We purchased some really interesting pieces from this collector as he is downsizing, and this antique oak dresser was refinished about 20-30 years ago, and we did a couple of touch ups. This fantastic oak dresser is in nice condition in a medium oak stain finish. It has two small concave front drawers on the top and a large bow front drawer in the base for plenty of storage. The Victorian dresser has cabriole carved columns coming down into a detail claw foot, panel sides, multi-molded rolled front above the drawers, carved yolks that hold up the mirror.

Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Working Lock and Key
Charming Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key Here is a lovely refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 13 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 inches. This nice trunk consists of poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older distress marks which include nicks and dings mostly concentrated on to the outer slat boards. And a couple of hairline stress cracks in the base wood. This one comes with the original working lock. We have matched up a key that does activate the lock mechanism. The front two latches are original and do work properly since the ... moresprings are intact. The metal parts which make up this trunk are not brass and have there been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles were missing. Someone had drilled small holes in the wood and run rope through these holes to make handles for this trunk. They were rather lousy looking, so we have removed those handles and installed a pair of nice Amish made black leather stitched handles where these rope ones were. These handles are sturdy. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining which was worn out looking and finished the wood with two coats of polyurethane. A nice trunk maker's style picture of a Victorian woman standing in a boat on a pond has been added to the underside of the top. The exterior bottom has normal wear and we have finished the bottom to make it overall cleaner. This trunk could be used as a low coffee table, tv/stereo stand, and/or a storage chest anywhere in your home where storage space is needed. Nice Refinished Jenny Lind Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Key and Tray
Nice Refinished Jenny Lind Style Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key and Interior Tray Here is a Jenny Lind refinished trunk from around the 1860's or so. We found this one already finished by someone else and figured it looked pretty decent. So we figured that we didn't have to refinish it. It is made up of some type of hard wood, possibly poplar and it looks like the wood has been finished with a couple of coats of clearcoat. This one has the traditional brass buttons or rosettes on the thin metal banding. The brass buttons have been polished, probably many years ago, although they are starting to tarnish down where they are not as shiny. Here are the measurements: from left to right across the front is 25 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 1 3 1/2 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 14 1/2 inches. Look at the side view ... morepicture and you will see this trunk has the Jenny Lind hourglass shape where the top angles in at the base and the base flares out a little bit, that slice of bread shape. This one comes with the original lock with the original brass lock plate. We have matched up a key that does work with this lock. These early locks lock every time the lid is closed, so the key is very important to be able to unlock the trunk each time the lid is closed. The side handles are cast iron metal underhand pulls. I don't know if they are old or reproduction, but they do have a figure of a deer embossed in the metal. They were on it when we received it and seemed to be ok for handles, so we have left them in place. Going to the interior, it is made up of rough cut boards. We have given the interior four coats of polyurethane to make it not so dry looking. There is a typical stress crack running across the bottom on the inside. There is also a stress crack running across the top which you can see in the top view picture on the exterior of the trunk and the picture where we show the close up of the brass buttons or rosettes. Working Lock With Key, and Two Original Interior Trays Here is an absolutely beautiful fancy refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. If you have been waiting for the magnificent trunk with a tremendous amount of hardware. Then this one is definitely the one for you. It is hard for us to find trunks throughout the year that are really nice like this one. Here are the trunk's di mensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. Nice Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps & Key
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles and Working Lock& Key Here we are offering you a nice primitive refinished arch top or dome top steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. This one is an arch top since the sides of the trunk at the top are the same height as the center of the top. On dome tops. The center is a little bit taller than the sides. Here are the following dimensions: from left to right across the front is 36 inches. From floor to top is approximately 23 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. This beautiful trunk is made up of rough cut pine base wood with some type of hard wood outer slat boards, maybe poplar or birch. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in it's natural color since we did not use any stain during the refinishing ... moreprocess. We did glue a stress crack on one of the top outer slat boards. We are saying it is primitive since there is more wood showing on this trunk than fancy metal hardware. Also the boards are more crudely put together in which there are some small gaps where they joined the wood together, especially on the inside on the bottom. The rough cut boards that we speak of show the saw blade marks from the saw mill since they were not planed down when this trunk was made. This one comes with the original signed working lock. It is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn U.S.A. We have found a key for this lock that does work properly. The front latches are original. We have run a nice pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top. In addition to the lock and latches, these straps secure the trunk's top to it's base when buckled. The side handles were on this trunk. They are metal. One is roundish in shape while the other one is a little more rectangular. We have shown a picture of the more rounded one. Nice Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key Here is a nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. This one has a very fancy working lock. