Crouch and Fitzgerald New York Low Profile Steamer Trunk Monogrammed Luggage
This auction is for the above athentic. Turn-of-the century monogrammed Crouch and Fitzgerald low profile steamer trunk. Crouch and Fitzgerald trunks are highly sought after, especially this style. Amazingly, this trunk still has the original lined tray. This trunk is in amazing condition; it does of course show some bumps and bruises from over 100 years of use. As you can see from the photos, the original leather handle have rotted away. The original key is also missing, but can be replaced. The outside measurements of the trunk are as follows: 36" long, 12" tall and 20" wide. Please view photos for actual condition and age. Photo 12 is the bottom of the trunk. This beauty is a 1850s to 1860s Hat Trunk made by master trunk makers Crouch& Fitzgerald. The exterior was originally leather. But was mostly missing so I replaced it. The rest of the trunk is original and everything works great including the working lock(with key) The interior is just as the original and it is amazing!
