You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. RARE Antique Vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Travel Chest Case w/ History
Incredible opportunity to own a piece of history- antique steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. It has traveled the world and although many of the vintage stickers have faded as you can see in one photo there is one that shows a date of 1936. The trunk measures 22.25 x 22 x 40 inches on the outside. As you can see in the photos it opens standing up and has one side with a hanging wardrobe(total 6 hangers. 3 for pants and 3 for shirts or jackets) The other side is a chest of four drawers in varied sizes- the top has a divided compartment. The trunk closes and opens well, the lock is separate and has been stored in one of the drawers as you can see in the last photo. The trunk is quite heavy and is available as local pickup only. This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. Up for auction is a early 1900's steam trunk luggage made by Winship Migrator. This trunk is made of solid wood and leather. The hardware does have light surface rust as this is easy to clean with steel wool. The leather is scratched. Cracking, and coming up in some places. One of the 2 handles are broke. all the latches work and this does come with three origional wooden hangers. One of the hangers does have a chip in the wood. This is a real time treasured piece! The inside does looks great. It may have a light stain or two and some slight dust as this is normal for it's age of around 100 years old. It measures 29.5 x 9 x 20.5 inches.

This fine trunk is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made with the same quality workmanship as the famous much more expensive ones. This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. All of the metal corners and hinges, and the tack reinforced edges are in good shape with no breaks. The lock has been removed but the hinge is intact, and ready for a new one. This measures 23 inches by 23 inches by 41 inches. Standing with the lid up the height is 4 feet.

Up for bid is a W W Winship and Sons Extra Quality wardrobe trunk. It is very rare. This has 2 doors that open and is made to sit in a corner and have access to all of the trunk. It has 4 different style hangers and a total of 7 hangers, all wooden. In the hanging compartment when the trunk is open the rods that hold the hanger extend out of the trunk for more room. The drawers are all functional, the top drawer has dividers in it, the bottom drawer is a 2 drawer compartment with straps in the bottom. The handle on the top is still together and solid but is worn. The inside has some spots but the material is in fair to good condition considering its age. The outside has scuffs and wear but has held up well. I will crate for shipping.

Antique Wardrobe or Traveling Wardrobe Trunk. Circa 1900s-1930s in excellent condition. American company, Lutz& Company of Washington, DC. Opens to wardrobe on left and drawers on right. On lower left is a case for shoes or other accessories. Top right drawer is divided into 3 sections with a lock(don't have the key) Bottom drawer is a hat drawer. There are 5 long hangers and 2 short hangers. There is an horizontal presser bar to hold items in place. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. All metal hardware is in place and the outside lock has a functional KEY. ... moreThe outside seems to be made of wood, which has some cracking, mostly the right domed end(see photo) The stains on the outside come out for a brief time with oiling. A very large wardrobe trunk made over 100 years ago by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely well made and in virtually perfect condition. It is fitted with a fully equipped interior and oak slats and ball castors on the exterior. This fine heavy trunk is complete and fully functional. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. Complete with five canvas drawers four of which have linen straps with brass closures marked Louis Vuitton. The drawers are all in great shape for over 100 years! Though there is some damage on a few spots on the linen wrapped drawers this would be expected being over 100 years old and well used. The top is padded and silk lined with the 1910 Louis Vuitton label and that of John Wanamaker. I have included below the historical info on both and how they came to work together. The silk has ... moresome stains and some missing ribbon but most is intact please see photos. This trunk is large and heavy so it will need to ship freight. It has. At some point, been stained over with a light oak stain so the iconic LV design is visible in soft light and day light but fluorescent lights mask it. black light also shows it. I have been told acetone with safely remove the stain if done carefully but I do not wish to do this I believe a professional could restore it. it truly looks awesome to me as it gives it a traveled look. It has brass fittings and handles which by themselves are amazing. These Louis trunks are so high end and so well made its amazing. Each handle says Louis Vuitton Paris made in France. The latches have the LV and each studd, though most are worn also Louis Vuitton. The silk is there but has some areas of dirt and some damage near the Wanamaker Label the silk is intact in that area it just needs to be re stretched please refer to the photos. This is a very sturdy luggage quality wardrobe trunk complete with wooden hangers. A silk liner, and drawers. The item has been well used, so it has natural wear and tear. Everything is fully functioning, and the leather handle is in good condition. The key is missing, and the trunk does lock. The trunk is currently open and a simple wedge in the lock would prevent it from re-locking. The shipping tags on the top are somewhat readable. And one has a shipping date of 9/10/29. The trunk must predate that, but I don't know the actual manufacturing year.

