Vintage Brass Wilcox Crittenden Conn Ship Boat Light Lantern Lamp Red & Green
I do not know how old this lantern is. I think that it is old enough to be considered vintage or possibly antique. The oval plate on the back of it reads. Wilcox, Crittenden& Co. Inc. Middletown, Conn. U.S.A. It appears to be brass. Most of the photos make the metal look redder than it actually is. The photos where the metal looks like it has a very slight greenish tint are closer to representing the actual color. I see where the close-up of the hole where the burner goes makes the edges look like maybe the metal is not brass. In real life. That is not the case. The edges look like brass. A magnet will not stick to any of the lantern and I believe that it is solid brass. I have provided a photo of the bottom being held up to a light to show how it might look when illuminated. Not including the ring at the top. It measures about 9 ½ ... moreinches high. The ring at the top adds about 1 3/4 inches. It weighs about 2 pounds 3.5 ounces. The divider is removable. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The burner is missing. Otherwise. It is generally in excellent condition. The tarnish is a little uneven and there is a little green oxidation on the back that you can see in a photo. I have provided a close-up of a bend in the edge of the hole for the burner. I do not know if it should be there or not. A close-up shows a small shallow depression just below the seam on the chimney. I do not know if it was made that way or not. Otherwise, are no dents in the metal or breaks or cracks in the glass. The inside and a little of the outside of the glass could use some cleaning. It looks like there is some soot on the inside of the top part. There is a little of some kind of dark hard gunk on the bottom that you can see in the photo of the bottom. Otherwise, it is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this lantern to be as described and represented by my photos. Metal with clear glass globe Ship or Railroad Kerosene Lantern. Canada 1921-1923 with numbers engraved on bottom. Adlake Kero engraved on the top. 10 by 6 inch lamp with a 4 inch high handle. Wick inside is intact as well as the wicks handle on the side. The bottoms wire like base is slightly bent. There is some rust throughout and a 1/2 inch long, 1/8 inch dent on the top. Just turn the switch and watch it glow. It puts off a Beautiful fully adjustable Blue Glowing Light using a Vintage style 40w Edison light bulb with a full range Leviton dimmer switch. This awesome Antique ship lantern works perfectly and is in excellent vintage condition. The lantern was manufactured in the 1920's and is constructed of metal with brass hardware and a brass manufacturers name plate. Antique Brass Lantern Oil Pot Fuel Font - Early Nautical Fixed Globe Lamp Part
Here are the dimensions. The hole this pot fits is 2 1/2 inches across. The pot spans 3 1/4" across its base flange. Or outer edge. 2 inch height between top of threads and bottom of Sangster clips. Stands 2 1/4" overall. All brass. This pot has a crease in its bottom rolled edge, and one clip has been re-soldered a long time ago. The clip repair does not harm how the pot sits and both of these issues are visible in the pictures. The threads are 7/8ths across and suffer no damage. Springs are strong and pot will hold oil. Large ANTIQUE Double Stacked SHIPS LIGHT Clear Lens BRASS Nautical Lantern Lamp

Measures about 16" high(including the handle) x 6" wide. Weight is 8 pounds. To help give an idea of scale. In the photos I put the light next to a regular size coffee cup. There are no markings on this light that I can find. There has been no cleaning or restoration done to this light, it has quite a bit of tarnish and natural patina. There is a small dent on the top but no other dents. One of the support braces has come loose(see photo#11) The wiring is ancient and not useable. Antique Ships Naval Candle Lantern Lamp Eli Griffiths & Son Birmingham 1940-49
This is a ships candle lantern made by"Eli Griffiths& Son" of Birmingham England. When I bought it. I was told that this particular model was made between 1940 and 1949. I see 2 other lanterns by the same maker on ebay right now at $185. $322. Niether of them is at all the same style as this one, so it's not much of a comafrison. The top is hinged, and the hing works nicly. The latch also works well, and holds closed as it's suposed to when caried by the handle. The 5 glass pannels are all in good condition with no cracks. The floor inside is well coated with wax from use. There are vent holes in the bottom, and it is also vented at the top. There is a slit in the side of the cup that the candle sits in to allow the wax to run out. This makes so you can burn a candle all the way doen to nothing. I have made a small wooden ... morecollar so you can use a canxdle that is smaller in diamiter than what it was made for if you like. This is not a light weight lantern. It weighs just over 5 LBs. VERY RARE ANTIQUE JAPANESE NIPPON SENTO NAUTICAL SHIP BRASS LANTERN SIGNAL LAMP
For sale is an Antique Japanese Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. Ships Brass Oil Signal Lamp Lantern. This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like it listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos ... morefor the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. I have sold many oil lamps on ebay. I looked at completed sold and current ebay Perko Lamps and did not see one like this. Heavy duty glass-globe cage. Working hinge no issues that I can see. No dings-dents or holes.no holes in oil reservour. I think it will light and hold oil. More then likely it will need a new wick. Measures 12" X 6" at the base.

