ANTIQUE NAUTICAL SHIPS LIGHT LAMP - SHIP SALVAGE- RARE
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This light was purchased at an estate sale where most of my other auction listing came from.I was told by the folks selling that this was a ships lamp or light and would have been in a cabin onboard a ship. I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. Antique Brass Nautical Light Ship Lantern This is a heavy(7-1/2lb. antique brass ship lantern. It is in good condition with the exception of several dents and a bent section of the guard. Please see photos. The internal lamp part is missing but a big 22oz Yankee Candle fits inside perfectly! Candle not included. The fixture is ventilated on top and bottom. It was designed for a flame burning oil lamp originally. The patina is nice. The glass lens is in great shape. The silver colored reflector inside is also in excellent condition. Antique 1800s Nautical Post Lantern Lighthouse Lamp Ship Mast Anchor Light Brass
Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This is a large nautical lantern measuring 14" tall and 6" wide. It is in"as found" condition with a dark patina on the brass, dirty glass, small dents, tiny cracks in the brass, and various other age/use related marks. I have up for sale a rare vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s Marine Division ARTISTIC BRASS& BRONZE WKS NY ship oil lamp lantern complete with original hanging bracket. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. RARE Antique New England Whale Oil Ship's Lamp With Blue Fresnel Lens
This beautiful ships lamp measures approximately 16in.x9in. and was found in a seaside barn in Massachusetts. The lamp has a heavy blue/green fresnel lens in two pieces joined by some type of fiber caulking. The body and lens cage are made from a heavy metal and are painted aqua-green. There are a couple of chips in the seam of the lens but is otherwise fine. The overall condition is fair with some rust and pitting that could be cleaned and reprinted if desired. There is no sign of wiring so I assume this was meant to be lit by oil. I have never seen a similar lamp and can find no maker's mark. Maritime Tug Boat Ship Solid Brass Wall Industrial 6LB Antique 3pc Lighting Lamp
Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. It has an extended piece on the side but no knob to turn it on or off and it looks like it never had one and would have been wired and utilized with an on/off switch from the wall(just guessing on that) Thank you for your patience with me. Antique Vintage Brass Ship or Railroad Lantern Dresser Railway Lamp & Signal Co
This stunning old lantern belonged to my parents. And has been in my family for as long as I can remember. I do not know the exact age or the original function. The high level of craftsmanship in this lantern is amazing. It appears to be of solid brass with a wooden handle attached at the top. The only place that a magnet will stick to the metal is on the fitting that holds the wick. There are two rectangular glass windows. The hinged door is opened by pulling up on a slide loop. There are two round silver metal reflectors on the inside walls of the lantern. The footed base has a bolt and nut for attaching the lantern to a surface. The Round knob that adjusts the wick is marked Dressel and the number 0. I believe that this stands for the Dressel Lamp Works of Arlington New Jersey. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Extremely nice old ship light. Electric and probably from early 1900's. I got this approx. 50 years ago. The galvanized finish was deteriorating. Instead of spray painting. I had it brass plated. Still looks good- can always paint. Made by Lovell. Arlington, NJ which is on the screw on brass lid. Lens is in very good condition. Approx. 13 1/2" high- base 9 1/2" wide- weighs approx. 12 lbs.

Here is a Large 8 inch tall RED LENSE REAL GLASS marked Corning on glass Nautical SHIP. DOCK, or PIER Nautical Light. This 8 inch tall lamp has a 3 1/2 inch tall RED glass bezile lense, There are only a couple of specs on the glass that appears to be in very good condition NO CRACKS. The base is 6 inches across and the light is very heavy duty. Not sure if it is military as it appears to be somewhat grey in coloring. There is a number 9-S 4473-L in raised lettering on top. There is a 64 inch heavy duty cord with some type of plug in socket end see photo 5. Not sure if from a ship, dock or pier. Not sure if it works or what type of power supply it used. Suppose it could be rewired. REALLY NICE CONDITION VINTAGE NAUTICAL PIECE. Not sure if it could have been from the RAILROAD?
