Vintage National Marine Company combination bow lantern. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this wonderful piece of vintage maritime/nautical hardware. This early style kerosene burner combination navigation light with Fresnel lenses made by the National Marine Lamp Co. of New York. This lamp was made prior to 1912 since after that date National Maritime were marked with a patent date of 1912 or used the trade name“Triplex” This is an early example since the company was founded in 1906. This lamp is most suitable for someone seeking this shielded design of which only a few have survived. It has a great deal of character and a wonderfully warm patina. THE MAKER: National Marine Lamp Co. According to Anthony Hobson's Lanterns that Lit our World, Book 2 was started in 1906 operating from Pear St. in New York City. ... moreIt brought the burner shop Bristol Brass in Forestville, CT in 1911. National Marine bought from Bristol Brass, so similarities in the products are to be expected. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass, according to Hobson, but the"American" name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Frederick and his son Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation so there is a lot of lamp history in this early lamp. This lantern measures approximately 11 inches wide. 10 inches tall, and 8 1/2 inches front to back. This lantern weighs approximately 4.75 pounds Condition- This awesome combination bow lantern is in very nice condition. Perko De-lite Bow Light, brass maritime oil lamp
Weather-bronzed’ Perko De-lite Bow lantern. Oil-burning allbrass lamp with glass lens, 12.25” tall. This model was carried for quite along time by Perkins Marine, This particular lamp was made in the late 1930s(1934 and earlier models has two brass safety bars protecting the lens, whichwas removed from all models by 1939, per the Perko catalogs) Based on estimatesof the Perko stamp in back, it may have been made in the 1940s– 50s. The oil fount was drilled out and electrified. And promptlyrestored to oil burning capability once I acquired it over two years ago. Alsorepaired was lower brass band that holds the lens in place. Other damage fromits years of use including a wire hole in the top and some twisted metal by thevent holes in the back. Page scans are from the 1939 Perko Catalog.

The globe/ shade threads on and off fixture base properly. Burner stamped THE NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO. metal plate on the flat back side has a patent date of APRIL 1ST 1913. 10" tall to the top of the ring on top, 4 3/4" wide, 4 1/2" deep, galvanized metal. The burner is rusted through and is missing one of two metal tabs that held it in place. The metal lantern shows areas of surface rust but is solid and not flimsy in any way, ding on the cupola where the ring is mounted, both pieces of glass in good condition. It would be simple to electrify or even easier to place a battery op light inside and enjoy the colored glass. The front bracket missing a screw and the glass is in place with some type of caulking on the bracket. The metal brass/bronze has a nice bright polished shine. Very nice old Nautical light. Vtg Perkins PERKO Marine Boat Lamp Starboard Bow Green Red Glass Light Lantern
This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. Vintage Bow Mounted Ship Lamp NAUTICAL GREEN AND RED OIL LAMP with BURNER
Up for bid is a vintage bow marker light fixture complete with oil burner made by Kilborn-Sauer Co. Out of Fairfield, Connecticut. The body is galvanized and top is brass. The top has written on it KILBORN-SAUER CO FAIRFIELD CONN U.S.A. The body is in good condition. Near the top rear the lip has small tear. The brass top has a small crack where it attaches to the galvanized metal. No cracks visible in glass but both pieces have several chips on the external ribs. The burner looks to be in working order and the wick screws up and down. You can use kerosene or bottled lamp oil that is easy to find. The tank appears clean and dry( I have not added oil to it. A small flash lite was temporarily inserted to show the colors of the lens) The burner twists counter-clockwise out of the bottom for easy refill and wick replacement. It is dented on back of lamp and missing one screw. it appears to be adjustable. I have not truly cleaned this item. The base is almost 4 1/2" in diameter and is stamped. S&J. This is STEELE& JOHNSON(boat,house) I'm not sure what year it was made(30's,40's? although it is from an old estate. the height is about 7" at that angle. I don't know if it could be wired? Vintage Bronze Boat Bow Lamp With Running Lights & Burgee Pole With CYC Flag
Here is a unique vintage heavy bronze or brass boat bow running lights lamp with a flagpole holder and what appears to be the original wooden pole. I have added the Carolina Yacht Club of Wrightsville Beach. North Carolina burgee flag to the pole. Our club was founded in 1853 and is the second oldest yacht club in the country. I believe the New York club is the oldest. This has been made into a wonderful decorative lamp and makes a great addition as a night light or nautical accent to any room. It has no markings. May be Perko and might have been for a vintage Chris Craft boat, I bought it years ago in Southport, NC and have enjoyed it over the years. Due to downsizing I just do not have a spot for it anymore.