Rare Vintage Ethan Allen Nautical Lantern Lamp
A rare vintage Ethan Allen featured nautical lamp. The beautiful lantern lamp has a flickering bulb in the lantern. And a 3 way light switch, which controls both the lamp and the lantern. On each side of the lantern is a railing with belaying pins, giving this lamp an authentic nautical look. The base of the lamp is 14" in length. 9.5" in width, and 2" in depth. The lamp stands 31" to the top of the harp where the shade sets. The shade measures 12" in diameter on top, 14" on the bottom, and is 12" in height. The wood on the lamp may have some scuffs marks or nicks, but it appears to be in great condition for it's age. This beautiful nautical lamp will definitely fit in with any decor.

NAUTICAL RED EMERGENCY SHIP LANTERN COPPER AND BRASS TABLE LAMP
Thank you for viewing this auction for is one. 1) brass and copper ship lamp converted to a table lamp. This is an old oil lamp that I believe served as a emergency light due to the red lens it has which shine 360 degrees. There are two thick heavy glass lenses on this light. The clear lens is the amplifying lens, and the inside lens is for giving the light the red color. This light is constructed of primarily copper and brass. There are also some iron components to this light, this includes the lens protectors and the two hanging brackets. The hanging brackets are used to not only hang the light vertically, but also to stabilize it from moving left to right, and front to back. There is no lamp inside of this lantern, it does no light up internally. This ship lantern appears to have been converted a long time ago; I believe at the very earliest ... moreit was made into a table lamp in the 1940’s. This is an older piece and I am unsure of the age. I am also unsure of a maker for this lamp for there are no maker marks I have been able to identify. Telling from its construction. There is a good chance this lantern is from a 19 th century ship. The condition of this lamp is old. There are multiple dents on this lantern. And appears to have been used heavily. This lamp no longer has its original oil burner, it was most likely discarded when it was converted to a table lamp. The mounting clips are still in place for accepting an oil burner. The red lens and clear reflector are intact with no cracks. The lamp is built to flex, so it does move and flex; the structure of the lamp is still sound. The lamp does work, and lights. I would suggest changing the cord if it is still desired to use as a table lamp; the cord is older, and the plug is not polarized. The copper and brass does have extensive corrosion and staining on it. Also there are a lot of dings and dents throughout. Vintage Brass Nautical / Train Light Oil Lantern / Lamp
Here is a brass oil lamp marked made in England as it the burner it looks to be in very good condition. It may be off of a ship or train. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. You can also just remove the burner and tank to refuel the lamp.The lamp is approximately 12" tall by 4 3/4" deep by 6 5/8"wide. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Up for sale is an Antique Bronze Royal Lantern. It is also marked B& H on the fill cap. Which I assume is for the Railroad. There isn't a globe with this. Nor handles, but it does have several early 1890's Pat. No on the cap and around the rim. It is in good condition with some green corrosion around the bottom and small dents in the body. It has scratches and other usage marks. But I don't see any cracks or holes. The coil springs on the inside need to be reset when a new wick is put in place. It is empty and untested. Rare antique copper and brass ships lantern from the south Texas coast. Lantern is an ANCHOR brand made by W.T. GEORGE Co. Ltd. Sherlock Street, Birmingham 5. The main body measures 14 inches tall by 10 inches across. Has both an upper and lower arm to allow it to swing with the ships movement. It was electrified several with 16/3 wiring but it does not light up at this time. Pops a breaker so it it probably in the on/off switch built into the long electrical cord. Hi folks. I'm back after an absence to auction more incredible, authentic items from parents' collections. These are items they've kept in storage- they were collectors of anything and everything old, unusual or beautiful starting their collections back in the 1950s. The past year has had me busy researching, inventorying and cataloging their items. Now I have the dubious task of selling some. For starters, I am not an expert in anything. I have some knowledge of some things, but sometimes I'm not exactly sure of what I have so feel free to contact me to either correct me or educate me. I believe in the"auction" process, so the starting bids on all my items are fairly low to encourage bidding. Here we have an absolutely magnificent antique ship's lantern. Or to be more specific, a Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware ... moreCo. distress or signal lantern circa about 1915-1925. It is made of galvanized steel and brass- all galvanized steel except for a brass top and brass burner which were polished quite some time ago. The lantern shows old solder repairs. Has a little bit of surface rust here and there, but is otherwise really clean. The fitted burner seems to be very good condition. Is a Plume and Atwood and on the thumb wheel it reads"P&A Mfg Co, Waterbury. Conn. Made in U.S.A. Plume& Atwood made the burners for Perko and many other makers. This lantern has NOT been electrified. The clear globe is marked PERKINS 8 and while it has a little dust. It shows NO damage and is protected by 8 wire guards that are firmly in place(some have some surface rust) The base has two tie-down clips. Although he never used it. This had been hanging in my father's workshop many years ago and I just presumed it had been sold or lost until June when I discovered it had been packed away. The lantern measures about 14.5" tall without the loop standing up(about 16" tall with the loop up) Is about 9.5" wide looking down on it and measuring it wire guard to wire guard. The base measure

