This is the original finish and there has been no restoration. Overall very good condition. I only wiped it down quickly. I made no attempt to clean extensively. You can see some soiling. And some deeper darkening from age and years of use and oxidation to the finish. There is some edge and corner wear. Some minor cracking and some finish wear. But the integrity of the piece is solid. The applied decals are decades old and fades, soiled and worn. I have not tried to remove them, though at some point in the past that have been worn away or cleaned off in part. Antique Wardrobe Amoire circa 1930
This is an antique wardrobe armoire in good condition. I am not sure what kind of wood it is made of. I am not very familiar with antiques and there are no markings as to who the manufacture is. The armoire does have some scratches from normal use, nothing deep or compromising, and the inside does gave a couple of black stains but from my opinion they are superficial and would probably come if if you refinish. There are no door handles, they are missing and I do not have the key to lock/unlock the door. The door is currently unlocked. The unit is missing one metal ball roller so be aware that these would need to be replaced. Based on my research this armoire is most likely from the 1930's-1940's. Circa 1930. The wardrobe features a classically styled cloud shaped cornice and triple vertical reeded front corners. The two doors are highly figured with a stunning walnut veneer. The right hand door is opened using a sprung push button, flanked by the original deep red bakelite handles. There is also a working lock and key to the door. The left hand door features two latches, which keep the door closed whilst the right hand door is open. Inside the wardrobe are four-quarter circle internal shelves to the right. To the left, is a metal telescopic extending hanging rail, which extends outwards so that you can easily hang your clothes on the rail. On the inside of the right door is a metal hanging rail. Below the drawers, there is a protruding moulded section. Below are two large hand dovetailed oak lined drawers, which also feature the original bakelite handles. The wardrobe sits on four slim protruding bracket feet and features solid backboards. Antique 1920-1930's German Art Deco Style Wardrobe
This German-made four door wardrobe built in the late 1920's to early 1930's has a subtle. Yet striking wood grain finish in a tone-on-tone pattern. combining flat and gently curved door panels makes this piece a standout. At one end there is a compartment with 4 shelves and drawer, and at the other end, the full length clothing compartment has a clothes bar and a top shelf that is 15" deep. The 5 shelf center section is 40" wide with full-depth shelves. The doors have full-length piano hinges and the art deco handles are bronze. 88" wide x 74" high x 25" deep(plus handle depth) The wardrobe comes apart for transport.
