The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Beautifully restored antique dome-top steamer trunk. Metal sides and top are embossed with an intricate floral design and braced with oak slats. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with floral braces at the corners. Metal lock and fasteners and front. Two leather side handles have their original wear and really emphasize the age and history of this piece. The inside of the lid has a charming decoupage design. This piece is both decorative and practical for storage. It most likely dates from the late 1800's This piece has been restored and is in very good condition. There is. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. The tin accents are peeling off in the corners. There are nicks to the corners and edges, and done wood damage around the clasp(see photos) The lining is in excellent shape! Gorgeous Unique& Rare Condition Antique Steamer Trunk Amazingly this is a steamer trunk that had never been painted. Also had embossed tin, and still had the beautiful green enamel paint intact that the embossed tin was originally painted with! Also the trunk still has both handles intact. Neither look like they have been replaced, and it still has its original tray Even more exceptional. The trunk has a working LOCK& KEY: even the bottom of the trunk is in totally blean unrusted almost perfect condition. Even has a labeled where it was shipped at least one time from Danville KY in the 1920's I would estimate however that the age of the trunk is more around the late 1800's The trunk has been thoroughly cleaned& conserved. Up for consideration is a beautiful humpback embossed(shell pattern) steamer trunk. The shell pattern metal is zink and was cleaned well to show original luster. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. Antique Steamer Trunk Dome Top Embossed Metal Hardwood Slats
We recently purchased this attractive antique steamer trunk at an estate sale. It has a very slightly domed top and it's covered with embossed metal in a floral design. The trunk still has both of its original leather handles and they seem to be pretty sturdy. It measures approximately 30 1/2" long X 17" wide X 19" high at its highest point near the center. The tray for the inside of the trunk is missing. The hardwood slats on the trunk look to be in good condition and all of the metal and wood on the trunk is all held in place with brass plated tacks. The bottom of the trunk is covered with black metal and 3 hardwood slats that have done a great job of protecting the trunk over the past 100+ years. There are four(4) tiny metal wheels near each corner on the bottom which makes it easier to move around on any hard flat surface. ... moreThe key is missing for the old brass lock and we're not 100% positive that the lock is functional so it will arrive open. There are two(2) hinges on the back that hold the lid securely to the bottom and there are two metal clasps that keep it closed tightly in front, one of these is bent and does not close properly, it will need to be repaired. There is quite a bit of surface rust on all the metal on the outside of the trunk but there is no rust through and there are no holes visible. The inside is clean and dry and it retains its original paper lining. Most folks like to remove the old paper, sand down the interior and then either seal the wood or line the trunk with cedar, this eliminates any lingering musty odors and makes it a nice place to store blankets or seasonal clothing at the end of your bed. Trunks like this are becoming very difficult to find and eventually I'm sure they will be extremely rare. Their uses are many and will only be limited by your imagination. Antique Small Dome Top Hump Back Steamer Trunk w/ Tray Embossed Tin& Wood Description: Up for sale is this great old small sized Dome top or Hump Back trunk! This trunk measures 24 1/4" x 14 x about 17" tall. As you can see from the photos on the left this trunk has been painted sometime in its past. The bottom tin is black in color with four embedded wheels near the corners. This leads us to believe that the original color of the tin on this trunk was black. You can see in the closeup that this trunk is covered with an embossed floral patterned tin covering held in place with wood straps with very ornate angle pieces at the corners. This trunk has 2 latches and one hasp type lock. Unfortunately the key for this lock is long gone. The hasps both close snugly but appear to be a little fragile. At one time there were leather handles ... moreon either side of this great old trunk. One side still has a little of the handle left. But the other sides handle is gone. The inside of the trunk is natural wood without any covering. The tray still feels pretty solid. There is one knot hole in a side as shown in the photo and most of the original paper covering is still in place. 1800s Camel Back Steamer Trunk with Embossed Tin
