The light stands 8 inches high(to the ring holder) and 4 ½ inches in diameter at the base. There are no chips whatsoever on the glass. There is only one 1/4 inch dent on the top. Nippon Sento Brass Stern Light(1976) Specs: Nippon Sento CO. Ltd Stern Light. Class: A1 No.6. Manufacture# B 1937. Manufacture Date/Place: Dec 1976 Japan. Material: Brass + copper? Size: about 23cm diameter and 24 cm high. Looks to have seen it’s time at sea. It is a beautiful piece regardless. I have not removed any of the patina. It is original and untouched(except for the label which I polished a bit) I have taken lots of picture. Please review them and ask any questions. This is a very beautiful and rather rare model of stern light. It would be a nice addition to your décor or as an operational piece of vintage marine equipment on your boat. Condition: In unrestored condition(I polished the label a bit to be readable) Patina is excellent. Even has sea salt on it: It is very structurally sound. Built to last and has. Lid opens. Back ... morescrew is fused with some stripping. The glass looks to be in excellent condition with no cracks. I believe it to be original because the hallmark on the glass is the same as on the casing. Cord has been cut and does not work(would suggest retro-fitting with modern electrics to be safe) The place where the light cord connects with the body has a crack(see picture) Dints and dings from many years at sea. This is an Antique Nautical Bow or Stern Lantern Lamp.Clear Ribbed Front Lens has a crack.The Piece is made of either Brass or Copper but has been painted over black apparently several times but I do see some areas of rub off that shows it to be brass or perhaps copper.The Lantern has a Drop down Bottom secured by a pull latch.I guess either an Oil Lamp or Candle would be placed on the bottom to illuminate the lantern.The LANTERN measures 17 1/2" tall x 7 1/4" wide x 6 1/4" deep.Due to the CLEAR LENS this was used either has a Bow or Stern Light.Pretty Cool Old Lantern!I can find no stamp manufacturer marks however. Due to the amount of paint those marks could be filled in and if the paint removed perhaps a MFG mark could be found.Thanks for looking!

Here is a very old QUALITY made BRASS/ BRONZE? NAUTICAL SHIP LIGHT. This ANTIQUE NAVIGATION light has a 6 1/2 inch base across and is about 5 1/2 inches tall. This light has really nice AGED PATINA and is a GREAT SHOW DISPLAY PIECE. there ARE 5 base bolts with this light. There are no interior parts. The glass shows on only 1/2 side of the light which was probably for a forward facing deck light. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS FROM A SHIP MAST? There are no makers marks. Very HEAVY about 7 lbs. The glass has a couple of flake specs see photo3 that are normal for a light this age. There is not cracks that go through only the flakes. This is a great nautical ANTIQUE FROM A TIME GONE BY. Vintage Antique STERN Nautical Hong Kong Copper Brass Oil Navigation Lantern 9"
This lantern was probably acquired in Singapore where my father-in-law operated a salvage diving business in the 70's.he was US Navy Diver. Who spent a lot of time on boats-and then driving ships, once he retired. The wick is trimmed, slides securely down and there is a reflector that slides in behind it. The wick cap does not click securely to the oil reservoir, though. The thumb wheel turns the wick up and there is one to open the hatch to pull up and refill the reservoir. The top clicks down securely where the ring is positioned. I have some better pictures but am having some trouble uploading from that camera. Email me if you would like to see more.

Chromed Brass Erico-Kainer Co. Stern Light
This is a chromed brass stern light made by Erico-Kainer Co. Chicago. Illinois. The company was in operation during the late 1920's. The light stands 21-1/2" at full extension and can be adjusted to a lower height. The glass globe has a slight circle crack but is not completely cracked as seen in the photo and the lip of the globe has a section gone. The globe is still serviceable and will seal with a gasket replacement. The electrical socket is in in good condition and just needs to be wired up. There is no international shipping for this item and I offer free shipping to the lower 48 states.

IT HAS A HEAVY DUTY BRASS HANDLE ON THE TOP, AND 2 RINGS ON THE LOWER SECTION. THEY WOULD SECURE LINES TO ALL 3 TO KEEP IT FROM MOVING TO MUCH. THE UPPER 9 1/2" DIAMETER SECTION HAS A BRASS WING NUT USED FOR FILLING IT UP WITH OIL. THE ACTUAL LANTERN INSIDE THE LARGE OUTER GLASS HAS THE LIGHTING LANTERN INSIDE IT. THIS HAS A MATCHING"G 77093 WITH 3 SMALL CROWNS ON THAT AS WELL. IT HAS 2 LONG COPPER WIRES TO BE ABLE TO LIFT IT OUT OR PUT IT BACK IN, THE ONLY ITEM MISSING IS THE GLASS GLOBE THAT FITS ON TOP THE LANTERN. Vintage Japanese Nippon Ship Lantern Copper Brass Stern Nautical Naval Light
This extremely rare vintage copper and brass ship lantern is an authentic mid-1900's product of Japan. Never stored outdoors. A one of a kind nearly impossible to find gem that's always been free from pets and clearly is not beat up or neglected like so many others of its era. There simply isn't a comparable duplicate out there that's been cared for like this. Belonged to my father who was a USN mustang with a 37-year career serving our country in WWII. Korea and Vietnam before retiring as a Chaplain. He later wired it for use with an electric bulb(no damage was caused during wiring and the electrical capability can be removed with ease- see photos) Original Japanese writing on the main label has been wonderfully preserved and reads.
