Super Rare Vintage Cargo Hold Lantern
Super rare vintage cargo hold lantern. I spent countless hours researching this and found very little about it other than the fact that it is a lantern from a cargo hold in a ship/warehouse. The wick rolls up and down freely and appears to be about new. There is no oil or kerosene. This was part of my grandparent's estate. The glass panels are intact. Not broken or cracked; however, there are some blemishes: 1) Glass glove is cracked at base(see photo) 2) Top needs repair(see top view photo) 3) Lamp base is detached from base. This lantern is approximately 5.5" x 5.5" x 14.5" and weighs almost 6 lbs. All glass in intact with no cracks. It has a wedge burner. I have not tried to use it. Vintage Brass Marine Lantern Nautical Cargo Light Lamp England
This Vintage Brass Marine Lantern is marked English Made on the wick adjuster. It measures 16 1/2 by 7 3/4 inches. It is hand crafted with rivets and solder. The work shows very good quality. It is in very good condtion with a couple of very small hard to find dents. The top and the globe unscrew to fill the tank. They are stuck with old fuel varnish and I do not intend to forcefully remove them. The wick moves up and down when the wheel is turned. The glass plates and globe are very good. It weights almost 6 pounds and has a nice bale style handle with a loop at the top for hanging and also has loop tie downs on the sides for use on a ship. Overall its a pretty clean brass lantern/ Also I think these light oxidation areas will clean off nicely with a small tiny brass wirer brush or some very fine steel wool/ I left lantern alone and as is over the years with its old ageing patina/ the old wick turns up& down nicely/ The inside of this old lantern looks to be pretty clean and it does not appear to have much aging. Overall this old lantern looks to be very well made and very well kept over the years. Converted Antique Marine Lamp Cargo Lantern Brass Viking Ships Steampunk
Antique Viking Cargo Lantern Converted to AC 110-120 v with Edison Bulb Just finished my latest conversion using an old Viking mast lantern using antique and vintage electrical parts. This is a larger Viking lamp. Measuring approx 14-1/2" from the base to the top not including the wire hangers. If the hangers are included it is about 21" Thought the original old lamp was too small for the conversion so I did not use it. Instead I used an antique porcelain fitting with a brass top from a part from an antique Aladdin oil lamp. These were joined by a friction fit and further cementing with high heat silicon which does not show. The on/off switch is also old. 1940 or older is my guess. All the wiring is new reproduction cloth covered twisted pair wire. The bulb, which is included, is a 60 watts. 8 filement reproduction Edison type bulb. ... moreThe lit bulb in my pictures doesn't show up well due to the brightness. It is quite beautiful to see when lit. At the end of the cord is an antique 2 prong vintage plug. likely 20's or 30's. This lamp was made to hang from a hook or wall bracket. Perhaps in a corner, over a period piece of furniture or in an alcove. Have put on extra wire that the buyer can trim to fit the space. The switch hangs free and was intended to hang conveniently down a wall for easy reach. This could be removed if the light were to be used with a wall switch or dimmer. The repro Edison bulb is included and is brand new but we do not guarantee them. They seem to be a bit more fragile regular bulbs. My experience is that they last longer if put on a dimmer and turned down about 10% We pack well and have shipped world wide since 1998. It measures approximately 15" tall(not including handle) and 6.5" square(not including fittings/external bars) The lid is closed by a latch and clip. Open this to expose the inner chimney. Which can be easily removed by pulling up on the two brass handles in opposing corners. The chimney is in like new condition and the wick raiser works like a dream. There are four outer glass panes that easily slide in and out for cleaning. They are crystal clear and in very good condition with no visible chips. The rivets on this lantern are copper. One side is a door that opens via a little latch. This lantern measures about 15" tall by 6 3/4" by 6 3/4" The brass has a beautiful, aged patina and the glass is free of any chips or cracks. The wick is still intact. The lantern is very dusty& dirty, and could use a good cleaning, but structurally it appears to be fine, with no dents or damage. A very nice and highly collectable lantern!

Up for sale is a beautiful pair of old brass maritime oil lantern that is signed"Wedge. These are really fine old lanterns. And very well made. The rivets are copper. There is glass on all four sides behind the grates. One side is a door that opens via a little latch. This lantern measures about 15" tall by 6 3/4" by 6 3/4" with the handle up they measure 22 1/2" The brass has a beautiful, aged patina and the glass is free of any chips or cracks. The wick is still intact. They are in excellent condition with no dents or damage. A very nice and highly collectable pair of lanterns!

This lantern has been converted from an oil burning lamp to a 3-level brightness touch activated electric lamp. Light is approx 15' tall. 9' wide, 6 1/2' deep, and weights approx 9.4 pounds.
