Brass was originally used on ships and that changed largely during the 70's where more and more cruise liners and ocean liners started using aluminum. The construction on these salvaged lights is excellent and last for years and years under all weather conditions and that why they are perfect for beach homes and can be used both indoor and outdoor. To open the lights the 3 screws that are attached on would have to be opened. When we salavge these lights we strip off the old wiring and paint and polish it to regain it former luster and glory. A small threading is then put on these lights so that it can wired to use easily any regular socket will fit right on it. We also replace or repair old parts that are damaged or broken. Globe is made of strong glass height: 4.5 inches appx Lenght: 8 inches appx Width: 4.5 inches appx Weight: 3 lbs Screw holes: 2 Please note the lights have minor differences in condition please check the pictures before you buy. This is an old lantern. I do not know where it was used. It has old paint and surface rust. It is about 5“ wide and 6” deep. With the handle up it is about 14” The top cap is 3 ½” in diameter. The side has a slide plate for inside access. There is a small glass window on the back. The front flat glass is 5“ in diameter. It has some deposits on the inside. I do not know if it needs a kerosene holder or work with a candle. Neither are included. It is for display and non-operating. As always since 2001. Vintage ~ Antique Pair Brass Nautical Oil Lamps with Gimbals(no glass shades) ~ heavy and solid. Each weighs 3 1/4 pounds, counting the gimbals ~ height is 8 1/4" ~ width at widest point is 3 1/2" Please view my photo's. As they are part of my description. These unrestored lamps are in nice condition. I have not polished them. No dents or dings. Wicks are present and will move up and down. All parts move freely. Both burners are hinged. Fantastic vintage Perko Mast glass threaded globe. 3" diameter fresnel ball globe. Bee hive shape. Clear glass. A few small chips to the bottom threaded cut edge of the glass globe, seen in pictures. No chips to the outer bee hive circular edges. A small amount of shallow surface scratches, that do not show much in the pictures. No damage to the glass is visible when threaded to the metal base. This Perko Mast glass globe light cover is in great vintage condition.

Thick Red and Blue glass. Inside is a label for DHR( Den Haan Rotterdam) Outside is marked MADE IN HOLLAND. Electrified. Tested and working fine. Not sure if these were oil lamps at one time. The case is 14 inches tall measuring to the top of the handle.The round portion with the globe is 8 inches in diameter and the base portion is 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches square. This has been wired so the light is in good working order. There is a brass plate on the outside(pictured) it shows Starboard RT 400 NK 77. Vintage Nautical Industrial Brass Explosion Proof Hanging Lamps w/ wiring - rare
Up for auction is a rare and unique pair of brass hanging lamps. Typically brass lamps and lighting were used in nautical applications but also found in industrial settings so its hard to say what these were originally used for. These feature the explosion proof cages and glass that characterize much of the industrial lighting. The hanging/ceiling mount hardware is elegant and should be ready to wire up(though I am unable to test the units) Overall length is 26" Lamp shade is about 8.5" diameter. I have been unable to find a manufacturer's mark or label so far. Perfect for repurposing in your restaurant. Reuse. Recycle, Repurpose Description: This lantern retains a beautiful old. Sea worn patina. There is the original Wedge twist-in burner. The clear lens appears to be without chips or cracks but it definitely would benefit from a cleaning. Stands 11 inches tall to the top of the ring handle. 4 3/4 inch base diameter. There is a modern"s" hook on the top loop that must have been used to hang the lantern by a previous owner. We didn't make an attempt to remove it. The steering wheel is wood and a brass where the glass globe is held in. It measures approximately 16" from the top of the glass to the bottom of the wood and has a place to hang on the wall. There is a cord and plug for the electrical connection and will set off the wall roughly 6" once hung. Its in very nice shape and has a nice aged took to it. Very heavy I believe bronze/brass chromed over. The top of the lens reads 186-P. Up for bid is a wonderful pair of painted galvanized Vintage Nautical Large Ship Bulkhead Passageway Wall Sconce Caged Lanterns Lights measuring approximately 22" long from top of wall mount and the cage is approximately 10" in diameter. The lights are in excellent condition; the fabulous white glass globe has no chips or cracks. The original wiring is complete and working on one of the lights as shown in the photos; the other light's wiring has been cut when removed from the ship. An easy rewire as all parts are present. The only marks I can find are on the mounting which are the letters SLK and China and the numbers 373ME and an emblem which appears to be a cross in a round circle. Vintage Copper Ship lantern Original NOT reproduction. This was on a ship! Stern Co 1974 Double light front which is rare Has a few dents- nothing major. One on the top one on the back side. Please see pictures. Has set up for 2 light bulbs- I have always used as a display on my kitchen floor in the corner. I'm assuming it needs to be re- wired if you want to use as a light. I have 2 and honestly am running out of room for display. I'm also a huge Roseville collector and need the spot for a piece of Roseville. If you want two- I have another I THINK! I could part with. Bronze Nautical Scissor Lamp, Vintage Retractable Ship’s Sconce
Vintage bronze and brass nautical retractable scissor lamp sconce. Extends out to more than two and a half feet. Contracts to 17 inches. Rewired with reproduction green cloth covered cord with inline switch. Very good condition with minor dents and scratches, when fully extended the piece dips slightly(it could be tightened I think) The sconce has about 10 feet of wire to plug into an outlet, but it could be easily wired directly into the wall.
