Vintage maritime lamp. We believe it to be copper and brass with glass. When you look at on one side the lamp looks straight, as you turn it to the other side it looks a little lopsided, just adds to the character though! A beautiful, wonderful lamp, recently removed from a house-was working fine. It is older-of course will show some wear, but I don't see anything else to mention, strong, has held up well! Antique ships lantern lamp copper brass large look
This is a Large(approx. 17 1/2ins tall and approx 12ins wide) heavy( approx. 15lbs) vintage ships lantern. Which has a thick glass Fresno. It is metal which looks like brass and copper( see pics) and has a wooden base. It is electrified and has a place for a small bulb inside. I tested it with a working bulb but it did not light I imagine that it is either the switch or the wiring so it will need fixing The lamp came from an Estate sale and whilst I was not able to get a history on it I was told by the agents that it had been in the family for a long time. As you can see it has not been polished and is a little dusty( as were all the items at the sale! The glass is very thick and appears to be old with imperfections and bubbles. I found one minute flea bit chip in one of the ridges, I tried to show it on the photos but it can more be felt ... morethat seen. It is being sold as- found. Nice pair of vintage Ship lights. Selling as is. Can use a good polishing. Will try to describe as best as I can. Copper lights with bronze hardware/signage. Marked STUURBOORD and BAKBOORD. Thick Red and Blue glass. Inside is a label for DHR( Den Haan Rotterdam) Outside is marked MADE IN HOLLAND. Electrified. Tested and working fine. Not sure if these were oil lamps at one time. The tray holding the light does slide out. The hardware does seem to indicate the lamps are side mounted. Each light is about 2 pounds 5 ounces.

19th Century Barn Lantern (made by Taylor Adams Pritchard) San Francisco
For sale is a 19th century barn lantern made by Taylor Adams Pritchard of San Francisco. The Makers stamp shows an address of 12-14 Market Street. San Francisco. Research shows that Wesley Osborne shot and killed Hiram Adams and wounded William Pritchard. The company then became Taylor Pritchard. This lantern was originally a kerosene lantern but has been converted to electric. It has the original glass lantern that has turned purple. The original Mercury Reflector is in good condition and measures 7" I believe this is made of tin. But because of green and blue patina, it may be copper. The metal is in fairly good condition with just a few small dents in the top curved part. It has a bracket on the back for mounting on the wall. The glass panels look like they have been replaced. This little lantern is in very good condition. I don't know the age of it and there is not a manufacturer name on it. It is nicely done. I is electric. The bulb in it is marked USA. I was able to read Sylvania and 230V. I wiped the end to read it more clearly and all of the letters went away. It is a dual pole bulb. The bulb receptacle screws out and there are screws that can be removed or loosened to place wires into it then tightened back to make a very good positive connection. At the age of 22, Robert Edwin Dietz bought a small lamp and oil shop in Brooklyn, New York. Robert, with his brother William, called the company Dietz, Brother and Company. One of their first products was a candle lantern; they later made sperm whale oil lamps, girandoles, hall lamps, and chandeliers. Three more Dietz brothers joined the company in 1855, and the name became Dietz and Company. That same year, the brothers built a large factory in New York City. The next year, in 1856, Dietz patented a flat wick burner to burn coal oil, a much cheaper fuel. In 1868, Robert sold his interest in Dietz and Company and partnered with Absalom Smith to form a new company, Dietz and ... moreSmith. This Battle lantern is the hard-wired version of the lanterns made by the Reflan Co. located in Topsfield. Mass. It has the pigtail cord and plug intact. It is designed to be mounted on ship bulkheads with a key slot bracket, which is included. You twist it on and off. It is embossed"USN' and'NM' on the front. I believe the bulb is burned out. The tip of it is that white color. As you can see by the pictures. It's light grey in color. It is practically immaculate. This is a very high quality reproduction of an original ship’s lamp made in 1842. It has a heavily weighted base. And may be used as a table lamp. It comes with gimbals for wall mounting. It bears a plaque which says“GV HARNISCH EFTF GRUNDLAGT 1842 KJØBENHAVN. 4633. It is solid brass. With a glass globe and chimney. It has been used but is in excellent condition. It has a small dark spot just above the gimbal mount, and another very small spot just above the wick adjustment. Don’t know what caused these. On the bottom there is a sticker. Made in Denmark. Antique 1950's USCG 200mm Lovell BU-48 Buoy Lantern /Light 12v DC All Original
A wonderful find for the nautical collector. This is a 200mm Lovell BU-48 04-8 buoy lantern used by the USCG. It is electrically operated and requires 12 volt DC from either batteries or solar power. This is original and has not been converted for home use. Inside there are 4 small light bulbs which rotate for identifying the location I suppose. These lanterns were used from the 1940's to about the 1970's. The lantern is missing one of the secure down clamps. A nut that I am pointing out with my finger and there are some small chips on the edges of some of the glass ridges. Inside there seems to be a wiring diagram attached so that you could check out of the wiring. It also needs a complete dismantle, cleaning and painting. I have left it in the original state in the event this is the way you want it or that you might want to restore ... moreit. It will need Liquid Wrench, TLC and lots of labor of love. This listing is for a large solid brass ship's lantern marked"PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDWE CORP. It measures approximately 14-3/4" tall(excluding handle) and has a base diameter of 7-1/8" The lantern has been painted black over the brass which shows through in several places(see photos) The lantern is an estate find and we do not know if the paint is original. The high quality of the paint job prompts us to wonder. The glass globe has no cracks in it and the original tank plug is present. The glass is marked Perko 31-L-17A. The oil burner is missing. The lantern takes an oil burner with a 1-3/16 ID thread. There are some minor dings and dents in the lantern as well as a small split in the cap where it joins with the glass globe(see photos) There are no repairs and the split does not affect the integrity of the cap. These Wilcox& Crittenden Marine lanterns have been converted to electric. Both lights work. Both have base of original kerosene container and only needs small burner/ wick insert to convert it back to the original state. see photo. Contact me for any questions. Ship Lantern Solid Brass Anchor NOS
