It is a TURN OF THE CENTURY Victorian TABLE TOP OAK CHEST with 3 drawers and an open space. I believe it is a jewelry chest/ armoire or a gentlemans valet.not really sure.Some of it appears to be tiger oak. It is QUITE UNUSUAL with ornate metal work on ALL 4 CORNERS on the TOP of the chest.as well as ALL 4 CORNERS on the FRONT of the chest. Both front doors also have a metal SHIELD decoration and one side has a key lock which I do not have the key for. Nor do I know if it works.but looks very classy with all the Victorian Fancy Hardware. When opened. It reveals 3 drawers ~ 1 larger bottom one and 2 smaller side ones. It also has an open space to the right of the smaller drawers. The HANDLES on the 3 drawers are ORNATE with UNUSUAL DROP BAIL PULLS! ONE pull is MISSING. There is one pull which is unattached and as there is some metal damage to the 2 other handles. It will need some fixing.but still acceptable for its age in my opinion. Back is made of 2 pieces of wood and is not split. Just age seperation. The bottom is covered in old felt. CONDITION: ONE SIDE of the cabinet/chest has a center split in the wood. There appears to have been some work on the side that is split.I think it is all original with reinforcing screws.but because this is not my area of

Solid and fully functional as a portable closet or a shelved storage cupboard. Original hardware. Inside and out. Ready to use. Same owner for over 35 years: non-smoking and pet-free. Never stored or weather exposed. This wardrobe is very old and beautiful. Its solid wood structure(including the back) is all original. It can be taken apart. Knock Down" making it easy for two people to transport it. The finish is in very good shape. There is no top piece with this wardrobe; we have used an antique linen Piano Scarf draped over the top. However it looks very nice without the scarf as well.

I was excited to find this piece and fell in love with the scroll work on the top edge and on the door. On the inside it is beautiful walnut with a mirror mounted on the door( no cracks) with brass clasp to hold it into place. The door pull is in a tear drop and that just makes the whole piece work. The wardrobe is wood and wood laminate backing with two glass windows inside. Dimensions: 20"L x 36"W x 69 1/2" H. The condition of the wardrobe is good. It is functional and ready to use now. For sale is a great antique wardrobe or armoire made of quartersawn/tiger oak wood that will hold a lot of things. The wardrobe is 73" wide x 76" high x 20" deep on the outside. The beveled center mirror on the front is 50" x 18" Each door is 56" x 20" each dovetailed drawer is 33" x 10" and the storage area in each side is 54" high x 34" wide. This wardrobe does easily disassemble into about 10 pieces with the largest piece(the base) being 73" x 18" high x 20" deep. There is carving at the top of each door, there are no cracks or breaks in the mirror, the base has bun feet, and the wardrobe has dentil moulding at the top. This is an early 1900's antique"chifferobe" or"chifforobe" or"chiffarobe" I.e. wardrobe with 5 drawers and a small mirrored door on one side, and a full size wardrobe door on the other side. Behind the full size door is a place for hanging garments with an iron hanging rod. A couple of the drawers need some work but everything else functions normally. Beautiful wood grain with wear and tear that would be expected for age of furniture. Has been in continual use for 75 to 95 years! The wood is lovely. The drawers pull well, the mirror is trendy, the pulls are lovely and original, the door opens to 3 shelves which are clean and the entire piece comes apart into 3 sections for moving. A beauty of a way to keep a gentleman's or lady's personal items. Antique vintage oak wardrobe from Early 20th Century Arts & Crafts era restored
This wardrobe was in some disrepair. My husband restored it using new wood for the long door and the drawer bottoms only. The facia is all original. There is normal aging and stress marks. There was some square nails in the construction which somewhat ages it. The pulls are new as the original wood pulls were not all there. The oak wood was stripped and finished with natural stain and sealer. This may be made by Rome Furniture Factory. Rome Georgia. 60 in tall. 21 in deep, x 43 in wide Asking $595.00 or best offer.
