The plaque on the top says"Tung Woo Hong Kong Trade Mark No. M039" I do not ... moreknow much about it. As I recently found it and one more in my grandfathers garage after he passed away. It is rather large, and I believe it is made out of copper and brass, based on the way it has tarnished, but I am unsure. The burner itself, and the glass pieces appear to be in good shape, but the exterior needs to be refinished or polished. This would be an excellent project for a restoration, or just a very cool nautically themed piece to have around the house. I will be selling the second of these lanterns in a separate auction with similar details. The only difference between this one and the other is that this one has a piece of curved metal around the glass over the burner on the inside, and the glass cover is shorter. Please note that the flat rate shipping given is simply an estimate. Buyer will pay actual shipping, to be determined after the end of the auction. Vintage Solid Brass Ships Red& White Mast Head Light with Fresnal Lens Search This ship's mast head light is made up of solid brass parts with red and clear Fresnal glass lens' It measures 22 1/2" from the top of the handle to the base. It is approximately 8" in diameter and weighs 19 3/4 pounds. It obviously has been exposed to sea air and has a wonderful patina and wear. It has been electrified with new wiring that can be adapted to any use the new owner wishes. The glass has a few nicks that are old ones and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. This piece was probably from a fishing vessel because it has the red lens on top which means"Red over White- Fishing at night" If it was reversed with the clear on top it would mean"White over Red- Pilot Ahead" All orders over $25 require insurance ... morewhich will be included in the shipping cost.
