With one large center door featuring an original ... morebeveled mirror and crowned with a serpentine Gothic inspired central decoration and two smaller left and right wood doors, finished with large ebonized finials. Each section has ebonized scallop trim. Four ebonized columns with a finely incised and spiraling gilded floral motif and well carved capitals flank each door and follow the curve of the crown. The base consists of deep ogee moldings some of which are also ebonized. Fine, ornate original brass hardware and keyed locks. The side cabinets are set up for adjustable shelving. It has been stored at my home in Florida for about 10 years. The condition is very good considering the age of the pieces. There is some surface damage to both pieces. Nice acorn legs, brass detailing on the locks and the bevelled mirror, original to the piece, is in great shape. This breaks down all the way into very easy to move pieces. Age: 1850-1899 This stately piece is designed to break down so that it can be easily moved. The side doors are bowed in shape and curve back at the sides. They are exquisitely designed with a marquetry. Beading with a pattern of Cross Cut Walnut in the center framed the doors. A beautiful oval medallion with an urn full of flowers at the center decorates the tops of the side doors. The marquetry work is incredible. The brass mounts adorning the exterior of the armoire have been molded with a leaf patterns displayed. The drawer shown has a primary wood of walnut with a secondary wood of oak. The locks do not work but I'm sure can be repaired. I never did anything with them because I never needed too. With a shell carved arched cornice above a central mirror door flanked by a pair of narrow mirror panel doors headed by garlanded painted ovals. On short turned fluted legs. This is an exquisite piece and very well made. It has been a feature in my smoke free pet free home for 8 years. It is very much loved and cared for and I am selling it as I am moving home and cannot bring it with me. Measurements: Total depth is 50cm but at the top it sticks out to 53cm and measures 42cm on the inside- Total height(floor to the highest point on top border) 236cm Width/Length: 170cm but 180cm at the top border. Beautiful French Country Triple Armoire. both large doors open to reveal hanging areas open from top to bottom; center door opens to reveal an area with one shelf in the center. And a bottom shelf. Then of course there are drawers in the bottom center section. All hardware is intact and in good working order. Doors and drawers all open smoothly and properly. You will see in the pic there are two small splits in the wood in the top panel of the right hand door. This is not damage, just due to age. I estimate this piece to be from the early part of the 1900's. The bolts and brackets holding it together are quite old. It breaks down into about a dozen pieces for moving. Antique triple armoire, including dresser, 2 nightstands & bed w/sale Italy
Awesome burl walnut triple armoire. Imported from the south of France around 2002 or so. Made in Italy. We were told it dated to about 1902- I have found similar dated at 1906. I would say pre-1910 with some confidence. Armoire measures 10 and l/2 foot wide! Six doors. Comes completely apart for transporting. Exterior of armoire in wonderful 100+ year old condition with only minor wear and tear. Inside left and right are closets which had metal rods which were no longer there when we purchased, but mounting hardware is present. Middle doors have 2 drawers and a shelf was added for audio visual equipment but is unfinished. I can be discarded if not wanted. Dresser has a few breaks in the filigree on the bottom. Has a glass top which we believe is original to the piece or at least a part of it for many many years. The headboard, footboard and ... morerails are in good condition with exception of a few breaks in the filigree. Bed is estimated to be queen, but we only used the headboard as we have a king bed and have no idea if a standard queen will fit without some adjustment. We were told that there are companies that build some sort of retrofit kits to adjust for odd sized beds but we never investigated as we were happy with it as we used it. We are selling the armoire at our list price and giving the pieces with minor flaws at no cost. This item will be local pickup only in Fountain Inn. South Carolina(suburb of Greenville) Sold as is. Artistic hand detailing is beautiful. The old finish is very well preserved. There are minor mars at the edges various irregularities from age and a long mar on the lower left side. See photos.
