Up for sale is a antique wardrobe. Made by Nicholls and Janes of High Wycombe they were furniture makers from 1869-1970. There is a web page set up for the company. The wardrobe is a knockdown type. It has a top, bottom, and the 2 side join together then screws are used to hold it tight. The wardrobe is 75inches tall,48inches wide,21inches deep. It has been sitting for some years. It has 2 holes drilled in the back of it. One large chip of wood on the right rear corner. Some cracking and stain is coming off. I will be listing this item plus other oak piece from a local estate. The owner was a refinisher. These were some of the projects that had never got done or even started. So they do need work so please ask questions and look at pictures. Antique wardrobe/armoire. I have owned this since the 1970's purchased from an antique dealer. Was told it is turn of the century. Knockdown type. Pictures really show the condition. Please be sure to use the"mouse over" function to evaluate the condition. It is solid, but you can see the bracing that was applied to the back and the hanging rod that was also added. Size: 79" Tall 17 1/2" deep 48 1/2" wide. It is a good base for a restoration. NOTE: If buyer is interested in arranging crating and shipping after purchase. Its main attribute is that it does knockdown into many pieces enabling it to go up 100% of staircases and it is also a good depth unlike the French and English wardrobes. The wardrobe stands on small queen ann style cabriole legs supporting the mains section where there are two doors both sides of one smaller centre door and three drawers. The doors to the sides have one small plain bottom panel and larger top panel with a carved motif. The three drawers ... moreion the centre have a metal handle. The top has a standard graduated cornice and behind the doors there is plenty of storage space for many clothes. The height is 192cm. The width is 273cm and the depth is 62cm.
