I believe they probably originally came off an armoire or something similar, they do have a lot of age to them. I think they might be as old as late 18th century. There are iron rods that run the length of the doors. You can obviously see in the pictures that they show some wear and one of the doors is missing a section on the bottom. Dating to mid 1900s, originally purchased and located in the St. Regis Hotel in New York City When the hotel began a renovation in the 1990s some of their furniture was sold and these pieces were purchased by me at that time. Description of Item for Sale: This beautiful armoire has been made in the French Louis XV style carved and veneer mahogany with carved bronze handles and dates to the mid 1900s. Antique Armoire Grey Blue Off White Annie Sloan Chalk Painted French Provincial! Stunning solid wood armoire or chifferobe that we lovingly hand painted with Annie Sloan Chalk paint. We used Old White& Paris Grey for her accenting the drawers. Trim work and interior with the grey! Gorgeous carved top front, intricate legs and applied florets in the center of the 2 doors. We added new crystal or acrylic clear knobs. Good condition overall. Minor defects include chunk missing from very top flat portion of the armoire, see photo. We painted over it and it's very hard to see unless you are very tall! lol. Also, the drawers are a little loose and do not line up exactly in the front areas. We worked on it with carpenter so it's pretty good but not perfect! When you open the front doors, there are minor crack lines in the wood finish. ... moreThe armoire stands 69" tall and is 39.5" wide at the front and 19" deep. The 2 front doors open up to reveal a great storage area for tv or for short hanging items. This area is 34" wide by 17' deep and about 26" tall. The 4 lower drawers are 30.5" length by 13.25" and 3.25" deep. I just luv this piece and am so glad this once drabby gal has been renewed with the most wonderful Annie Sloan chalk paint! We luv her.