A vintage Belber wardrobe trunk. It measures approximately 39.5" tall. 23" wide, and 22" deep. Much of the interior is still intact. The last patent date on the tag is in 1921. The condition is very good overall. There is overall surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique luggage. A bit of fading to the portion of the blue interior which is exposed. The structural integrity is good and there are no major problems. We do not have the key. Very old green Wardrobe Trunk made by National Trunk Corporation- Racine.Wisconsin. This item was obtained from the estate of a 101 year old man in Brooklyn. NY in 1971. It's time to find a new home for it with someone who can appreciate it and possibly restore it. The trunk is made of" Genuine Hard Vulcanized Trunk Fibre" per the label on it. It measures approximately 21" X 21" x 40. It has the initials" T.A.S. and Brooklyn. NY" painted on one end. The brass lock is labeled" 438 The Yale& Towne Mfg Co. There is no key. There is damage near the lock from being pried open. There is some white paint splatter on the outside of the trunk. The inside of the trunk is in surprisingly good shape. The bottom of one side is missing some fabric. The top on one side pops up. And there are two pull-out rails ... morefor hanging clothes. this item I could go on and on about. its one of my favorite pieces! I can see it at the end of a beautiful bed or in a women's closet. I can see it as vintage décor or a new family heirloom to be past down to your future grandkids. its in great shape for its age! very sturdy and heavy. Adorable original cloth. the middle drawer pulls out with a hidden pocket I have not cleaned the trunk because I wanted it all original. not sure on age. Measures 40 1/2 inches high. ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK WARDROBE A n Antique Steamer Trunk Wardrobe. This is a really neat piece. There are some paper remnants which I believe have German writing. Otherwise. I can not find a marking. Woven textured exterior with oak or wood trim and leather handles. There are brass or metal sections and a heavy rubber material around the edges. The latches are working, but there is not a key. It opens to 4 drawers on one side and a section for hanging clothes on the other. It is fabric lined-lining shows wear. It measures 43 3/4" long, 22 1/4" wide, and 20 1/4" tall. I have not tried to clean this up-thought that should be left for the expert. Definitely old and does show wear, but still nice. Buyer pays USPS Postage. Pick Up is always welcome. THIS IS MY VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK FOR SALE Let me tell you about it. Its HUGE! 3 feet 5 inches tall. And 2 foot square. Made by"EVERWARE" Trunks. Newark NJ. And made With"Guaranteed Hard Vulcanized Fibre" Its is a dark green. The pulls in side are steel the locks and hardware on the out side are brass, the brass is alittle rusted and very tarnished. There are some traveling stickers on it but are all modern. I do have a Key for the large outside lock. And the not pictured bar lock that keep the drawers from falling out. I did add some small plastic ledges under the drawers, to make them able to pull out. One of the 15 hangers are original the rest are reproductions. The bars the cloths hangers hang out pulls out, this extends the bars to a full foot, and the top flips open. The Other side of the trunk has 4 drawers. First ... moreon top is 10" X 4" has a 1/3 divider. The Second Drawer. Is 9 inches deep 10 inches from front to back The 3rd Drawer. Is is 9 inches deep 10 inches front to back The 4th Drawer is 15 inches deep and 10 inches front to back has 1/3 divider. Again the condition is not great but at this point its 100 years old smells alittle musty rusty around the edges. But this is a one of a kind trunk. i used it for many years and kept everything i ever needed inside it, as i dragged this 150 + pound thing across the USA, you should do the same.
