Old Perko lantern ready for display/use. This piece was wired as a light but I removed the wiring because it was faulty. It can very easily be rewired or I think a candle glowing inside would make this piece. Typical wear for this piece few dents and cracks in copper. The glass is original and has a nick near bottom ridge(pictured) The glass is marked Perko. The very bottom is missing one clip and there is a bees tiny nest in top. i was able to remove most of it but a small piece remains. Measures aprox. 14.5 inches tall. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. It has what looks like original inner parts, wires, etc. see pictures) I have not tested to see if it works. I prefer not to challenge things like this since I know nothing of how they work. The inside looks well used. 2- Vintage copper Perko Perkins Marine Barge Lamp Nautical Light Lanterns. Lanterns have clear glass and measure just over 13 inches from the bottom to the top of the handles. They are about 9 1/2 inches to the outside of each bracket mounted on the side of the lights. It looks like the screws in the handle on one of the lights has been replaced with new brass screws. The clear glass does have some small flea bites chips you can feel if you rub your finger around each edge of the rippled glass. It only appears that the lids or tops are copper or brass. Globe perfectly intact. 11" tall to top of ring. 7" wide on the bottom diameter. Really don't know much about it.