This beautiful Victorian Camel Back Steamer Trunk is in great condition to be used or to add to a collection. From what I have read about the trunks. They say that the camel back trunks were moreso purchased by the wealthy because they wanted their items stored on top of the stagecoaches or ships when they were traveling so they wouldn't get damaged. I am not sure of the maker of the trunk but the lock was made by Eagle Lock Company from Terryville, Connecticut that was established in 1833. The outside of the trunk has black tin along with an embossed Grecian pattern tin and wooden trim slats. The inside is wood with the original wooden tray and lined with paper, which some of the paper in the trunk has come loose. The leather handles are missing along with two of the wheels on the bottom. This auction is for a very beautiful vintage dome top Steamer Pirate trunk. It has a very pretty pressed tin design(blue) mixed in with the oak wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece It would look great in any area! It is a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are attached still! The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk. Both of the side front locks work well. There are no interior drawers. Wonderful antique steamer trunk from family estate. Was my great-aunt's piece. In very good condition for it's age(late 1800's) This trunk measures 30" W x 15 1/2" D x 19 1/2" H. Bent wooden handles are in great condition and solid. Wood slats have a nice rich patina and metal is embossed with shell pattern and shows no rust. Original rollers on bottom, but at some point, additional rollers added. Trunk sits firmly on these rollers. Interior is in great condition with some peeling wallpaper. I purchased the antique steamer trunk at an Auction in the Atlanta area and the Auctioneer said the trunk was made in the 1800"s. The Antique Trunk is the Steamer style and is wrapped on the outside with metal. I believe it is tin) and trimmed with Oak strips. The Antique Trunk is very nice and you will see the detail when you zoom in. The exterior of trunk has a black, gray and copper color. The Antique Trunk size is:24" tall, 32" long and 19 1/2" wide. Antique Victorian Dome Top Hump Back Steamer Trunk w/ Tray Embossed Tin& Wood Description: Up for sale is this great old small sized Dome top or Hump Back trunk! This trunk measures 24 1/4" x 14 x about 17" tall. As you can see from the photos on the left this trunk has been painted sometime in its past. The bottom tin is black in color with four embedded wheels near the corners. This leads us to believe that the original color of the tin on this trunk was black. You can see in the closeup that this trunk is covered with an embossed floral patterned tin covering held in place with wood straps with very ornate angle pieces at the corners. This trunk has 2 latches and one hasp type lock. Unfortunately the key for this lock is long gone. The hasps both close snugly but appear to be a little fragile. At one time there were leather ... morehandles on either side of this great old trunk. One side still has a little of the handle left. But the other sides handle is gone. The inside of the trunk is natural wood without any covering. The tray still feels pretty solid. Very nice steamer trunk with colorful green embossed flower tin top. Back hinges in good working condition. Center lock[no key] is marked"Eagle Lock Co. Terryville Conn, USA" The two latches located towards the sides of the front work well. Once engaged. They are secured and released by a small lever on the side of the latch. They are marked"Pat Jul 972" The handles are metal and do not appear to be original. But they look very consistent with the trunk and are solidly mounted. All four wheels on bottom are present and still work. There isn't a lift out drawer or hinge stop. The trunk measures approximately 33" long x 18" wide x 24" tall. The trunk weighs 16 lbs[just the trunk- without packaging] I trust you can tell from the pictures that the trunk isn't perfect. But is in very usable condition ... moreas-is. The inside is clean and the over-all vibe is very nice. The green color of the embossed tin is very pleasant. Antique Old Chest Dome Trunk (Steamer) w/ Shelf / Embossed Tin (Grecian Design)
Beautiful antique chest/ trunk dating to around 1890. It is slightly domed and ornately decorated with a beautiful Grecian pattern embossed tin. It still has original shelf. Two latches work and hinges are secure and operatable, nice size to compliment a room and to store those living room blankets. It does have its flaws as one would expect. Two castors are missing. Leather handles of course gone and although it still has most functionality, it is old, the wood has aged(crack in top, but still solid as supported by metal, tin and wood support"things" but should be primarily a decorative piece with moderate storage use. It still has good integrity, just would not want the kids making a fort out of it.Also, the metal is dinged in two places on top and the tin is missing a small(quarter size) spot on top at far rear and is damaged ... morein back(please see pictures) Otherwise the metal is good antique trunk condition, as it is in original condition. It could be refurbished, but considering current appeal, factoring cost it just doesn't make sense. It's 130 years old, we want it to say I'm old, but still good looking. Antique Victorian Child's Dome Top Steamer Trunk Embossed Metal Hardwood Trim
