Here we have a very large ship or boat lamp or lantern marked"Anchor" This estate found lantern is made from solid brass which has been lacquered. Although the lacquer is crazing from age. It still displays very nicely. The center cap in the top flips up and it also opens at the base of the top as well. There is an oil lamp inside that does have the wick. In the center there is a very thick ribbed glass lens that has no cracks. There is a brass anchor hook on the top and the bottom. No dents, nice vintage condition. Very large, the lamp itself measures an impressive 18 1/2" tall not including the anchor hooks at the top and bottom. Diameter is about 9 3/4" This sizable lamp displays nicely. It is made out of brass and has one side with green ribbed glass and the other side with red ribbed glass. There is also a divider made of brass that separates the two colors from view of passing ships on the high seas(sometimes seen missing or damaged on other lights) The brass has a nice patina from many decades of life. There is a decent size dent on the slightly-domed top(please see photos) The side of the light is marked with Perko's logo and company info. Being made in Brooklyn,NY. My guess as to age would be from around the 1930s or 40s. It could be even earlier-back into the 20s or so- but I'm not certain. The glass is in good condition. When mounted to the ceiling, this light will extend down by about 7 inches. To access the bulb, you spin off the brass cage and the glass globe spins off. The top side of the light has three mounting legs. You will need a mounting space that is about 5 1/2 inches square. The deflector cover is mounted to the cage with three screws, so if for some reason you do not want the deflector cover it is removable. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb base, but because this is a low profile light, you will need a short style bulb or 75 watts or less. Vintage Chrome Ship Boating Bow Stern Green Red Warning Light Marine Navigation
Up for auction is a vintage boating warning light recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. I am unable to test this to see if it is operational or not, but certainly could be made to work. This light has a tear drop shape and would be mounted in the bow to determine port or starboard sides. It is consistent with 1950-60's era boats. This light would be great for reuse or as a nautical decorative accessory. There is pitting and paint on the chrome surface, as seen in the photos. The lens appears to be plastic. It has a nice deco appearance. I cannot find any markings or numbers. This light measures approximately 3 7/8" x 6 1/4" x 3 14" in size. A nice maritime piece. Vintage Crouse-Hinds Ship/ Tug/ Barge light with Fresnel lens. This is a really nice used light. Inside is very nice. Reflector plate is spotless and the bulb socket is nice with no cracks or breaks. I have spent countless hours trying to get a history of this lamp with no success. I can't even find any pictures of this thing anywhere on the internet. I even found some old crouse- hinds catalogs with nothing on this lamp.The only place that I saw one a little alike was a history salvage place in Chicago. They sold that one but wouldn't say what the selling price was. Everything in that place was HIGH dollar. Lamp works nice. Takes a 300 watt VPS 30 bulb. I couldn't find one around the house so I bought a large 150 watt bulb and a socket extension to get the bulb to reach the reflector plate inside, works nice and bright. This light was painted once with very little rust. Light is forged marked Crouse-Hinds Comp. Syracuse N.Y. USA and also HLP-1924. Has the old Crouse-Hinds logo forged into the cover plate. Light measures 27" tall with a diameter of 9" It is used, you could use it as is or restore this thing. When plugged in it covers a large area when shining. Need more pictures,let me know. Bronze brass navy ship mast light works
Antique bronze and brass navy mast light. Made by L.L.R. CO. Not sure what it stands for. Not sure what ship this came from from I'd say it's from the 40's or 50's. It has been 100% restored. I pulled the old wires out and wired it for normal household use. The bronze was very dark when I got this item so it has been sandblasted and has 2 clear coats to retain color. The brass rods were cleaned. All the lights on the inside have been replaced. The glass was also cleaned. Amazing piece! Stands 15" tall.
