This is from an estate in Iowa. Not my area of expertise. So I'm hoping the pictures will help. It is light that would have gone on the bow of an old boat. The red and green lenses are plastic and the body appears to be aluminum. Some scuffs. Looks very Art Deco in its shape. It measures about 6" in total length and sits 3" high. Vintage 1921 PERKO Green Red Marine Boat Navigational Bow Light
This is a vintage Perko clamp on navigational green& red bow light. Bow light has a Pat date on it of Dec 20. 1921. Light is marked Perko, Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Brooklyn NY, USA. Light is a clamp on type that measures 14 1/2 inches long not counting the turn clamp on bottom, adding that it comes to 17 inches with clamp open, space between clamp is 1& 10 8ths inches. Circumfrance around the top glass part is 10 inches. Light is 8 inches from top to the flashlight end. The glass lenses are red and a blue green, the green lens looks blue when not turned on, when on it looks like a blue green. Light takes two D batteries and works great. Offered here as is. Antique Red Green Perko Boat Bow Light mounted on teak or maybe mahogany wood. We found this piece at a fine Florida estate and were told it came off a Chris Craft vessel. It does have holes on each end of the(teak/mahogany wood) as though it would mount to the bow of a boat. There are minor age cracks in wood on each end. Red& Green Fresnel lens on Perko light is not cracked or chipped. The guy we got this from said he removed it from the Chris Craft boat himself and said it did work when it was removed. This piece is all ONE Piece- the switch on top clicks fine but this Perko navigational light was not possible for us to test. Offered as is. Large- measuring about 23" across and sits about 8" high. This appears to have been once chrome plated and there are a couple of specs where some has remained but it mostly a"HIGH GLOSSY POLISHED" Light. This"TEARDROP STYLE" light is about 5 1/4 long and 4 inches tall. There is a mounting bracket base that is attached to the light base ALL ONE PIECE. There are no mounting screws. This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. There is a decent size dent on the slightly-domed top(please see photos) The side of the light is marked with Perko's logo and company info. Being made in Brooklyn,NY. My guess as to age would be from around the 1930s or 40s. It could be even earlier-back into the 20s or so- but I'm not certain. The glass is in good condition. With no major breaks, cracks or scratches. ... morethere is normal wear consistent with age on both red and green glass(in the center particularly- please see photo) Also. Each of the red and green also have a very small chip in one of the thin ribs that runs laterally across the glass. Overall this is a really nice piece of maritime/nautical memorabilia, that could even possibly be used in a full-blown restoration of an old Chris-Craft or something. vintage nautical boat bow light red green torpedo bolt on port starboard U.S.A
This is a vintage bow light that is a bolt on unit and can be removed when not needed. It came in a box of fishing and hunting items. It's made in USA. I can't see a manufacturers name though. It has patent no. 2301714 on both sides. The internals look good. This wasn't stored with a battery in each side. So it's not all corroded or anything. The bulbs look clean and the parts look good, the inner housing have some light rust. The external parts show it's age. It could be cleaned up. But, I don't like to clean and shine old items, I would rather sell them as they come, as they look, and let the buyer decide. So, what it looks like is what it is. Vintage Chrome Ship Boating Bow Stern Green Red Warning Light Marine Navigation
Up for auction is a vintage boating warning light recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. I am unable to test this to see if it is operational or not, but certainly could be made to work. This light has a tear drop shape and would be mounted in the bow to determine port or starboard sides. It is consistent with 1950-60's era boats. This light would be great for reuse or as a nautical decorative accessory. There is pitting and paint on the chrome surface, as seen in the photos. The lens appears to be plastic. It has a nice deco appearance. I cannot find any markings or numbers. This light measures approximately 3 7/8" x 6 1/4" x 3 14" in size. A nice maritime piece. Here's a neat vintage item with red glass on one side and green on the other.several small chips. I believe it is brass. see photos for a better condition insight. It is dented on back of lamp and missing one screw. it appears to be adjustable. I have not truly cleaned this item. The base is almost 4 1/2" in diameter and is stamped. S&J. This is STEELE& JOHNSON(boat,house) I'm not sure what year it was made(30's,40's? although it is from an old estate. the height is about 7" at that angle. I don't know if it could be wired?