A pretty antique Victorian style hump back steamer trunk that's in good sound condition. We believe it was used by a child based on the size( 24" long X 15" wide X 17" high at the center) It has curved hardwood slats across the top and hardwood slats across the front, sides and back, there are lots of brass tacks holding the wood in place and the wood has a rich warm patina. The body of the trunk is covered with embossed tin and plain black metal. The leather handles are missing but these are inexpensive and can be purchased any of the trunk restoration sites on-line as well as right here on EBAY. It has two clasps on the front to hold it closed and there's a lock but no key, we are not certain that the lock works so it will arrive open. Two sturdy hinges on the back hold the lid securely in place and the lid fits nice ... moreand snug. The inside is nice and dry and there are the remnants of the old paper that it was lined with here and there. Most folks like to sand down the interior and apply a sealant which eliminates any lingering musty odors, another option is to line it with cedar. The bottom of the trunk is metal covered with three wood runners that have done a fantastic job of protecting the bottom. Near each corner on the bottom is a small metal wheel that makes the trunk easier to move around on any hard flat surface. These antique trunks are not often found in such nice condition, there is very little surface rust and and absolutely no rust through on the metal. A great place to store extra blankets, seasonal clothing, toys, hats& mittens, a display piece for an antique doll collection or antique toys. I once sold a trunk to a grandmother who purchased it to send her grandson off to college!

14.00 1800s Antique Victorian Dome– Humpback Top Embossed Steamer Trunk with Tray Up for auction is my great grandmother’s antique humpback trunk which I got from her attic many years ago before the house was demolished. UNRESTORED… so it is all original. Side Leather handles are intact Leather strap by front latch is broken. Three straps on top over the embossed tin. H ardware is there but needs a bit of repair. Approximately 130-140 years old. Nice embossed designs on the tin work on sides. Top, front& back. The Trunk/Chest measures approximately 30 inches long 15 inches wide and about 19 inches high. Antique Small Steamer Trunk Embossed Metal& Wood 14"X11"X9" Inside Repainted
This delightful small trunk came to us from an estate auction out in the country. The outside seems all original but long ago the interior was painted in a cream color and handpainted with leaves and flowers. While we like things to be entirely original. This restoration is just right-nothing fake looking about it. My guess is that the cream color was done 60-70 years ago. There is considerable rust on the lock and the outside metal. 1800s Antique – Humpback All original Tin Embossed Steamer Trunk with Trays
Up for sale is an 1800's tin embossed humpback trunk with original paper lining in very good shape and all original trays with pictures. All in excellent condition. It is black embossed tin with oak strips. All original ornate hardware. All latches work. But there is no key. One of the straps is broken and needs to be replaced while the other is very fragile. It has a all four wheels on the bottom for ease of moving. It measures 34 inches long x 19 inches wide x 22 inches tall at it's highest point. A wonderful family treasure that I have owned and enjoyed for at least 25 years. This is a nice piece that has no flaws except as mentioned and pictured. More pictures available upon request. Dome top steamer chest/trunk. Bride or wedding trunk, or ship/stagecoach travel trunk. Of wood and metal construction, metal embossed outer layer, wood slat trim, most of the original antique hardware embellishments, a number of the pieces stamped Pat Mar 168(may or may not be a partial patent date- please see detail below from a restorer clearly more knowledgeable than I am) ADDITIONAL AND INTERESTING INFORMATION provided by a very nice and knowledgeable Ebayer(a steamer trunk restorer) who indicates. The specific embossing on the tin exterior is referred to as an"alligator pattern" Not very common. Lithographs(yours appear to be original) were not developed and put on trunks until the mid 1800's. Trunks made in the 1600's were made primarily of animal skin.Which rarely survived due to their deteriation. Also that style ... moreof lock was manufactured in mid to late 1800's. Also the embossed tin covering, the 2 front latches with the + were not made until that same time period. What the 3 numbers on the trunk are for, I don't know, but Definetly not a patent# which many trunks have on the lock. All the interior compartments are intact. With original linen-type covering over the compartment lids, with original pictorial lithographs and elaborate borders. Original graphic paper lining also intact on the underside of the compartment lids and the bottom section of the trunk– see condition in photos. The spots of discoloration in places may be rust coming through from the metal; bidder to determine. There are 5 compartments in the upper section– two in the lid, and 3 in the top tray which includes one long compartment across the back(try to ignore the glaring blue felt lining in the compartments and bottom of the trunk, but note that I did not lift it to see what’s underneath) Please check all views of the photos for condition of the outer embossed skin/metal/wood(a few dents and splits in the metal but I didn’t see missing sections anywhere) Missing or replaced hardware(looks like a few pieces are

Antique Embossed Tin Ladies Flat Top Steamer Trunk French Country Coffee Table ?
