although it has some obvious wear. Including dents and dings, paint marks and other cosmetic damage, the piece is in very good condition. The entire trunk stands 17.5" tall. It is 19 1/4" wide and 31.5" long. This item is a very nice small metal flattop steamer trunk. It measures 28" x 14.5"x 18" It has the new leather handles. Someone painted this trunk red. We did not change it. The front bottom section has four paint chips shown in picture 9. Even with the paint chips this is a very nice little trunk. It has been lined inside with quilt batting and black and red floral pattern material. This is a very nice little trunk, which would make any little girl a very nice Christmas present. Immigrant Dome Top Chest Trunk, Lake City, MN Nord Amerika painted address
This large trunk has a beautiful patina. It appears to be in excellent condition with the noted scuffing and scratching that comes with age and transport. The paint in the address is bold and bright. Hardware is all there and has a beautiful patina. Large key is original to the trunk. Hinges are sturdy. Has been used for the past 20 years as a blanket chest. Measurements: 44.5 inches in length 19.5 inches in width 13.5 inches deep 21.5 inches from base to top of dome Base of chest measures 45 inches in length and 18 inches in width Handles measure 4.25 inches in width. Antique Oak 2 Drawer Chest Black Painted Sides Country Style
This antique two-drawer chest has tons of character. The wood looks like oak and has been painted black on the sides and around the drawers on the front. Panelled sides and an overhanging molded top as well as molding at the base. Drawers have intricately designed metal pulls and there are circular wooden escutcheons surrounding the two keyholes. Sorry. No keys! The drawers have been assembled with strong doweled joints. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. The front corners of the overhanging top have broken away and there is also damage to the framing of the drawer fronts on both sides. Paint and finishes look original, but have some significant wear to them. There are also some small holes in the top that look like they were made by nails. The chest stands is 23" ... moretall and measures 42" long and 20" wide. It has the ne leatherl handles. Thomasville Replicas Collection 1800's Four Drawer"Massachusetts Chest" of drawers. It appears to be pine wood and could be used in any room. I have set the TV on it, placed it in the foyer, bedroom, etc. There are great details, inset drawers, English style bun feet, gorgeous solid brass hardware and a very slight white wash to the finish. I took a picture of the dovetailed drawers. There is a mar on the inside of a drawer that does not affect the use. Drawers open and close well. Sorry about the shadows on the photos! The piece has the numbers#16911-350 on the back and says Oak. But I believe that is the stain color. I believe it was built in the 1980's as a document reproduction for this collection. Though it is in good condition. There are some drops of faint red(candle wax? and a few slight blemishes on the top and ... moreleft top corner. There are surface scratches from use. Dimensions are 39" tall x 37" wide x 19" deep. On my home weight scale. It weighs between 95 and 100 pounds, but I cannot promise that it is accurate.
