Lantern is marked"Tung Wood, Hong Kong, Stern" It measures approximately 8 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide. Cosmetically, it's in vintage condition(shows some wear, minor dings etc. It could use a good cleaning! There are no chips or cracks in the glass. The lantern has not been tested. You are bidding on one of our reclaimed original ship's passageway light shown in the above photos. We started out with an original 1950's American made Pauluhn passageway or engine room light. The first thing we did was to remove all the paint and give the light a very nice polish job. From there we fitted all the original conduit holes with a threaded plug and drilled a new hole on the top of the light so the new wiring con exit the light and be completely hidden. We also added that cool looking copper deflector cover to improve the looks of the light when mounted to the ... moreceiling. All the old wiring was removed and all new wiring and a new bulb holder made by Westinghouse Electric has been installed. The wiring and bulb holder is UL-Listed and rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The new bulb holder takes a common screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. When mounted to the ceiling. This light will extend down about 8 inches. To access the bulb area, you just spin off the cage, and then spin off the undamaged glass globe. The base of the light is about 4 1/2 inches wide and the two mount hole lugs are 5 inches on center of each other. This light weighs right at 6 pounds. USS Saugatuck T2 Tanker WWII Steel/Some Brass Cargo Light
USS Saugatuck was part of the James River Reserve Fleet from 1974 to 2006. In 2006. She was sold to Bay Bridge Enterprise in Chesapeake, VA for scrapping. I was able to board the ship, remove and pay for many maritine items. This fixture was in a forward storage room on the ship. The USS Saugatuck was the last of the T-2 tankers built for service in WWII. The cargo light weights 18 pounds. Heigth is 12" diamiter is 5 1/2" The upper glass unit screws onto the base. One sconce is missing the threaded rod mounting hardware but one can be found at your local hardware store. The finish is fair and could be cleaned up easily with Brasso or left with its natural patina. The glass globes are in good shape and don't need replacing. This was mounted on the wall of my old 1957 CHRIS CRAFT BULL NOSE when i bought it. it stayed there untill the boat started to delaminate on the sides near the water. So we salvaged what we could and sent it to the boat salvage yard before it sank. There is degree marks cast into it. But they didnt show up in the pix. I am not sure of its age, it definately didnt have the same patina as some of the brass on the boat but it was inside the cabin where a dehumidifier was always on. I bought the boat in 2006.

I am selling a unique working vintage brass nautical passage light with red glass. It measures 15" from the top of the brass hook to the bottom brass hook and 4 1/2" wide. It has a 15 ft cord and slightly shorter chain. The chain links are separated near the top- see photo and wrapped around the cord near the bottom- could be reattached with pliers. This light measure about 28 inches tall and weighs about 12 pounds. The wide end with the glass measures 13 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 12 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 8 inches long. The connecting pipe and ceiling mount we have added to this light are iron. And painted with a color that is very close to a brass look. The connecting pipe is common 1/2 threaded pipe you buy at most hardware stores, so you can change the distance between the ceiling and the light by changing the pipe. The ceiling mount is 3 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse ... moreElectric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 12 inches of extra wiring. The 6 wing nuts that hold the glass and brass ring on the bottom side all work freely, and we have installed new glass. The original conduit hole has been closed using a copper cap. R&S Co. Maritime Light Fixture With Brass Cage And Pyrex Globe.
This auction is for an R&S(Russell& Stoll N.Y. maritime light fixture with a brass cage and a Pyrex globe. R&S CO NY appears on the brass cage in the third picture. The light fixture stands 8 inches high and weighs more than 8 pounds. After cleaning some of the paint off the cage. We found what appears to be cast brass underneath. The cage metal is nonmagnetic and has a brass color. The base, on the other hand, may be cast iron. It is magnetic. The only information I can find on the metal is the R&S CO NY. Vintage Chelsea Maritime Brass Lantern
This is a vintage Chelsea Maritime brass lantern. It has a brass slide out oil tank and has never been burned, There seems to be a piece of the burner missing but pretty sure that can be replace. It is 4 side glass walls with brass bars covering the glass. It stands 15" tall and each side is 7" wide. All the glass is in prefect condition. It has a wood handle and it too is in excellent condition. There is a place on back for hanging. A brass label on front saying Chelsea LTD Maritime. I think this lantern would be considered in excellent condition. My husband did replace a couple screws. This was an estate find. As seen in attached photos Up for auction is a authentic ship's lantern from Japan. White light made by the Sento Company LTD. The label carries several sets of numbers. 582 B899 32 12 Also. The glass itself is marked in white with"1796" Electrical fittings have been tested and work perfectly. Add a light bulb and use as a lamp. Or copper tubing could easily be removed. The electric fitting was a later addition and is secured through the bottom with three small screws. Piece measures 33cm(13" tall without the handle and 24 cm across the base. Heavy Old Nautical Wall Mounted Brass Kerosene Lamp
Very heavy– especially the base– old brass kerosene lamp. 8 ½” tall, 3 ½” across the base. It will stand alone, but is fitted with substantial pegs high on two sides that fit into angled slots of a wall-mounted bracket, and would presumably remain upright in an ocean swell. How far it would swing would of course depend on the height of the chimney. The wick is clean; the mechanism works smoothly; the dome at the top is signed with a‘T’ over‘M’ The surface has darkened fairly uniformly. Very good condition. There are a couple of dents, fortunately, given the dark color of the surface, not very visible. The more obvious one is a linear 1” dimple. No cracks, corrosion, scratches, or repair. These lights were originally deck spotlights on ships and we painted in various colors. We have refurbished the light by stripping of the paint and polishing the lights so that could regain their former luster. The lights are rewired with basic UL approved sockets and wires. Please note that the lights have scratches. Dents and wear and tear and are old. These lights have a unique dual color tone and have great industrial yet nautical look. Antique Dietz Brass Maritime Dark Lantern Red Glass Ship Light
Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. VINTAGE BRASS LANTERN 'CHIEF LIGHT NO 3509 GREAT BRITAIN 1935'
This is a nice. Vintage brass lantern that came from the estate of a local retired seaman. I do not know anything about the provenance of the lantern. It is 14 1/2" high, each side is 6 1/2" wide, it weighs 6.15 lbs. The sides are made with glass and brass. It is in good condition. Customer satisfaction is my number one priority. Antique Maritime Heavy Brass Ship Light Lamp Cobalt Blue Glass Globe 2099-L-4
Antique Brass Ship's Light Contains correct and highly sought after cobalt blue globe. A rare find. Cord including on/off switch is in good shape. Works as it should. Globe has chip to the lip that sits between the housing and lid. This chip is not visible when lid is on and light is lit. Both sliding doors(front/bottom) are present which makes this an even rarer find. It stands 12 inches high with about a 6 inch diameter.
