And everything else is made of solid brass including screws and nuts so that the compass would not be affected by metallic metal. It is marked“Sherwoods Limited” on the ceramic flame spreader. This is an old lantern. I do not know where it was used. It has old paint and surface rust. It is about 5“ wide and 6” deep. With the handle up it is about 14” The top cap is 3 ½” in diameter. The side has a slide plate for inside access. There is a small glass window on the back. The front flat glass is 5“ in diameter. It has some deposits on the inside. I do not know if it needs a kerosene holder or work with a candle. Neither are included. It is for display and non-operating. As always since 2001. Nice pair of vintage Ship lights. Selling as is. Can use a good polishing. Will try to describe as best as I can. Copper lights with bronze hardware/signage. Marked STUURBOORD and BAKBOORD. Thick Red and Blue glass. Inside is a label for DHR( Den Haan Rotterdam) Outside is marked MADE IN HOLLAND. Electrified. Tested and working fine. Not sure if these were oil lamps at one time. The tray holding the light does slide out. The hardware does seem to indicate the lamps are side mounted. Each light is about 2 pounds 5 ounces.

This little lantern is in very good condition. I don't know the age of it and there is not a manufacturer name on it. It is nicely done. I is electric. The bulb in it is marked USA. I was able to read Sylvania and 230V. I wiped the end to read it more clearly and all of the letters went away. It is a dual pole bulb. The bulb receptacle screws out and there are screws that can be removed or loosened to place wires into it then tightened back to make a very good positive connection. This is a very high quality reproduction of an original ship’s lamp made in 1842. It has a heavily weighted base. And may be used as a table lamp. It comes with gimbals for wall mounting. It bears a plaque which says“GV HARNISCH EFTF GRUNDLAGT 1842 KJØBENHAVN. 4633. It is solid brass. With a glass globe and chimney. It has been used but is in excellent condition. It has a small dark spot just above the gimbal mount, and another very small spot just above the wick adjustment. Don’t know what caused these. On the bottom there is a sticker. Made in Denmark. This listing is for a large solid brass ship's lantern marked"PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDWE CORP. It measures approximately 14-3/4" tall(excluding handle) and has a base diameter of 7-1/8" The lantern has been painted black over the brass which shows through in several places(see photos) The lantern is an estate find and we do not know if the paint is original. The high quality of the paint job prompts us to wonder. The glass globe has no cracks in it and the original tank plug is present. The glass is marked Perko 31-L-17A. The oil burner is missing. The lantern takes an oil burner with a 1-3/16 ID thread. There are some minor dings and dents in the lantern as well as a small split in the cap where it joins with the glass globe(see photos) There are no repairs and the split does not affect the integrity of the cap. Offered here is a Nautical Ship Lantern Marked: ANCHOR on brass tag. This entire lantern is solid brass with some of the frame tarnished& copper in color"looking" I am unsure of the type of brass? Has a red color tarnish to it and this lantern could be polished out really nicely to a consistent gold color if desired. No manufacture dates; patent dates; or any other markings found other than the word Anchor. This lantern has never been lit. And is NOS. I took a large powerful magnet to all parts, and the only time the magnet stuck was on the widest part of the burner frame; the other parts of the burner are"brass" and non-magnetic. A couple of very small dents in the frame is all the flaws worth mentioning. Everything turns; rotates; operates as it was as new! This lantern stands 13-7/8" tall exactly and is 7-5/8" ... moreat it's widest diameter with the bottom of the frame measuring 6-5/8" exactly. The distance between gimballed bail handle eye loops is 19-1/2" while hanging. The upper gimballed handle allows the user to open the entire top ventilator to remove the fuel pot while hanging& remaining attached. This lantern weighs 6.22 lbs on scale"without fuel& having the inside glass chimney" It is missing the inside glass chimney that would measure 1-1/4" across outside bottom diameter& would stand 4-1/2" tall approximately. The clear Fresnel globe is in perfect shape having air bubbles& cast lines and swirls; has smooth surface inside& refractory surface outside& measures: 5-5/16" in diameter across outside top& bottom& 4-3/4" tall overall. It is non removable& this lantern appears to be a fixed globe type. This item fairly clean other than dust on the inside& ready to use or display in a nautical collection! But thanks to the picture on the box, I know that this was never an oil lamp. This was an actual electric lamp that was manufactured and sold by Perko, and it was intended to be used inside the home. It is hard to read, but it looks like 1972 is the postmark date on the box. I have had this Perko hanging electric lamp for over a year now. And in that time, I haven't been able to find out anything about it. I haven't even been able to find a picture of another one online. If it weren't for the original shipping box, I wouldn't know anything about it at all. This lamp has some minor straches. But no dings or dents that I can see. The ... moreglass appears to be crack and chip free. I'm not sure if the lamp currently works, but it would be best to have it serviced and/or re-wired regardless. Pair of 2- Old Brass ship lanterns. Made by the PERKINS MARINE LAMP CORP. out of Brooklyn New York. Brass Has a beautiful natural aged patina. The original glass lens is starting to turn a very slight amethyst color. The lanterns inside were made by E. MILLER Co. And are marked. Look at the pictures closely. This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. And would clean up nicely if you choose to do so. Both show expected wear. And have a few dings. Overall in Very Good Condition.

Large 15" Tall Antique Ship Nautical Maritime LANTERN Light PERKO? Restore Parts
Offered for sale is this old antique Maritime Ship Lantern for restoration or parts. I do not know who the maker was but it has a strong resemblance to some of the Perko Lamps that I am seeing on Ebay. It stands just under 15" tall. 7 1/2" wide and 7" deep. The ribbed glass is in good overall condition showing no cracks but could use a good cleaning. The original kerosene burner and font is missing and the lamp has been converted to electricity, but it does need to be re-wired as the wiring is old. This is a great candidate for restoration or to be used as parts. The bottom panel is hinged but is missing the slide rod to keep it closed which should be an easy fix. It is a rather heavy lantern weighing just over 6 pounds. Up for sale is a very old Nautical Maritime Navigation Brass PORT Lantern/Light. Let me start by saying I do not know what I have here; it is old. Weathered and has some rust and oxidizing on the lantern. The top hanging part is loose as screws not secure in the back of it. I believe it is copper and or brass. I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. There is no interior piece that lights the lantern. The glass has come loose and the metal frame has separated in the corner but all of this can be fixed. Could use a cleaning/polishing. For its age. It is in very good condition. Fuel holder part has been soldered near top(this may be a manufacturer's doing, and not a repair, since all seem to have it) and glass chimney is cracked near top. See photos for condition.
