It is rather large, and I believe it is made out of copper and brass, based on the way it has tarnished, but I am unsure. The burner itself, and the glass pieces appear to be in good shape, but the exterior needs to be refinished or polished. This would be an excellent project for a restoration, or just a very cool nautically themed piece to have around the house. I will be selling the second of these lanterns in a separate auction with similar details. The only difference between this one and the other is that this one has a piece of curved metal around the glass over the burner on the inside, and the glass cover is shorter. Wonderful vintage Tung Woo. Hong Kong, copper ships lantern. This one is marked"Anchor. 9" high x 4.5" wide or 22 cm x 13 cm Some of the copper has"greened' and spread to cover other parts. I was able to wipe most of it off easily with a wet rag. This shows some wear and age. I have sold and shipped a lot of fragile items. This will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap with enough cushion between the box sides to protect it.

Vintage Bronze Tung Woo Hong Kong EK1390 PORT Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical
Vintage Tung Woo PORT Lantern I recovered this Tung Woo port-side lantern from a sunken pipe barge while working off the coast of Borneo in the South China Sea in 1971. From it’s configuration it appears to have always been an electric lantern. I used it with a small battery light for a little evening ambiance on the deck table. So no heat damage from using it with candles. From the number of mounting holes(see last photo) it had a long service use history before I salvaged it. My guess is early post WWII. It has a heavy clear glass lens with an internal removable curved glass red filter. It’s got dents. Dimples and a wonky corner, decades of stains from living outside but no gouges or deep scratches. For sale is a trio of vintage lamps made using vintage copper and brass ship's lanterns made by Tung Woo of Hong Kong. The lamps have different colors of glass; green. Red, and clear(yellowish) The 3 ship lanterns are the same size, but one of them(with the clear glass) is primarily brass, is mounted on a taller wooden base, and is made into a lamp in a different style, making it taller than the other 2 lamps. The lanterns on the 2 small lamps appear to be primarily made of copper. The tops of the lanterns all open. The 2 smaller lanterns have silver-colored(chrome? reflectors installed behind the bulbs. The lamps all have 3-way switches, for lighting either 1) top bulb only, 2) lantern small bulb only, or 3) both bulbs. You are bidding on a beautiful vintage copper and brass TUNG WOO L-751 nautical ships oil lantern. It has the clear outer glass with the red insert glass. The red signaled other ships that the Captain was not aboard-therefore a NOT UNDER COMMAND lantern. The clear chimney on the inner oil lamp is cracked but that glass can be replaced. The more important outer clear and inner red are nice. The line in the red glass is not a crack-it is lead that has run down the glass! There is no rust or damage to this beautiful and large lantern other than mentioned. This is one of the nicest I have seen! Antique Copper STARBOARD Blue & PORT Red TUNG WOO Ship Lanterns Nautical Lights
This is a very nice set of antique Tung Woo ship lanterns. They have some general wear(tarnish/scuffs/scratches) But look very good for their age. They have"Tung Woo Hong Kong" stamped into the front with a flying horse. They are 7" tall, and 5" wide. They both have wicks inside. One wick is black, and one is white(unused? I don't see any obvious damage to these, and the glass is brightly colored with no cracks. I don't know too much about these, so if you have any specific questions, let me know. I am happy to help. Tung Woo Nautical Lanterns Copper-plated Starboard Port Pair Single-wick Decor Free Shipping This pair of lanterns from the famous Tung Woo maker were designed to illuminate the boats in the river or Hong Kong Harbor. These lamps were originally filled with oil. Lit and placed on each side of the vessel to prevent collisions in the waterways. Each is about nine(9) inches tall, five(5) inches deep. And six(6) inches wide. Each weighs about one pound. The rounded dome-shaped front has colored glass. While the back ends in a triangular corner to aide in directing the light outward. The different color glass in each lantern identifies which side the other boat is approaching-starboard is port wine red. Port is deep blue. That way. This pair aides in the decision making that others have to make to navigate around the owner of the that lantern. ... moreOne can see in the first picture in the gallery that the tops are stovepipe-s haped. And have handles. A widgit on the edge of the top keeps it secure and down; it needs to be released in order to flip open that stovepipe top. The copper patina is stunning on each navigational lantern. Raised letters identifies one as"Starboard" for the right side. And other as"Port" for the left side. They are in excellent condition. As they have been used as part of decor on the family fishing boat. The only blemishes are two small bumps on the Port front, and some drip trails, from oil probably. These marks only add to the authenticity of these beautiful accent pieces. They could be placed on a shelf, hung from the top handle, or mounted as wall sconces from the hook on the back as shown in the second photo. That same photo shows the oil container. Wick holder and reflector that is housed inside each lantern. This inner metal housing is stabilized by a rail. But slides out easily for filling. Antique Tung Woo ANCHOR Brass Nautical Lantern
More items from my in-laws' bait shop. Which has been a Chicago fixture for about 75 years. Tung Woo No. BN 207 ANCHOR nautical lamp. This has been converted to an electric lamp. There is Chinese writing and a picture of a man on the bottom of the lamp-perhaps a newspaper impression when it was made? The lamp is 13-1/2" tall and 6-1/2" wide.
