You are bidding on an ORIGINAL 1890's Beckwith Round Oak wood stove finial! This Worlds Fair finial measures approx. 10 1/2" tall. And has the crown? at the very top. Base measures approx. 4 3/4" diameter. The finial has the four outer bands that read"Beckwith's Round Oak" and has the center ball/sphere. There is a long screw that goes all the way through the finial that is bent and needs to be straightened. There are some small dents in the base, and one dent in the center ball. Unsure what this is made of. Copper? Brass? This was found in a local estate and is being sold just as we have found it! We have not attempted to clean, polish, or fix this in any way. Here is some information acquired regarding this unique and rare piece. La Salamandre Louis XVI Art Nouveau Wood burner By: E Chaboche of Paris"La Salamandre" Louis XVI" French wood/coal burning stove by E Chaboche of Paris. From the Art Nouveau period, manufactured sometime between 1906 and 1940 This is an Argentine cast iron reproduction of the Rolls Royce of wood burning stoves. From the moment that Edward Chaboche released his first Salamandre model the"Premier Modèle" or"Modèle Rond" in 1883, he wiped the floor with all of the competition, and continued to do so right up to the fall ... moreof France in 1940. Every one of his competitors would design and release on to the market a similar design, but none were as successful as Chaboche. This Louis XVI model is in first class condition and has the"nickelled" option which made it a cut above the Jones's(or Lefevre's! It would enhance any period drawing room. Dining room. The color is not unusual to find in a stove of this period, but nickelled option really enhance its looks. At first I thought this had been converted to gas. I realize now it has a hot water heater in place. The back view is of the 3/4" line coming in and if you look to the left you will see a hole in stove body. This line serpintines back and forth over the burner box and ends with a 90 elbow facing this hole. It needs a 10" straight shot of pipe to bring out of the hole. The threads on the 90 elbow look usable. 34" wide or 41" wide with right pan leaf in place. 31" deep from back to front oven handle. 30" tall to top of stove burner plates. 61" tall to top of backsplash. This is a super cool old antique wood burning or coal burning stove from the 1920's-1930's. It was made by the Locke Stove Co in Kansas City MO. And is a"Warm Morning" model. This stove came out of an old farm house in Sidney, OH and was used as recently as last winter. It is in great condition, and is very usable as well as attractive. Please see all of the pics for the best description and condition. It has the old lining inside, and a shaker in the bottom for when you are burning coal. There is an ash pan in the bottom, and it is loaded from the top side. This is not a burnt or rusted out old heap, it is a very nice stove that will provide years of service. An older family friend asked me to help her list this wonderful. Large antique stove in her attic. When I saw it, I was immediately reminded of all those stories I read when I was little that talked about heaters and cookstoves(A Little Princess, Little House on the Prairie, etc. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing one in person! Apologies for the"lovely" attic background. But we are two smallish women and didn't want to attempt to move the heavy piece of iron from the 3rd floor! She has had it"forever, but she and her husband are preparing to sell their enormous house and are finding good homes for their larger antiques: Height: 48" Including finial. Circumference of central pipe: 51" Circumference of base: 60" Marked"Bright Oak" on the front in ornate letters, Lovely iron work all over ... morethe piece. Quite decorative, Made in 1907- see photos. Made of cast iron and brass with an ornate finial on top. Neither of us are experts on this- we expect that any buyer will know more than us. However. It doesn't take a genius to see broken parts or cracks! This piece has none- there doesn't appear to be any damage, aside from mild rust accumulated over 100 years. As you will see from the photos, the drawer slides out, the grate is intact, and there are no cracks or broken off parts. We wiped the dusty piece down with a wet rag before photographing because it was very dusty and dirty(some parts were still wet when we took the pictures. You can see that there is a light coating of orange rust on the iron. And the brass is dull. The stove will need to be cleaned up. However, it will be*beautiful* when it is refurbished- we found a photo of almost the exact same model on this site(for $4800! Please look at the photos for yourself- we took them from every angle with the flash so we could accurately represent the piece. Very detailed and delicately ornate castings. The stove is in great condition. There is one corner of the base that was broken off. I do have the pieces to weld back on if you choose to repair. It is in the back so not seen as if it was in front. The stove measures 40" tall x 31 9/16" wide at base x 17 1/4" deep. During the nineteenth century. Rare Antique 1890's Home Comfort Wood Stove. WROUGHT IRON RANGE CO. No reserve auction for this patent dated NOV. 19- 1889 hot water bucket. When the Wrought iron range company first started they made their pans out of the same cast iron as their stoves. They iron skillets warped so badly they are hardly ever found. This is a early water bucket made to hang on the side of the range when not in use. I guess since water was used in this bucket it kept it at the same temperature.It did not warp like the skillets do. I have seen a couple of these buckets on line but never with the early patent date on it. They are from a later manufacturing after the cast iron was changed. Use on top of your heating stove to create steamed potatoes, steamed puddings or r use with minimal water as an oven. I used one like this in Alaska in my cabin. It really steam bakes potatoes fast. Steam creates hotter heat and moisture keeps potatoes moist and steamy. Amazing piece. Pre-curser to the microwave in how it cooks fast. Will burn wood or coal and will heat our entire house. Has been COMPLETELY restored- sand blasted. Repainted, resealed- just fantastically well done! Nickel plating has been completely redone& I bet looks like it did the day it was made! Brand new mica glass. Measures high 53 inches high and 24 inches wide. Fire box is 16 inches wide and 28 inches high. Flue is oval shaped and is 7& 1/4 inches by 4 inches. White areas on back of stove were my fingerprints from moving stove outside for pics and are NOT present on the stove- noticed AFTER it was moved back inside and wiped off with dry cloth. The front of the stove is marked Sears and the door opens up and inside is a metal mesh inside with showing pipe in middle. The door hooks closed but you have to lift it up to securely closed. The legs are all intact and two of them are loose and the other two are secure. There is no top lid that you would use to cook on top.
