Maritime Navigational Lanterns.The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and ... morethe top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging loop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. Vintage Marine Ship Navigation Light Nautical Maritime Lantern Clear Boat WW II
My husband is organizing his shop and parting with quite a few items. Here is one of those items and his description of it: Maybe a good Christmas gift for the nautical collector in your life? Vintage marine ship’s iron navigation light. 180 degree clear glass Fresnel lens Navy? WWII? I picked this up at an estate sale and planned to use it as yard lighting. Turned out it did not fit the landscape plan. This is a large ships navigation light. Either for the stern(showing white two points abaft of the beam, starboard and port) or masthead light(forward, showing two points abaft of beam, both starboard and port) This shows a bit of light surface rust in spots. The result of years at sea. There is no internal mounting or wiring for a bulb, but that could be easily designed and installed. The gasket around the hinged lid is missing, but could ... morebe replaced with some type of weather-stripping. There are two small chips in the Fresnel lens, as shown in the photo. These should not affect the durability of the lens. You can see the imperfections in the lens from the glass casting process, as sign of its age. This stands 11 ½ inches tall. 8 inches in diameter(across) 9 inches across the top latch and hinge. The Fresnel lens is full width and 7 inches high. The base is round with“bayonet” mounting slots and is 5 ¾ inches outside and 5 3/16 inch inside diameter. The lid is held closed by a hinge on one side and thumb bolt on the other. The lid swings open freely. This is how I found it, I only cleaned the lens to confirm no other damage. I put a light inside it to show what it looks like illuminated for the pictures. The light does not come with this piece of marine hardware. As many ships navigation lights are made of brass or bronze. I can’t help to wonder if this was from a WWII ship, a time when these metals were in short supply and needed for munitions manufacture for the war effort. Pictures reflect a bent spot along one of the upper seams. Approximate size is 14.5" tall including carry handle by 9" wide. This lantern has NOT been converted to an electrical light. I have included the lighted pictures so you can see the brilliance of the green glass. Glass does not have any cracks or major scratches in them. The glass does not have any marks in the glass, other than what appears to be consistent with how glass was made during that time. I do not know the exact age of this lantern. However it is the only one I have seen with 5 semi-globe sections. I was going to convert this Kerosene/oil lamp into a lighted lamp and clean it up for my nautical ... morethemed room, but never got around to it. I now am moving and liquidating some of my stuff. I did pay quit a bit for this lamp due to its unusualness and size, however I am willing to take any reasonable offers. Which was made in England, and is in working order. The antique copper starboard oil lamp is a Tung Woo, and is in excellent condition for its age. The 3 way light switch controls both the lamp and lantern, so one can light both lamps or just one of them. The vintage ship in the bottle has a chain attached to the cork, which is anchored to a brass post on the base of the lamp. The base of this lamp is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the barometer. Gorgeous Port Light Lantern. Lantern measures approx. 10 inches tall(not counting the pail 3.5" type handle) by 7 inches wide by 6 inches deep. I have sold a half dozen nautical lamps and this is by far the fairest of them all.inside 7 out. It has a beautiful patina. Only one very small dent, no scratching or chips. There are two layers of curved glass.the exterior glass(Barcelona Glass) is clear and a red internal curved piece. Both pieces excellent.no chips or cracks There is an opening. Surrounded by a rubber gasket, going into the lamp. Not sure what it is for, maybe a lead light. I placed a small light in the body to show what this lamp can look like. HUGE 19" KILBORN SAUER CO. Nautical Ship navigation Light Lantern Antique
This is a HUGE antique ship navigation light. I have never seen one this large. It weighs over 17 lbs and measures 24"including the handle. The bottom plate is missing. The globe is red and is stamped and made by Perko so I think just the glass was made by them. Im not sure if this has the original wiring or if it was rewired for personal use there is a light bulb inside that hangs from the top. The bulb and wires can be easily removed.

vintage DHR Den Haan Rotterdam nautical ship boat light lamp lantern Holland
Nice pair of vintage Ship lights. Selling as is. Can use a good polishing. Will try to describe as best as I can. Copper lights with bronze hardware/signage. Marked STUURBOORD and BAKBOORD. Thick Red and Blue glass. Inside is a label for DHR( Den Haan Rotterdam) Outside is marked MADE IN HOLLAND. Electrified. Tested and working fine. Not sure if these were oil lamps at one time. The tray holding the light does slide out. The hardware does seem to indicate the lamps are side mounted. Each light is about 2 pounds 5 ounces.

This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. Large 15" Tall Antique Ship Nautical Maritime LANTERN Light PERKO? Restore Parts
Offered for sale is this old antique Maritime Ship Lantern for restoration or parts. I do not know who the maker was but it has a strong resemblance to some of the Perko Lamps that I am seeing on Ebay. It stands just under 15" tall. 7 1/2" wide and 7" deep. The ribbed glass is in good overall condition showing no cracks but could use a good cleaning. The original kerosene burner and font is missing and the lamp has been converted to electricity, but it does need to be re-wired as the wiring is old. This is a great candidate for restoration or to be used as parts. The bottom panel is hinged but is missing the slide rod to keep it closed which should be an easy fix. It is a rather heavy lantern weighing just over 6 pounds. I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. There is no interior piece that lights the lantern. The glass has come loose and the metal frame has separated in the corner but all of this can be fixed. Could use a cleaning/polishing. For its age. Lantern is not dented or structurally damaged. Lantern looks like it was cared for very well for many years. But has been neglected in recent years. There are some"heat marks" on the base, and it looks"spotty" in places. These might be removed by polishing, and lantern is currently in need of polishing. Fuel holder part has been soldered near top(this may be a manufacturer's doing, and not a repair, since all seem to have it) and glass chimney is cracked near top. See photos for condition.