This is a great Perkins"PERKO" Marine lantern or bow light. The lantern is about 18" tall counting the handle. The lens is heavy red glass and can be seen from all sides(360 degrees) The lantern works off of oil or kerosene. The reservoir and wick are in tack and working. The Perkins metal tag is still in place(too dark to get into photo) There are some small nicks and I can see what looks like brass under the black paint. I believe the paint is original to the lantern. The lantern is heavy. Over 7 pounds. Lanterns like this were used on large ships as a warning light or bow light. This is a Vintage Perko Ships' Lantern lamp manufactured by the"Perko Perkins Marine Lamp& HDWE Corp. of Boston. Mass. It has a clear Fresnel glass lens that is in very good condition. It has a 4 position on/off switch which allows for either the top, bottom or both lights to be lit. They are in working condition. The shade features a very nice lighthouse and harbor scene. The shade does however show its age and is fragile. The wiring is working, but probably should be replaced for safety's sake. Please examine the photos carefully. We are offering a rare antique nautical lantern made by Eli Griffiths& Sons of Birmingham. England! This large all-weather lantern was likely made for maritime use in the late 19th or early 20th century and held a single large candle protected behind five removable panes of glass that each measure 3 1/2" x 8" It is an unusually large and durable design that is typical of use in industry. The lantern stands 13 1/2" in height(17 1/2" with the wooden handle raised) and 7 7/16" in diameter at the base. It weighs 4 lbs, 12 oz. The metal is copper in color but is magnetic and so most likely tin. The hinged lid with a lockable clasp opens and closes smoothly, and reveals the interior black paint to be in very good condition. The mount that holds the candle has a slit in the side that allows the excess wax to flow out, ... moreand the candle to be burned all the way down. All five glass panels are intact with only minor chips along the edges typical of use. Stamped onto the lantern's lid is"E.G. S. LTD BIRMINGHAM" for Eli Griffiths& Sons. Sherwood Birmingham Nautical Lantern Lamp 12" Judging from other similar lamps/lanterns this appears to be a Nautical Lantern with some age. However. I can’t be sure how old this lantern is. The only mark to be found on/in the lantern is SHERWOOD BHAM on the turn knob. Since this company made both lantern burners and the lanterns, my assumption is the lantern is from that factory. The lantern still has an old wet wick in it, probably old kerosene, but it(the wick) will need to be replaced as it no longer raises and lowers. The knob turns, however. Height of the lantern is approximately 12” not including the bail, with the wire cage around the clear glass globe approx. 6” in diameter. The metal is probably copper or brass, but I can’t be sure. Up for auction is AN ORIGINAL VERY OLD vintage solid galvanized metal nautical Ship Anchor Lantern. The classic anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The anchor lamp is machined in pure heavy-gauge steel sheet. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The tops to the main body and the vent top are both hinged. Thus the top swings open for access and ease of cleaning. This all metal(except the frilled vent top, which is galvanized copper) is galvanized and shows its age. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION. The anchor lamp is named for its use. A 360o white light is required to be displayed at the highest point( the tallest mast) on all vessels at anchor or under way at night. These oil burning lanterns were made to be lit and hoisted to the top of the mast with one rope tied ... moreto the handle and 2 ropes through the brass guides to keep it from swaying as the ship rolled with the sea. vtg R V Anchor brass ship's table lamp nautical maritime oil lantern light HTF
For auction is an old oil lamp. Very unusual one, I think. I have not been able to figure out too much about it. It has some age though. The bottom is weighted, which I was thinking might indicate that it was to be used on a boat or ship. The only marking is on the knob and it has an R and V on each side of a anchor. I have had this a few years in my basement bar. But changing themes and it is time to let it go. I am not sure it is functional, but the way it is made I would expect that it might be. Excellent condition Rare antique copper and brass ships lantern from the south Texas coast. Lantern was made by the R. L. MURRAY& Co. LIMITED. Pollockshaws Rd, Glascow S. 1. Also marked LAMPADS NO. 260 on another plaque. 1 other plaque is marked NOT UNDER COMMAND and the plaque below it reads S.A.R- S.A.S. The main body measures 13 inches tall by 11 inches across. Has both an upper and lower arm to allow it to swing with the ships movement. It has been electrified several and light up with a soft amber glow as shown in picture. Cord has an on/off switch built into the line. Super conversation piece for that man cave. Has been lightly scratched around screw near top edge as shown. Heavy item that will weigh 29- 30 pounds packaged.
