Antique Ship Nautical Hanging Oil Kerosene Lantern Port Starboard Brass 5 Glass
Greetings! Today for your consideration we have a Beautiful Ship Nautical Oil/Kerosene Hang Lantern with five panels of glass(2 Red and 2 Green and 1 clear) incase in Brass with Port and Starboard embossed on each side respectively. Has a handle on the top to hang. And on the bottom it fits into slots to hold a kerosene or oil with wick. Top opens. There are no nicks or chips in the glass but some loss to color on the red and green see photos. Extremely great piece and would be great in your home for lighting or patio or boat. Air holes in the base for oxygen. Very large it measures 12 and 1/4" tall. The base measures 8 and 3/4" across the center and around the middle 27" Weighs 3.12 pounds and due to fragile nature and proper shipping I am adding 2 pounds for shipping. Wood block measures approx. 14 1/2" in length. 7 1/2" at the wooden pulley/block end, 9" at brass lantern end, and 2 3/4" thick. Brass Lanterns measure approx. 9" in height and 6 1/4" wide. Vintage Starboard Ship Kerosene Lantern Light Lamp Port Blue Glass Brass 21" BIG
Vintage ship's starboard lantern in a unique tri-plex shape. One of the largest I've seen at 21" from base to finial. 11" x 11" square with the typical curved front. Thick blue glass(not an interchangeable light filter) with horizontal grooves. Brass trim and a brass finial with hanging ring. Great"keyhole" vent holes throughout. Suffers from an untidy paint job and is in need of some updating. Missing original kerosene lamp and has been converted with a light socket. Needs new electrical cord. Brass has a lovely patina and there is still some vintage kerosene soot on the inside of this lamp. There is a small spot on the bottom by a switch of some sort that corrosion has eaten through the metal. But it's repairable and not endemic to the rest of the lantern. Glass is free of cracks or chips.

Pair Huge Brass Antique/Vtg Port/Starboard Navigation Lanterns-DURKEE-18" Tall Up for your consideration is a pair of huge brass antique or vintage ships port& starboard navigation lanterns by DURKEE. They measure approx. 11" W X 18" H-See images compared to 2 liter soda bottle. Both lanterns have their original light socket fixtures. However they were cut to be removed from the ship and one of the lanterns has an electric cord added, but easily removed with no modification of the lantern. There is a beautiful patina to the brass. I'm not sure how old they are, but probably 30's-40's. They are very heavy and well made. The mirrors attached to inside back of lantern are spotted from age, there are a few dings in the brass-see images. One is totally complete. The other is missing the two brass bands that hold ... morethe glass in. These bands appear simple to replicate and attach with small screws. Also the glass has a small chip on the inside of the glass. The screw in cap on top of one lantern is marked DURKEE MARINE PRODUCTS CORP STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. the other is not. Both glasses are marked DURKEE MARINE PROD and have bubbles in the glass. They both may be missing some sort of band around the top as there is discoloration there and some holes. These would be awesome restored and either used on a ship or decor for a man cave or nautically inspired room! It would be interesting to know what size ship these came off of as they are larger than any I saw in my searches. Please email with any questions or any knowledge you may have on these lanterns. For sale is a very unique item. This is a vintage circa early 1900's divided port and starboard red and green ships lantern. It measures 10 inches tall not counting the handle. With the handle it is 14 1/2 inches tall. Across the back it is 10 3/4 inches wide. Side measurements are 9 3/4 inches wide. The glass measures approx. 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. I do believe it is brass as a magnet does not stick. It is an electric lantern with the original on/off switch. It is in very good original condition. This was found in Key West FL. Up for bid is a pair of very large Navy Ship Bow Lights. Sale includes both port and starboard lights. These painted brass with real glass lenses. They stand over 14" tall. I have stripped the old military paint to expose the brass. I have not cleaned or polished them otherwise. They have a great natural patina. Both have light sockets but they are military marine spec so they would need converted over to 110& standard bulb for home use. Only one has a cord. The bottoms look different because one still has the rubber deck gasket attached. This is a very unique Maritime item. It's brass light with 5 sided glass. They had filaments of green and red. Port and Starboard are on the light. As you can see the colors had brittle. I cant find any maker on the light. It is 13" tall and around 25" around from the thickest section 9" Diameter. A great piece to have. Needs a good cleaning and polish. Please see pictures.

Recently acquired them at an auction that a party's collection of marine/nautical items were being sold. We will have a number of these pieces for sale separately in our Ebay store. The lanterns would make a great gift or keep them for yourself. I would guess these lanterns are of World War II vintage. No maker marks or year made marks on the lanterns that I can ascertain. Great set of port(red) and starboard(green) brass ship lanterns for your decor needs. The lanterns were electrified at some point in the past. The lenses in each one are glass and not cracked or blistered. Each glass piece ... morewas caulked into each of the lanterns at some point in the past. The lantern cases are in good shape. Show some finish loss. The red lantern has the lip along the top of the lantern bent in and that bottom corner has a ding. The glass lens was not damaged there in either place. Each lantern is 14.25" tall. By 11.5" across, by 10.75" wide. I do not see a maker's mark on the lanterns. The brass tops screw off to access the inside of each lantern. Someone has put aluminum foil inside to get better reflection of the light thru to the lens. These were electric lanterns originally, but the light unit inside is certainly not the original one. The back piece that the lanterns would slide on to a bar are still in place. The cords are the lanterns are older, but still look to be in usable condition. I would recommend you have the cords and wiring checked out by a professional before using them from a safety perspective. The wall mount is about 4 1/4 inches wide and about 1 3/4 inches tall. The two mount holes are about 3 1/2 inches on center of each other. Each light measures 7 5/8 inches tall(measured from the top of the wall mount to the bottom of the globe cage) To access the bulb, you spin off the cage and the undamaged glass globe drops out. The red and green globes are true red and green glass. Both lights have been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts that are rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb socket takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. Each light weighs about 4 pounds and can be used for interior or exterior lighting projects. Polished, but could use just a little more finishing. This is a used light that was recovered during one our many different salvage operations. It measures 6½” tall(with the bale down) x 5” wide x 4½” deep(add 3” for light divider) and weighs 2½ pounds. The lantern is all brass has been polished and clear coated. For your consideration is a matching pair of Perko Brass Ship Lanterns. These were the port and starboard lanterns on a ship. These are vintage. I do not know the exact age of them. Each lantern has a Fresnel glass lens. They have been converted to electricity so that you can plug them in and they light up. They both work as you can see in the pictures. These are large lanterns each measuring approx. 12 1/2" T 10" W and each weighing over 11 lbs. They have some scuffs to the metal as you can see in the photos but overall are in great condition. The lens cover on one has 2 chips on an edge. The lanterns are in good shape for their age and the lanterns themselves stand about 9 inches tall. They do have some dents and dings towards the tops of the lanterns but the glass has no cracks and is in good shape. They do have alot of oxidation, minor on the outside and major on the inside. I was not going to clean them because I did not want to discolor them but they will hopefully clean up very nicely if cleaned properly. In the last picture you can see one hinge is slightly bent so it is a little harder to close and open that side of the lantern but each opening on the lanterns do lock.
