Found a small chip shown in picture 1. Glass lens looks to be in really good condition. One chip. No cracks that we can see. Did not unbolt it. Lens may be about 3"3/8" dia x 3" to 3"1/8" tall. Again we did not take it apart. That is a new owner project. Light is in fair condition for it's age. Had it over 35 years myself. Check out our pictures. Questions just email us. Brass oil lantern manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. It is an absolutely beautiful antique in great condition. There are two small cracks(you can see them in the last two pictures) around the base of the lantern. Most likely caused by age. Also I had a hard time screwing together the lantern and the piece that connects to the wall. I think it could be easily replaced with another bolt. And it might even go together if it is forced. I was trying to be careful when I was putting it together. See the third to last picture to know the piece I am talking about. This lamp was manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland. I have not attempted to put fuel in the lamp or light it. Because I do not know how and I do not want to mess it up! The lamps have not been polished because I wanted to keep it in its current condition and I liked the way they look! The clear glass chimney is in perfect condition. As you can see in the picture the green shade does not fit around the holder(it fits there just fine. Vintage Copper and Brass Large Hanging Cargo Nautical Ship Light Re-Wired #2
Google the name"big ship salvage" and you will learn more about who we are! You are bidding on the copper and brass cargo light shown in the above photos. This light measures 28 inches tall and weighs about 45 pounds. The wide end with the glass measures 17 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 15 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 10 inches long. You can make this light shorter by changing out this pipe with a shorter piece. Or you can make the light hang further down by adding a longer pipe. This pipe is common 1/2 inch black iron pipe you can buy at most hardware stores pre-threaded. We have used a hammered gold paint to give this iron pipe a matching brass look. The ceiling mount is 3 1/8 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse ... moreElectric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 30 inches of extra wiring. When we find these lights. They are painted. We have removed the paint and polished the copper and brass. We do not try to polish our lights to the point they look new, so some buyers may spend some additional time doing additional polish work to get the light to your desired finish. Up for auction is a antique bow light. I am unsure what boat this was off of but it was definitely removed from a boat here on long island. It appears to have a brass body and blue/ red glass. It does come with a wooden mount. The only issue with this light is it is chipped in the blue portion of the glass. Other then that it appears to be in nice shape. Antique Vintage Boat Nautical Marine Oil lamps Port Starboard Green Red Ship
Up for auction are two antique nautical port/ starboard oil lamps. I have yet to see a pair exactly like this with smooth glass. Unfortunately i do not see any markings on them. The body's of the lamp appear to be galvanized but i could be wrong. The lenses of these lamps are in very nice shape with no visable cracks. One is green and one is red. These lamps appear complete minus the one is missing a part out of the bottom as seen in the picture. The only other issue is that the top of the one lamp has a dent and the top has some minor damage. Other then that they would make a great display piece. These are being sold as is. Vintage Antique Ship Lanterns 1900's Brass Ships Gimbaled Oil Lanterns Rare
You are bidding on a pair of very rare. Brass gimbaled oil lanterns which were manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. These are beautiful and hard to find in this condition. However, when I was taking pictures, I unfortunately broke one of the green glass shades. I have tried to find another shade, but have been unable to do so. I have been able to find many antique restoration companies, one of which I have spoken to in great detail about the broken shade. He assures me that he can restore the shade to its former glory with very faint visibility. If the break is turned to the back of the lantern, it will be invisible to the eye. I will be glad to send the shade myself, or if the winning bidder would like to find their own restoration specialist, I will provide the pieces carefully wrapped. There are only three ... morebroken pieces and they fit together perfectly. These lamps were manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland and the brass nameplate is attached to the front of each lantern with that information. The lamp bodies are very heavy brass and are fully gimbaled. These are self-leveling lamps for use on the high seas. The wall brackets have a fleur-di-lis type decorative look. The burners are original with a double wick. The knobs are stamped"John Scott Made In England" The last two pictures show small cracks at the top of each body. These appear to be caused by age. The lamps have not been polished because I personally find them more beautiful in their aged condition. The clear glass chimneys are both in perfect condition with no flaws of any kind. The one shade is also perfect with no flaws. The second shade was discussed above. Not sure but makers family member said it was zinc. he said his father manufactured these in chicago years ago and that this was the actual prototype. i have seen similar ones made from glass here on ebay and the family did own a glass factory. this one is all metal and no glass. i did not plug it in to test the lights.

Added 4 pictures of the lens. For you to check out. Clear lens looks to be in really good condition. No cracks that we can see. Red lens has a crack in it and no chips just the crack. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. I am not sure of the proper name or use for this lantern. Can you inform me? It measures 17 ½” tall. The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. Huge vintage Pauluhn Nautical Pier lights. stamped- cat no. 1453 Great Nautical heavy duty design. Believed to be solid brass- Will not stick to a magnet. These are mounted to bases manufactured by- Kenilworth N.J. and read Suitable for wet locations. We have not attempted to clean or polish these at all. One of the red or off red glass globes has 6 chips on its fins which are hard to notice because of the large size. The other red globe which is a slightly different tone then the other has only one chip on a fin. Both globes have some minor flea biting on the fins and scratching/ wear throughout from age and outdoor use. The brass or metal has scratching scuffing etc. and one of them has a little chunk missing shown in photograph# 3. These will need a detailed cleaning and restoration of all wiring before they can be used. The globes have ... moresomewhat of a opalescence tone and may have been painted at some point but are absolutely originally RED glass. Please note these need full restoration ASIS as shown. This vintage nautical wall lamp came from an estate and probably dates from the 40's. The finish is all original with some wear to the brass finish.the enamel is in good condition with only a little wear to the rope area under the life preserver. It is in working condition and I believe the wiring is original. I can find no marks. Measurement are 7" X 4 1/2" at the widest points. It is a great piece with primitive charm.