A sweet Victorian style antique steamer trunk from approximately the late 1800's that was probably used for a son and a daughter when they traveled with their parents. It measures approximately 30" long X 16" wide x 19' high and it's just about the perfect size for a coffee table. It's covered with tin that's embossed with a red floral design and the tin is in very nice condition. There is some surface rust but no rust through. The flat top has beautiful hardwood slats holding the tin securely to the lid and all of the slats are held in place with brass tacks. This trunk comes complete with its original tray which has one covered compartmen, on the inside of the lid and on the cover of the compartment you'll find chromolithographs. The little girl on the inside of the lid is holding a puppy and the little ... moreboy on the compartment cover is wearing a sailor's outfit and he holds a cat. The trunk is lined with paper. The outside bottom of the trunk is covered with black tin which is held in place with 2 plain hardwood slats and it's done a good job of protecting the wood beneath because the inside of the trunk has remained nice and dry. The trunk retains a dry dusty odor that reminds me of the attic in my grandmother's home many many years ago. Most folks like to remove all of the paper inside, sand down the interior and then give it a coat of sealant which eliminates any lingering odors. Others like to line them with cedar. whichever your preference this old gal will surely be a worthy restoration project which will allow you to add additional storage to you home. I currently have a dome top trunk listed that could be this trunk's sister- it has the same red embossed tin but the chromolithographs feature women on the inside of the lid and on the tray cover instead of children. This trunk has dings. Dents, scrapes and other signs of heavy use which you'd expect to see in an antique travel trunk that had been handled as much as these were over the last 100+ years. W

Part of the lid doors is still there, and part is missing. The till is missing. One nice decorative label and some paper trim is still inside. A couple of paperboard labels are tacked to the exterior on the front and the lid. I can't see any markings on them. This is trunk is in reasonably good condition for its age. The exterior shows the character of more than a century of age and use. Which includes cosmetic marks, scratches, scuffs, and oxidation(rust patina) and rust to the metal surfaces(all of which looks cool to me) There are some spots on the exterior that could stand to be cleaned. There are a few missing nails and rivets, plus some ragged edges to the tin that needs to be fixed. The latch on the right is broken on one side, but still works. The metalwork and wood have a decent patina that would look even better if polished or restored. There are four rollers underneath. But they are not very functional. The lock looks functional. Antique Whalen Embossed Tin Ladies Flat Top Steamer Trunk - 1880's
Beautiful Gold and Brown floral embossed tin and wood steamer trunk from the Whalen Trunk Company of New Hampshire. This trunk has to be seen to be appreciated. The embossed floral tin is just stunning and has held up incredibly well for a 120+ year old trunk. The lock is by the Eagle Lock company of Terryville Connecticut. Eagle made all the locks for the Whalen Company. The lock seems to be in working order but needs a key. The side latches are fully functional and work well. everything about this trunk is 100% original including the leather handles which are in impressively good condition. The inside of the trunk shows some typical wear but is also in very good condition. The flap on the insert shelf is present but it has separated from the compartment it covers. This would make an amazing coffee table as is or could simply be a wondersful ... moreshow piece. It could also be a very simple restoration job.
