Vintage Antique Triplex Nautical Boat Lanterns Lamps Blue Red Glass Lens 1910 PR
You are bidding on a pair of antique nautical lanterns from Triplex. Pat 1910. This pair of boat lamps has one red and one rare BLUE lens. They are in very good condition. With some little issues. The glass is perfect. The housings themselves appear to maybe have been repainted black at some point. The fuel tanks are missing, as you can see they are basically just the housings. We shone a flashlight underneath them to show how lovely and rich the blue and red lenses glow. Nice for a restoration project, or even just for nautical décor. This auction is for an antique boat lantern. On the top it says. Trade Mark Triplex, Lens Pat Dec. 20, Pat’d 1910, other pats. Pend. On the back it says. Patented April 1 st. 1913. It has a red(port) lens and a green(starboard) lens. Maybe the green is really blue. In between is a removable brass screen. It is 7.5” tall. The top has 2 holes on opposite sides. It must have had a handle. The burner is missing. There is nothing in the bottom. You would be able to electrify it easily. There 2 dents on the red side above the glass. According to eBay policy. We have found that it’s been easier to find the port and starboard lamps for sale, but this stern lamp evaded our grasp for what seemed like forever. Antique Triplex Maritime Ships Lantern The lantern is marked with the Triplex logo and Pat'd 1910. On the other side it is marked Geo B Carpenter& Co Chicago. It definitely shows it's age. There are some dents and dings in the metal. The glass ridges on the lantern are chipped in some places. There is a drop of what appears to be white paint on the top section of the lantern. It definitely has that rustic charm. It stands 12" tall not counting the ring on top. The base is about 5.75" across. It has not been used as a lantern for quite some time. Here we have a set of 2 Triplex Marine Lanterns. These show a patent date of Dec 20 1910. I'm in no way an expert on these items but will relate what I do know: Each Lantern is identical in size/dimension. Measuring 11" tall by 7" wide. They are made of metal with glass lenses and brass or copper chimneys. The red colored Lantern has a RED Glass Lens The green colored Lantern has a BLUE Glass Lens. These are NON electrified lamps. Both Lanterns are in excellent condition considering their age. Please see my numerous photos in order to judge condition for yourself. I apologize if I'm not a wealth of information on these items. Rare nautical port side ships lantern. Red glass lens. Pat date Dec 20 1910. This lamp in very good condition. For being over 100 years old. Lamp has not been cleaned. In original found condition.Do not want to clean improperly Lamp/lantern measures 13-1/2" tall. Rad fount measures 10" and straight sides measure 5-1/4" and weight is about 3 pounds.Lamp is missing part or bottom latch. And has small chip on lens. And some light rust spots.
