Just some clarification on your trunk slats. yes, they are old trunk slats, but almost definitely not oak. Although most people will not believe this, most trunk slats were not made of oak, but rather ash and elm. The grain of these looks more like ash because elm has ... morea very wide and swirly grain pattern most similar to oak. Nearly every old trunk catalog and ad says that the slats were hardwood, but they don't say oak. Several trunk catalogs and other historical documents I have specify that they used ash and elm on nearly all trunks. So, if you want to be more historically correct you could include this. This item is a complete set of vintage hardware for a steamer trunk. It contains 1 lock no key. 2 hasps, 3 hinges, 4 bottom rollers, 4 handle caps, 4 top corner pieces, 4 bottom corner pieces, 2 front corner pieces for the lower portion of the trunk, 4 pieces of which 2 attach to the top and front center of the lid, and 2 that attach to the bottom front center, 2 pieces that attach to the bottom center of the sides, 12 slat covers, and I have included 2 new leather handles that are not shown in the pictures. Vintage Corbin Lock with Key Antique Steamer Trunk Hardware Chest Lock
This is the real deal folks! This lock is heavy brass. The pictures don't do justice. But it has a nice swirled brass finish that has the original patina. The dimensions are:3 1/2" wide by 6 3/8" long. Depth with the lock is 1/2" It is labelled Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. New Britain, Conn. with a serial number on the back of 1002.
