An incredible accomplishment. The foundry work executed in this piece is above reproach- each gilt bronze mount is hand chased to the highest quality, mercury gilded and of outstanding detail. An angular and commanding work, the Armoire is surmounted by a triangular crest that is removable from the body with two dowels on either side- this is flanked by a pair of carved mahogany(replaced) finials. Beneath the projecting crown molding, an incredible gilt bronze mount of an angel riding through ocean waves in a cornucopia pulled along by swans while leaving behind a trail of shells is simply stunning. Flanking this on either side are opposing gilt bronze solider masks. The top is removable. Lifting off of large steel screws inside of the armoire to allow the door to be lifted from it's hinges for easier transportation. On either side of the door, pedestaled on large tapered columns rest large and highly impressive patinated and gilt bronze Classical female heads with bowed ribbon holding her hair back. These are the largest mounts of flawless execution we've seen on a piece from this period, each a stunning work of art in it's own merit. A hand filed steel screw secures each head to the case. Beneath the column, intense gilded Lion Paw's in the Regency manner complete the form. The arched door swings open with use of the original key. Revealing a golden oak interior of four shelves and a single locking drawer. This drawer is hand dovetailed with solid oak secondary woods, when removed revealing an illegible signature in period script along the dust board. Affixed to the top of the armoire on the inside is an old bill of lading from Lawsonia Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, noting it's sale of an"Exist. Decorative floral& straight line carvings and 3 large dresser drawers below the closet. This wardrobe was recently imported through the UK and is particularly special with ornate carvings floral carvings alongside it's otherwise simple straight line carving and dentition on the bonnet, so prominent during the Edwardian period, as well as the original decorative metal hardware. This Armore is vey nice and has been in my home since 2009 when I first moved into my apartment. It has some polish chip on the top and side but other words in great shape. It stands about 3 1/2 feet tall and is very flexible with what you chose to do with it. It has three shelves. 2 of which can be removed to make room for a t.v. or what ever else you decide to put in it. It has a removable backside for hooking up games and T.V's and much more. It is a great buy and comes in very useful.

This early 20th century wardrobe offers a hanging closet cloak hooks, hanging bar and a full size dressing mirror on the door; two large deep blind shelves, behind a smaller decorative inlaid door; and a dresser with three large drawers. Antique Armoire with a very clear Beveled Original Mirror. Hand carved decorations on the front. As pictured. It has a tall cabinet for hanging clothes and a smaller cabinet with 2 shelves and 3 generous drawers. It sits on an additional large. Deep drawer. In addition, it is crowned with a decorative scroll-work topper. The final assembled height is 7 feet. It is a little over 4 feet wide and approximately 18 inches deep. It comes in 4 parts- a stand. The wide bottom drawer, the main armoire with 2 cabinets and 3 drawers, and the top piece. The main cabinet has a large beveled mirror in the door. The mirror is 13 1/2 inches wide and 4 feet tall. The main piece is made of heavy Mahogany-like wood with mainly original fittings. You can see that the drawer pull for the bottom(of the 3) drawer was replaced. But many years ago, so that brass ... morehas also aged. I think it dates from about 1900(the style was popular from about 1890-1910) We aren't sure of actual wood. And the topper and the base seem to be of a lighter-weight wood than the very sturdy and heavy main piece. I'm not able to arrange shipping for this item so if interested. Belonged to a Germany family until the middle 70's when was brought to US. I inherited from my late husband. Is a large and heavy piece about 82 x 65 inches. In fairly antique good conditions for the normal wear and age of the piece. The finish is a black resin type coating. I am not an expertise in this matter, I only goes for what I have told. There are wardrobe closets on either side of a center dresser. Each door to the closets have full length mirrors measuring 16 1/2" wide and 56 1/2" tall. right side mirror cracked. The center dresser has three drawers measuring 26" wide and 7" tall. There are two more drawers atop these three that are have the size. Above the dresser is a cabinet with two glass paneled doors. In very good antique condition and with few signs of wear, is circa 1900(it might be a few years older) and features four(4) drawers—two upper and two lower—and a 2-door armoire cabinet area with 2 adjustable shelves. All drawers and doors have orignal brass pulls and knobs. The interior 2 shelves are not original, as they were missing and I added these(I have no knowledge of what happened to original shelves) The armoire/ dresser is structurally sound and aesthetically beautiful, with a nice warm medium to dark wood tone The overall wood condition is very good, with one small exception: on the right side of the armoire/dresser, there is a 1.5-inch long area where the veneer is raised slightly(it's hard to spot, but see bottom part of last photo) This can easily be glued down. Antique Wardrobe / Armoire, Solid Mahogany, Possible Entertainment Center
This is a great old heavy solid mahogany wardrobe which I believe is early 1900's. It has been in my family for at least 60 years. The outside was refinished with a blond antiqued finish many years ago and is still in fair to good condition. It is very solid without any loose joints. The inside is all solid mahogany drawers which appear to have their original varnished finish. The drawers are in excellent condition for their age and do not need any refinishing. A few of the dovetail joints are slightly loose but really do not need any attention. There are seven huge open-front drawers which glide in and out easily. It's been in dry storage for the last 20 years. The caning on the doors was done at the same time as the refinishing and is in excellent condition. At one time there were apparently fabric panels in the doors. The hardware ... moreis still there if you want to stretch fabric behind the caning. The doors come with the original brass key and working lock. In my opinion. This wardrobe can be used as is without major refinishing. Or you can restore the outside to the original mahogany finish. There are a few cosmetic issues: A small piece of the hand-carved detail is missing on the top of the right door. Also one piece of narrow dental molding is missing from the left side of the lower panel of the right door. It's fairly simple dental molding and would be easy to recreate with 1/8" dowel and a triangular file. These defects are not very noticeable until you get close. There is also a middle cross support visible in the photos. If the top drawers are removed. This support can be a shelf to turn this armoire into an entertainment center. It would accept a TV up to 31.5" wide(about 34" to 35" diagonal) The lower drawers could house electronics and media. The measurements are 64" high. 36" wide at the top, and 23" deep. Made of quality pre-1900 mahogany structurally very sound. 5 drawers on left side all pull with ease. Clothes hanger bar. On right side and on right door. Has some scars on top and sides. Minimal damage overall. 54.5" wide 22.5" deep 51.5" tall
