This is a vintage copper oil lamp filler by Sternau& Co. From the early 1900s. This was also used to fill the burners under the old Sternau coffee makers and chafing dishes. It stands about 4.25" from the base to the top of the center finial, 5.75" from the base to the top of the spout, is 4-1/8" in diameter at the center of the rounded container. This has the original patina and I decided to leave it that way rather than polish it, as some people prefer this aged copper appearance. I'm not sure if this is solid copper or plated, but for sure the handle and the little bridge between the container and the spout is copper plated, as what appears to be brass shows through on this area. This has a swirly handle and a long, thin, curvy spout that has a tip cover that is attached by a chain. At the upper end of the handle is a round knob-like pump that can be pushed in and out and seems to have a nice spring action. The finial cover unscrews at the top of the oil can. There is patina over all of the surface and some verdigris and darker patches that can be seen in the photos. There is one ding in the surface of the body on the right center area when the spout is pointing toward the left as in the first photo. The base of the oil can is stamped with the Sternau& Co logo(S&Co) surrounded by a circle with the words Trade Mark and Patented around the logo. Someone had scratched in the initials MA on the bottom of the oil can near the logo. Please see photos to best determine condition and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions! Pair(2) Antique Adlake Non Sweating Lanterns Box Style 1 Way Signal Lamps Red Pyrex Glass These unique lanterns were used by river lamplighter to mark the shoals on Big Lake George in the St. John's River(central Florida) I live near Lake George and know of this man. The son of the original lamplighter kept these and was in the process of removing galvanized paint and fitting them with electrical lamps to use as entrance lights to his home. Unfortunately he gave up on the project. You can see by the pictures that the paint has been cleaned off of one of the lamps. Very cool and Large lanterns. Each measures 16" inches tall x 9" inches wide x 9" inches deep. No guts to the lamps are inside. But you could display with candles, or wire for electric. Ankerlicht Dutch Nautical Ship Lantern
Copper or Brass Ship Lantern. Wired for an electric bulb and with a wall mount bracket. The overall height from the base to the top acorn nut is about 14.5 inches. The depth from front to back is about 9.5 inches and the diameter is 7 inches. The metal surface has patina from age. The fresnel glass globe is intact and has a nice lavender hue.

Antique ships hanging lantern from the days of the grand sailing ships. This metal steel or iron(its magnetic) lantern was produced by H.A.G. Helvig MANUFACTURERS NEW YORK as shown on the tag on bottom front. Features a 2 sided lantern with a rounded front. There is a red circular glass shield in front of the kerosene or oil lantern wick. Back door has a slide into the hole to lock in place. Lantern can be hung by the top of slid onto a post on the backside slot. This is a riveted and welded piece with no screws as would be in a modern style lantern. SOLID with NO rust outs of holes. Red color is used in navigation to designate the port(left) side of a vessel. Removeable DIETZ CONVEX oil lantern from NEW YORK. Top removes easily to refill and change the wick.

Here is a real show stopper for you! Offered for sale is an original antique. Solid brass CANDLE BLACK OUT ANCHOR Lantern made by Bulpitt& Sons of Birmingham, England. This candle, black out lantern is extremely rare, and almost never found for sale. It is from the late 1800's and is complete with it's original heavy glass globe, which is in perfect condition, showing no cracks or chips. The lantern likewise shows no signs of rust or cracks. This lantern would polish up easily and make a stunning show piece! It is 14" tall with out the top and bottom bales being extended. It is 9.5" across and weighs 17 pounds. Rare NOAAS REASEARCHER R-103 Vessel Emergency Light Acquired and restored by an engineer that was on the ship The Researcher R-103 was built in 1968 and had this name from 1970-1987 then it was renamed. The vessel was decommisioned in 1996. Included is the complete detailed drawing of the lamp circuit. Holds the charge for use once the battery is taken out. Use a 6 volt battery to charge and remove for use of the light. I was told by the engineer that restored it that it works and the bulb appears to be intact. The lamp holding the bulb is brass. The red box is metal. Weighs 5 pounds 9oz. The total height is 11" x 9" wide& 4" deep. The red box measures 6.25" x 6.75" x 4" The letters of the name of the ship are cut out of the red paint. Unusual Antique "Perko" Maritime Bow OIL Lantern ~Starboard & Port Lenses
Vintage“Perko” Maritime Bow Marker Oil Lamp Port& Starboard There seams to have been some repair to secure the Lenses and a Copper divide has been welded in on front of lamp. The Main case is galvanized metal and the top is brass. The Body is in good condition. With a mounting bracket on back and a Perko" oval stamped brass logo plate. The Lenses are red and a green(Port& Starboard) and in Perfect condition The Oil Burner seems to be a working unit with a wick still in place. The bottom of the lamp has a pinch clip insert. Vintage Nautical Weighted Oil Lamp, Gimbal-Mount Brass Boat Lantern w/ Chimney
Antique Brass Ship's Oil Lantern. Looks like it was never used. Very nice condition; only one small dent in the wick assembly. And that can probably be pushed back from behind the guard very easily. There is no maker's mark or logo on the lamp. But there is an"RV" and an anchor on the wick turn knob. The glass chimney appears to be original to the lamp. Dimensions: 12 7/8" overall. 5 3/4" from back of mounting plate for the gimbal to the outside of the lamp. Chimney measures 6 7/8" in height and is 3 1/4" in diameter, the lamp body measures 7 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/4" total width including the gimbal mounting pins that project 3/8" from either side of the lamp body. The plate on the back of the anchor light reads"J.H. PETERS& BEY HAMBURG 11. The lamp body is made of galvanized metal and the chimney cap is made of copper. This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

Offered with no reserve. A rare Perkins Marine Lamp. This is made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Company of Brooklyn New York. Has a small brass ID tag just under the toggle switch. See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. Large, Rare Antique Brass Perkins Ship Lantern, BLUE GLASS
My father purchased this ship lantern in 1964 at moss point Mississippi.It came from one of the ships in the National Defense Reserve(Ghost Fleet) that was anchored in Blakeley River. AL. It's in good shape with a few signs of age and wear. The glass does have a small ship in it. Its condition is further detailed in the photographs. An antique dealer informed me that based on the design. Quality, and materials used, it was likely built in the 1940’s by the prolific Kilborn-Sauer Company based in Fairfield Connecticut. It measures 11½” tall(with the bale down) x 7” wide x 5½ deep and weighs 3½ pounds. The brass has been polished and clear coated. While the tin has been painted green and antiqued. Also, the brass chimney is stamped with Kilborn-Sauer’s Company information. This lantern still has the original electric lighting fixture and oil font assembly attached. The green ribbed door glass lens is the original and in near perfect condition. You are looking at an Antique Copper Anchor Lantern/ Lamp. This lantern is 19 inches tall and comes with an electric light kit as well as oil burner. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. Lamp is hand machined in pure heavy-gauge copper with brass trim.