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 20 1/4 inches. This trunk is made up of pine base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it and make it look nice. The wood is in pretty good condition considering the age of this trunk and there are some typical stress cracks in the base wood. We have shown a close up picture of some of these stress cracks on the top. The majority of the trunks have similar stress cracks. This trunk maker did a nice job of running metal banding ... moreon this trunk. By doing so, it gives the trunk a nice wooden sectioned appearance. Some of the metal banding was missing, so we have filled these areas with glue to make up for the missing banding. The front latches are original cast iron ones and do work properly since the springs are intact. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. The metal parts on this trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. Someone has added a lock hasp on the front of the trunk next to the fancy lock. We decided to leave it there since it appears to be fairly old and you could use a padlock with this hasp to secure the lid of the trunk to the base in addition to the fancy working lock. The lock is fancy in which it has embossed and carved patterns on it. There is a close up picture showing this unique lock. We did match up a key that does work with this lock. We are calling this trunk a flat top, although this trunk has a very slight factory arch to the top which is noticeable in ths close up side view picture. Refinished Civil War Era Dome Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest Very Nice
I am listing a Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Civil War Era Trunk. This trunk is probably from the mid 1870's period. As some of the hardware is marked 1872. T he trunk's dimensions are from left to right across the front- 26 inches. From floor to top is approximately 19 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 15 inches. I have removed all of the original paper that covered this trunk, inside and out. The trunk is made entirely up of pine wood. The wood has been finished with three coats of clear lacquer. The wood is in great shape with a couple of stress cracks in various places which are quite common on trunks this old. This one comes with the original tray. The front latches are also original and do work. The side handles are really unique and quite rare to see anymore. They are made of wood and are usually broke. These ... morere in excellent shape. Going to the interior, I have finished the interior wood with two coats of clear lacquer. The interior is in pretty good condition considering how old this trunk is. The exterior bottom underneath the trunk has normal wear. It also has the four factory original rollers and slats. Antique Refinished Dome Top Trunk, Wood, Nice Present for XMAS!!
Up for auction is this very nice. Rustic looking, dome top trunk with a size of 30x17x19(LxWxH) that has just been refinished. It has been stripped to the bare wood on the inside and out and is a very clean trunk. The one thing I would point out is that there is a crack in the top as show that is just due to age and adds some old time charm to it. Antique Refinished Cabin Steamer Trunk - small nice size
This small trunk is darling. Recently refinished. It is rustic but shows great character and will offer great storage space for all your wonderful treasures. Wood on the outside and lined with a fresh light yellow cotton fabric, this old steamer trunk came from a barn in Western Massachusetts. The top has some age cracks but they have been firmed up on the inside. Originally canvas covered. The old green canvas was removed and the wood sanded smooth. It was treated with Golden Oak stain and Tung Oil, the finish is very nice, smooth flat and not shiny. Measurements are: 30 inches long. 17.5 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall. Great as a coffee table, or under a window for plants. As mentioned the inside is clean and ready to store your favorite collectibles. Photographs, important documents, love letters, etc. The hinges work on the front but ... morethe lock is long gone and does not work. Original lid stay in the trunk for easy opening and closing. Back hinges are strong and very stable. Shipping will be flat fee of $45 dollars for USA-48 STATES. This trunk is not perfect. It has dings and scratches. The handles are long gone- weight is approximately 15 pounds. Rather light and easily picked up when empty. Bottom clean and repainted hunter green- no rust. Have a wonderful day. Antique Refinished Trunk - Ca. 1870's - Gorgeous - 3/4 size - very nice.
Up for auction today we have a gorgeous refinished antique trunk that is a great size trunk for a Loft apartment or for a wedding gift! Dating to the late 1870's to 1880's. This trunk was originally covered with thick leather, what was left of the leather was removed to highlight the gorgeous wood underneath. This size is harder to come by in such great condition. It is not a full size trunk and it is not a half trunk- somewhere in between. Most likely would have belonged to a lady with lots of class. The trunk is very well made, solid and heavy. It is impressive, a perfect trunk for storing winter blankets, pillows, or other seasonal items. The color of the wood is on the darker side. We sanded the trunk several times, then coated it with tung oil and some Early American Stain- then a few coats of clear shellac. The Handles are long ... moregone but have replaced with thick heavy leather ones- you can use them without worry. Original end caps were reused to secure the new handles. Now for the inside- another amazing job by my mom. This fabric is Southwestern style. It is gorgeous. Please feel free to ask for more photos, happy to send them along. Front lock plate is brass and the front hinges date to the late 1860's, and still work. As with any item over 100 years old. There are character dings and scrapes– the trunk is not new and shows wear. Please look at all photos– this one is a looker and will be a nice conversation piece for your home. Many hours of work go into transforming a trunk, but it is a labor of love and the end result is amazing. With a weight of approximately 30 pounds. It measures 24 x 19 x 21 inches and can easily be shipped using FEDEX home delivery or ground service– Shipping will be flat fee of $50.00 to east coast and central USA– if you are West Coast, shipping will be $75.00/which also includes insurance and a new box.
