Antique vintage armoire wardrobe waterfall--closet cedar lined--5 drawers
A pre-owned armoire wardrobe with original casters- in the waterfall design from the art deco period. A metallic gold seal inside the top drawer reads Hooker Bassett Seal of Quality. Stenciled on the back is XO 30 ROBE. It is 36" wide x 60" tall x 20" deep. With inside closet measurements of 20" deep x 16-1/2" wide x 56" high. The drawers are dovetailed and four drawers are 15-1/4" x 14-3/4" x 8" deep. The fifth(top) drawer measures the same accept it is 6" deep. The mirrored top adds 6" to that side height measurement. Overall, the original casters add 2" to the height. They also make it easy to move. The knobs and pulls are of a white metal with marbleized pink thermoplastic decoration-celluloid or Catalin. Etc. It is a quality wardrobe in very good solid condition. There are very ... moresmall pieces of veneer missing mostly on the bottom. There is a tiny piece missing on the top edge of the third drawer down and a crease in the front of the second drawer from the top. The mirror has some small issues. THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY A pre-owned cedar wardrobe tagged inside with a metallic label from Lakeside Craft Shops. Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It measures 35" wide x 75" tall x 25" deep. It is easily be taken apart for moving and I have done that more than a few times. I used it as a closet. A computer stand and for storing out-of-season bedding. It has been painted the color it is now which is Colonial Pear. When I used it as a computer stand, holes were drilled into the back to accommodate wiring. It would make a nice TV stand. The condition is mostly very good except that when breaking it down this last time, the floor of the closet spit along the grain lines in two places. It still fits together tightly because of the way it split. The door needs a catch. It has served me well over the years since I purchased it at Goodwill ... moremany years ago. Never stored or weather exposed. This wardrobe is very old and beautiful. Its solid wood structure(including the back) is all original. It can be taken apart. This wardrobe is in original cleaned condition. The use of veneers to form patterns and give symmetry to this piece is amazing! The back of the mirror is dated 1940. The door side is lined with cedar with four drawers stacked on the opposite side. There also is a compartment below the bottom drawer that can only be seen after removing the drawer. This beautiful old original piece that has been in the family for years has a graceful domed top with three drawers below. The front drawers have flowered stenciling and beautiful original drawer pulls. The doors have a strong patina. It's interior is clean cedar. The right side has a pull out bar for hanging your clothes and the left side has 2 shelves and two drawers. Original strong back and bottom.The measurements are 39 1/2" wide. 21" deep and 62" high. Nice Vintage Cedar Closet Looks great with aged cedar inside and outside and beautiful old patina and color. Wood is 1/2 inch thick. And there is a pole at the top for hanging clothes. Has original brass key and 4 casters were put on the bottom for easy moving. Measures 64" tall. Trim at the top and bottom is 32" wide Main piece is 29.5" wide Depth is 21.5" deep Condition is very good. Sturdy, with usual cedar knots, splits and dings, but nothing serious. Beautiful Murphy Antique Cedar Wardrobe Closet. Includes a light fixture. But I have never tried it to know if it works. Includes removable clothing bar. Could be a refinishing project, although I personally preferred as is and would recommend tung oil for cleaning. There is rather large crack in that has formed where the natural knot is in the wood, as the previous owner blasphemously stored this in the garage and the legs could use a little bit of tightening. 5-1/2 ft tall, 2-1/2 feet wide, depth of 1 foot 9 inches.
