Complete with an Inner Brass Oil Kerosene Lantern Burner It has a Wide Hanging Handle, Punched Vents. It is in Good-very good Vintage Condition, There is expected tarnish/patina present There is a small non sharp chip on the top door glass within the beveling. Ther door hinge is a little warped but it closes and latches ok measurement are: 13-1/2"tall including the handle. Approximately 4" wide across the lantern body, 5-1/4"wide across glass pane's x 51/4" wide across bottom. The oil container unscrews for filling, there is an unused wick inside the oil container. Here is a very old QUALITY made BRASS/ BRONZE? NAUTICAL SHIP LIGHT. This ANTIQUE NAVIGATION light has a 6 1/2 inch base across and is about 5 1/2 inches tall. This light has really nice AGED PATINA and is a GREAT SHOW DISPLAY PIECE. there ARE 5 base bolts with this light. There are no interior parts. The glass shows on only 1/2 side of the light which was probably for a forward facing deck light. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS FROM A SHIP MAST? There are no makers marks. Very HEAVY about 7 lbs. RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. This is an original matching set. Each signed"PERKO, PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HARDWARE CO. BROOKLYN, N.Y. U.S.A. on the back. All three are brass, with original burners signed"PERKO U.S.A. on the wick adjustment knobs. The red and green lenses are signed"PERKO" and the clear lens appears to be unsigned. The clear lens has NO chips, the green lens has one tiny nick, and the red lens has two chips, each approx. 1/2" long on the top edge. Each lamp measures approx. 11-3/4" high to top of cap and 13-1/2" high to top of ring. All three are from the same vintage, with kerosene fonts and burners, but also with a place to wire a small electrical socket. At some point in their life all three were painted with a coat of light brown paint, which will strip off easily enough. You are bidding on the two vintage cast brass Ship's nautical passageway wall sconce lights shown in the above photos. These lights measure about 9 1/2 inches tall and not counting the wall mount they are about 4 inches wide. When mounted to the wall. They will extend out from the wall by about 7 inches. The wall mount has two mount holes and will require a mounting surface that is about 3 inches wide and about 1/2 inches tall. Originally the power source for these lights came ... morefrom two conduits that connected into the back side of the light. We installed two copper caps in the original conduit holes and added the 90 degree elbow and short brass pipe on the top. The elbow and the brass pipe we added allows all the wiring to be 100% hidden from sight. You can install a plate cover over your existing junction box and drill a hole that will allow the conduit pipe to enter your junction box. Next step is to screw the light to your cover plate and you are done. Also, the new pipe we installed can be cut flush with the wall mount, and the light can be installed right to the wall with no junction box. If you want the pipe cut, just tell us and will cut it flush before the lights are shipped. The globes are glass and in good condition. Each light weighs almost 3/12 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage and then unscrewing the glass globe. The glass is undamaged, but could use some additional cleaning. The cage and the glass globe drops right out. Inside oil lamp comes out to refill etc. Top unlatches as well too(as pictured) There is an imperfection(which looks like a chip. But you cannot"feel" it by touch) on the actually tiny hurricane glass piece surrounding the lamp piece itself. Residue left on the top"latch" of the piece from previous burning. US Navy Ship Bulkhead Lights Brass - Corning Lenses - WW2 Era
You are bidding on 2 brass covered. Interior bulkhead lights. They are about 8" high, 4.5" wide and 4" deep. The covers are solid brass and the lenses read"Corning Made in USA 3DX3 F.S.O. on the inside. They both have the wiring and the bulb socket although one of them is squashed a little bit. One is missing a brass holding screw for the cover and the remaining screw is stripped out. They have an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers sticker on the back but you can barely make them out. I am brokering a fairly large maritime collection which has a number of items from WW2 Naval ships so I believe these are probably from a US Navy ship of some kind but I have no proof of that as the collector has passed on and records are sketchy. Early Unsigned Brass Marine Lamp #2
One of two similar lamps I will be listing on eBay. They are not an exact matching pair. But they are close. This one measures approx. 10-1/4" high to top of cap and 12" to top of ring. It is all brass, NOT signed anywhere that I could find. Glass lenses appear to be the originals. The green one has several"spider" cracks. The other two are clear but the red one may have had red paint or flashing originally. There is a place for a small kerosene font and burner, but none came with this one, although the original reflector is intact. Overall condition is not bad. I combine shipping whenever possible, and normally will ship worldwide within one day of receiving payment. R.I. residents must add 7% sales tax. I accept PAYPAL and payment is expected within 7 days from close of auction.
