Antique Gothic Revival Cast Iron Fireplace Insert Great Detail - Faces - 1800's
Up for auction is an wonderful antique cast iron Gothic Revival fireplace insert from the 1800's. Fireplace insert came from a house located in one of many historic areas in the Cincinnati. OH area. Fireplace front measures approx 30 1/2" x 24 3/4" Rear insert sections measures approx 27 1/2" x 21" Fireplace is in very good condition showing the expected signs of wear for an item of its age. Cast iron was lightly cleaned and the asbestos was removed from the interior and properly disposed of. Five of the screws/bolts holding the front cast iron sections are not original to the piece. Please view and zoom in on all photos to evaluate condition.

Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Grate w/ Insert, Wood or Coal Box Ornate Design
This old 1800's grate was my grandmothers. Who was born in the 1800's and married in 1901. She used this to burn both wood and coal to heat her home. It measures 24"wide X 11" deep X 12 1/2" high. It is in very good condition for a used antique item of this age. It has No broken or missing pieces. I have not found the first bit of damage to it anywhere. It does have some surface rust, especially in the back. The front has little squares across both the top and bottom rim of the box with an ornate floral design down both sides in the front. It has been painted with a light green(sort of sage color) oil based enamel that has partially worn off. It is marked on both sides L for Left and R for Right and the number 24 is on the inside front panel.On the bottom it is marked 24P. Here is a Antique Cast Iron fireplace insert in very good condition for its age. I just purchased this from an estate sale and the owner said its been in the house since he can remember and he was about 50 years old. The piece has numbers on it in the back 1505-18-20 the swivel grate is numbered No.2 230. I can find no other markings. The grate measures 20 inches wide. 18 inches high and 12 inches front to back. The condition is very good no damage I could find just some surface corrosion from use and age. The grate looks like it could come apart with a turn of a heavy screw driver but that looks like it could be an issue from age I don't think they will turn without major cleaning and oiling. I will be shipping this in one piece and wrap the swivel grate separately. GOOD LUCK!

The left leg is broken off near the top as you can see in the last photo. The right leg is broken off at the top behind the top section so the break is actually hidden from the front view. A beautiful original piece. No cracks no parts missing. In good condition.could be painted or left in it's aged patina. Some rust spots. Some pitting.very little. Antique Ornate Cast Iron Fireplace Surround Cover with Insert for Woodstove
This gorgeous Victorian style fireplace surround was acquired many years ago by my folks. They found it while antique hunting or it possibly came from an old home that was torn down in Old Town Alexandria. It probably dates to the 1800's. It has actually been installed in my parents home to cover a fireplace opening and vent a wood stove through it- hence the 6" opening in the insert(which could be covered with something ornate for decorative purposes) We recently removed the wood stove and are now offering this beautiful surround for auction. There are no cracks or splits. Some minor rust in nooks and crannies. There are several small holes(four corners and on insert) which it was mounted through. They could be filled with stove cement. The inside edges have some stove cement residue from sealing the insert to the surround as would ... morebe expected. Antique rustic cast iron fireplace summer cover insert. Pictures an Elk/deer family of three in a"woodsy" setting with sun shining in background. Removed from barn after many years of storage. Hence the heavy rusting. Will need cleaning and TLC beautification. There is a thin. Tight crack on the bottom edge running from the bottom knob down. This is shown close up in the last photo. It measures aprox. 17 1/2" wide across the front. 14 1/2" across the back x 9" deep x 10 1/2" high on the back and 9 1/2" high on front. The bottom grate lifts out for cleaning purposes. Steampunk 1900s CAST IRON GAS FIREPLACE INSERT REZNOR Orthoray Rare Antique Vtg
Steampunk: The gas line could be used for the electrical line coming into the device and two brass balls could be removed and pipes could be connected to those square tubes to form the base for a double-sided steampunk lamp. The weight of the entire device would be sufficient to hold a nice size light fixture. Height about 24 inches. Width about 22 inches. Depth about 12 inches. The cast iron appears to be in good shape. One of the finials on the left side- the brass ball- is cracked. The old ceramic inserts in the fireplace are not perfect. One is cracked in two and one does not appear to be the same as the others. We do not know if the inserts are original. But that should not detract from the beauty of this very old and interesting piece. Inserts are easily replaced. The connections seem to be there; the handle for turning the gas up/ ... moredown seems to be there as well. It is being sold in as is condition; we believe it can be resurrected. VICTORIAN DECORATIVE CAST IRON FIREPLACE COVER INSERT NEOCLASSICAL GODDESS
Please scroll down under this description for additional views.Late Victorian or Edwardian era decorative cast iron fireplace insert or"summer cover" as many people call them since they were used to cover the black hole of the fireplace opening during the warm months when it was not in use every day. These covers were just another element of pattern and design that helped to keep the room clean and perhaps keep the occasional bird out of the house. 1358" is the design number embossed on the back of this piece which measures 26 3/4" tall. 20" wide. The top center is slightly bowed and has a depth of 1 1/4" The background has a hammered texture and is decorated with swags of ribbon with trailing bellflowers on the ends. The oval cartouche in the center shows a Classically garbed woman playing a pair of twin pipes ... morewhile a cherub dances and another peers over her shoulder. Perhaps she is Euterpe the Greek muse of music. There is very good detail to the casting and it does remind me of a jasperware piece with the raised Classic design. The front has old gold metallic paint that is worn but is not so built up that it blurs the imagery. There is some surface rust on the back that can be wire brushed off. The bottom knob is missing, leaving a little hole where it was mounted. Up for sale here is a Cast iron fireplace mantle trim insert.This is a beauty. This Insert came off of a 1920's Arts and Crafts Mantle. This insert is in fantastic condition with just a very small place with some minor surface rust only.There are no breaks. Bends, or other obvious defects that I can find. It comes complete with the log holder and original hookups for it. There are lots of very ornate deigns and decorations all over and even on the log holder itself. Very neat and unusual Antique Victorian Cast Iron Fireplace Insert Surround with a Snowflake Design. Condition is very good for this 1800's piece. Measures 30 1/8" tall x 24 5/8" wide. Inside opening is 25" tall and 14 7/8" wide. On the back of this Fireplace Cover there are the numbers 18 with space between and 40. The light grey residue on the back is cement residue that was used to affix it to the fireplace. Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Insert With Brass Finials
Super Victorian fireplace insert with brass finials. Beautifully decorated with two fancy columns that have a nice leaf pattern across the top and down the sides. Removable cast iron feet. Has a small crack in it's back so it should probably be used for decorative purposes only. The brass needs polishing. This piece is very heavy and it does not fit into a modern fireplace opening. As you can see by the photos I was not able to push it back all the way. It made a nice focal point for my old gift shop and it looked great with a huge poinsettia plant in it during the holidays. I always thought that it would look at home in an old brownstone in New York. Has some rust after spending the last couple of years in my garage. These are a pair of lovely rusted Americana Fireplace Inserts. This pair weighs 20.4 pounds and they each measure 19 and 1/2" tall by 7 and 3/4" wide by 20" deep. These items will be taken apart by their thumb screws for shipping. These andirons do show some rust and wear present however there are no breaks or repairs present.
