A large rectangular mirror on the single cabinet door, and exquisite paneled accent carvings on either side of the mirror. The bevelled edge mirror is very clean almost suggesting that is has been replaced but I found no evidence to support that it is not the original. The cabinet door has an ornate solid drop pull and the drawer has two large decorative bail pulls. The skirt is arched on the side of the piece and there are scalloped brackets on the front. The interior is paneled and has two mounted hooks and 6 sliding hooks on the hanging bar. A very nice piece in remarkable condition for the age(circa 1890) this armoire is certain to become a cherished heirloom. Condition: It has some age appropriate signs of wear including scratches. Here is an absolutely delightful early twentieth century English carved mahogany one door wardrobe with large beveled edge dressing mirror. Decorative floral& straight line carvings and 3 large dresser drawers below the closet. This wardrobe was recently imported through the UK and is particularly special with ornate carvings floral carvings alongside it's otherwise simple straight line carving and dentition on the bonnet, so prominent during the Edwardian period, as well as the original decorative metal hardware. This wonderful large wardrobe stands 82 inches tall by 53 inches wide by 23 inches ... morefront to back. This fabulous old wardrobe is in nice respectfully used condition inside and out. The large beveled mirror on the wardrobe door measures 46 inches tall by 16 1/2 inches wide and is clear with only a tiny few spots of very minor pitting. The closet has a cloak hooks around the inside of the closet behind the mirrored door. This open cabinet space behind that door in still lined in a bright blue fabric in pretty good condition and measures 46 inches wide by 18 inches front to back by 50 inches tall. Below the closet in the base of the piece are three large. Wonderful dresser drawers. The top two drawers have beautifully dovetailed construction and each measure 20 1/4 inches wide by 17 1/2 inches front to back by 6 1/2 inches deep.The larger bottom drawer below these two, also dovetailed, measures 42 1/2 inches wide by 17 1/2 inches front to back by 7 1/2 inches deep. Their doors operate smoothly and they have a beautiful beveled oval mirror. Two paneled surfaces decorated with inlaid banding and a diamond shape design on the center, and they have ornate brass handles. The mirror may show some aged hazing but it only validates its antiquity. On the bottom there is a large drawer that is well constructed with dovetail joinery and it is also decorated with inlaid banding and it has two attractive brass handles with oval hardware. This armoire may show some age appropriate wear, minor wood flaws and one of its sides it is stripped but it can be easily refinished if necessary, otherwise this piece is overall in good cosmetic and structural condition and it is strong and sturdy. During the Edwardian furniture period in England. Beautiful mahogany wood was often paired with inlaid satinwood accents to create a beautiful piece of furniture. That is what you see here in this antique wardrobe. Made in England around the year 1910, it is a gorgeous piece that provides storage for a variety of needs. This wardrobe features two doors with oval ... morepanels and three drawers. Inside the right door is a variety of hooks and a fixed wooden shelf while the left door houses a taller open space with a rod. The three drawers slide easily and are made with dovetailed drawer joints. The left door and all three drawers lock with the one included key. The key does not work for the right door. This armoire comes apart in three pieces(crown. Large center section, and base) for easier shipping and moving. We are giving this piece a good condition rating. It is sturdy and solid and all of the doors and drawers function well. There are some minor cosmetic issues to point out. The left door’s oval panel appears to have been replaced. The top right corner of the crown has some small damage. The left side of the wardrobe has two age separations(the right side has one at the base) and an old scratch. Also on the left side is some very slight damage to the inlay on the crown towards the back.