Offered here is a Nautical Ship Lantern Marked: ANCHOR on brass tag. This entire lantern is solid brass with some of the frame tarnished& copper in color"looking" I am unsure of the type of brass? Has a red color tarnish to it and this lantern could be polished out really nicely to a consistent gold color if desired. No manufacture dates; patent dates; or any other markings found other than the word Anchor. This lantern has never been lit. And is NOS. I took a large powerful magnet to all parts, and the only time the magnet stuck was on the widest part of the burner frame; the other parts of the burner are"brass" and non-magnetic. A couple of very small dents in the frame is all the flaws worth mentioning. Everything turns; rotates; operates as it was as new! This lantern stands 13-7/8" tall exactly and is 7-5/8" ... moreat it's widest diameter with the bottom of the frame measuring 6-5/8" exactly. The distance between gimballed bail handle eye loops is 19-1/2" while hanging. The upper gimballed handle allows the user to open the entire top ventilator to remove the fuel pot while hanging& remaining attached. This lantern weighs 6.22 lbs on scale"without fuel& having the inside glass chimney" It is missing the inside glass chimney that would measure 1-1/4" across outside bottom diameter& would stand 4-1/2" tall approximately. The clear Fresnel globe is in perfect shape having air bubbles& cast lines and swirls; has smooth surface inside& refractory surface outside& measures: 5-5/16" in diameter across outside top& bottom& 4-3/4" tall overall. It is non removable& this lantern appears to be a fixed globe type. This item fairly clean other than dust on the inside& ready to use or display in a nautical collection! Antique Adlake Non Sweating Lantern Box Style 1 Way Signal Lamp(still not sure if this item is for Railroad or Boating industry) maybe someone out there can give me some data. Red Pyrex Glass appears to be in excellent shape still. From what I'm learning these unique lanterns were used by river lamplighter to mark the shoals on a Big River or Lake. But I haven't been able to verify this yet. I stumbled upon this at a thrift store today and have spent a bunch of time just trying to figure out what I have here. lol It is VERY heavy and appears to be made out of Black Wrought Iron. It also appears that all the parts are intact. There is a little kerosene container inside and the wick is still in the canister. But thanks to the picture on the box, I know that this was never an oil lamp. This was an actual electric lamp that was manufactured and sold by Perko, and it was intended to be used inside the home. It is hard to read, but it looks like 1972 is the postmark date on the box. I have had this Perko hanging electric lamp for over a year now. And in that time, I haven't been able to find out anything about it. I haven't even been able to find a picture of another one online. If it weren't for the original shipping box, I wouldn't know anything about it at all. This lamp has some minor straches. But no dings or dents that I can see. The ... moreglass appears to be crack and chip free. I'm not sure if the lamp currently works, but it would be best to have it serviced and/or re-wired regardless. It is about 21" long(not including the length of the chain) weights around 10-12 lbs and it is made of solid brass. The patina is natural; not fake.

This is a very different antique brass lantern. Probably used in the cabin of a ship or on a wall mount. The glass globe is not original. And not even old. But it does fit. I have never lit the lamp and is in as found condition. I am not near the coast anymore and figured someone may like it who is closer to the Ocean. It has great patina. I have never polished it. The fill cap has coinded edges and does unscrew easy. The wick adjustment does work and reads E. Miller& Co. Made in USA And then the large word Boston is on two sides of the lamp. Being all brass it was ment to be on or near the salt air. The inside is clean. I have never put fuel in the lamp. The lead on the bottom of the lamp was done I do not know when or what fore. Awesome vintage copper and brass ship's lantern made by"Anchor" made in England. Rare and collectible! This one measures 19" high; and 7" across at the bottom. Very nice heavy piece! Has"Anchor" marked at the top. And an insignia and"made in England" on the bottom fuel container. The top brass hanger folds down, too. I found this at an estate sale near Annapolis; and it has a couple dings and there's a dent at one of the brass rings on the side(see 7th photo) Burner looks to be in great shape, the glass globe has a big crack in it and will most likely need to be replaced. Small Brass Tealight Lantern - Vintage Style - Over 9" tall - Made in India
This little brass lantern is 9.75" tall x 4.75" wide. It is a vintage tealight style lantern that was made in India. It has some damage. But the damage does not compromise the integrity of the lantern. The first thing is the top has a crack in the brass heart shaped dome. The second is the one of the vertical bars, is broke loose from the top area(picture shown) The glass around the outside is not broken. The tealight area is showing age, but is in good shape to hold a tealight and do it's job! Nice collectable lantern!
